If you sign up for a membership, they'll auto-bill you once a month for $79, which is the "member price" for an elite facial. It's a 12 month minimum. I had purchased a Groupon back in Feb, liked my facial, and thought, "hey, I'm going to make myself do something nice for myself every month." I'm not a manicure/pedicure person, so the facial is a great luxury. So, let's start with the good: the facials are usually very relaxing. They play nice background music, use quality products, and the chairs are very comfy. The selection of "elite" facials is also really great - I suggest that you check the website to find out what suits your interest. So far, my favorite is the Casmara, but it's not for everyone since for about 5 minutes you're completely covered in a mask (including your eyes and mouth). As for the cons... as another reviewer noted, the room is just one open space, and conversations are easily overheard. This can be awkward when they're asking about your medical situation (ie, what medications you're currently taking). Even just a curtain around each individual chair would be an improvement. Additionally (and this one is big for me), lately they've been trying to 'upsell' the facial I'm already paying $79 for. You know, the "for the best results, you should add this for $12, and this for $25." I'm not talking about the "product push," I'm talking about tacking additions on to the facial itself. I'm trying to relax, and don't want to have to deal with a sales pitch. Overall, though, I'd recommend you give it a try - they do run quite a few Groupons, so get in on a discount and see what you think!

Hello Earlier today,…read moreas a birthday gift to myself, I decided to pamper myself and get my first ever bikini wax. Brazil on the Hill received some pretty good reviews and it was close by, so I put my faith in them to rip out my hair. Getting an appointment was super easy, but when I got there, I was left waiting for around 10 minutes after my appointment time. I filled out the sheet saying specifically that I have sensitive skin. Once Katie came to take me to one of the back rooms, I explained to her that it was my first time ever getting waxed anywhere except my eyebrows. She told me we would do just a regular bikini at first instead of a full brazilian which sounded good to me. There was no consultation other than her telling me to keep my dress on and take off my panties and put them on the chair. Katie came back in and without letting me explain what I wanted, she started putting hot wax on my upper bikini line. And I commented, "ow, the wax is hot" and she didn't say anything about it. She proceeded to use a strip to rip my poor little hairs out. I've read a lot online on how you should always use hard wax on the bikini line, especially for sensitive skin, because it doesn't remove a layer of skin. There was no mention of what kind of wax used here on the website, waiver, or in person. The heat made me very uncomfortable and my skin is very irritated. When the first strip was pulled, I vocalized my pain, and Katie told me to be quiet because they "have other customers". In between strips, I tried to tell Katie what I wanted, and she told me that with my length of hair, what I wanted would look weird. I felt very uncomfortable by her saying that, because it seemed very judgmental, and people online say that esthetician should not be judgmental is because it is their job to look at people's private parts. I should not have felt embarrassed about my body when someone is doing something very personal for my body. The wax continued to feel very hot on my sensitive skin. Katie went back over places multiple times with more wax strips which is dangerous because it removes a layer of skin every time. Hard wax can be used over spots multiple times but not soft wax (which again, was not advertised). When she was done with the regular bikini, she asked me to sit up and look at what I have to see if I wanted to continue with a brazilian or an extended bikini. My skin was sticking to itself because it still had wax residue on it, which was painful on my red, bleeding, sensitive skin. When I said I was done, Katie (very aggressively) rubbed oil into my freshly waxed skin and I vocalized "that hurts" and she did not respond. Once she was done, she just walked out. No words on aftercare, or if I was even ready to go and put on my panties again on my bleeding, oily skin. I would have loved to hear about aftercare from a professional to avoid ingrown hairs because I'm susceptible to them, but I didn't get any assistance. For a first timer, it was not the best way to end an appointment. Luckily I did get the 50% discount for being a new customer, but even the $18 I spent was not worth all the pain and discomfort (both physically and emotionally) I went through for a gift for myself on my birthday. EDIT I got a call earlier today from Katie herself apologizing for the service I received and she offered a full refund. I still didn't get the service I wanted or expected, but I added a star for the attempt to fix it.

Avanti was an excellent resource. I think I've been treated by almost every therapist in this clinic, and they've all been rockstars! Sometimes I've bounced around between therapists because they each have different specialties, and sometimes it's been because the schedules will fill up if you don't plan ahead. But I've never been disappointed with the care I received. It was incredibly difficult and frustrating to experience chronic pain as a 20something, but all therapists I worked with were cognizant of my frustration and and addressed my emotional difficulties as well as my physical issues. I worked most with Laura, Jeni, and Heather L, so I have to give them special shout outs! They all have different strengths and they have all been essential to my recovery. Unfortunately I moved away from Colorado not too long ago - I wish I could've taken Avanti with me! I have yet to find a place with therapists who are anywhere near as caring and understanding, not to mention knowledgable. I still have occasional flare ups of old issues, and thankfully I can use all the tricks they taught me to calm things down again. I don't know where I'd be without Avanti!

Folks need to know how awful this place is. I had a truly awful experience at Hello Sugar in Boulder. I booked my appointment online and arrived a few minutes early, but was left waiting for 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment, because the esthetician was running behind. When I asked to reschedule due to the delay, she had the audacity to tell me that I should be charged a late cancellation fee, even though I was on time and she was the one who was late. When I pointed this out, she dismissed me and refused to reschedule my appointment altogether. Her excuse? That she couldn't control other clients running late or if their appointment takes longer than what's allotted. While that may be true, it's not an excuse for poor time management or for not having policies in place to handle these situations. She didn't apologize for her delay, instead getting defensive and telling me I shouldn't have booked if I was on a tight schedule -- despite the fact that I would've been perfectly on time if she'd started at the scheduled hour. The attitude was rude and unprofessional, and the whole experience was a waste of time. I would not recommend this business to anyone.
