I had a consultation with Susan (who I immediately felt comfortable with) and she explained in detail the process, healing time, and what to expect. She was very interested in what I was wanting to achieve and asked multiple questions to make sure I was a good candidate for the procedure. I scheduled my appointment and couldn't wait! I did it and I love my lips! I guess I should back up and tell you little bit about the day of the procedure. I arrived in the office and it was clean and quiet and smelled wonderful ( a clean welcoming smell) I filled out the consent forms and then Susan led me back to a room. We further discussed again what look I was wanting and I brought in my three favorite lip colors so that she would have an idea of what I was looking for and was comfortable having on. She took before photos and then I laid down to get my lips numbed. While numbing Susan mixed my color. She then applied a few options to my natural lip to get the most accurate result I was looking for. (I would have been okay with any of the ones she had mixed up, but I had to pick just one :)). My color is a soft pink and very natural looking. Susan drew, and redrew, and drew on my lips until she had the lines perfect. We went with a rounded Cupid's now to achieve a youthful look. Susan is a perfectionist and honestly, it's permanent and on your face. So why settle for anything less?! The procedure was slightly painful, but extremely bearable. It's basically a tattoo on your lips (but a lot better equipment and color). The numbing cream numbs most of what you feel and you have to remember that the outcome is totally worth it! The aftercare is simple and she provided me with the necessary products. You will also schedule a follow up (or touch up) appointment for a couple months out. This follow up is included in the original price. So far it's one day after and my lips don't hurt. They feel more "chapped" but they look amazing already. They won't be completely done and set for about 21 days... but a little chapstick is all ya need. I will post photos. A before. A right after. A 1-day after. And a final result. A little background on me - I am 68, overweight but active and I probably get a deep tissue massage once every two weeks. It has been a stress relief, a proactive physical remedy and all around health benefit for 40 years. I have had massages in 20 different countries, most good, some really bad and a few really good. This massage, by Frankie was one of the best ever! She takes the time, off the clock, to ask the right questions. Then, when she starts the massage, she is so intuitive to know just the right things to do, adding stretching when needed. I felt like she worked on me for two hours. It was truly amazing! My friend had recommended Youthbar to me as we had been talking about her migraines and our RBFs and how it's helped her. I called in I was met with one of the friendliest receptionists I have ever come across. She was patient with despite my many questions and talkative nature and when she couldn't answer my questions, she booked the free consultation for me where I could ask all the questions I wanted. My consultation was with Meadow. She was very friendly, answered all of my questions, and didn't push me on getting more done than I wanted. She made me feel so comfortable I ended up doing the procedure! It was quick, minimal pain, and I am so happy with the results! My take on all parts of this business is below. Procedures: Frown Lines - I have botox to correct my frown lines around my eyebrows. While the frown lines weren't terrible to begin with, this is a preventative measure to make sure they don't worsen over time. Pain is like a 2/10 for me and there were no scars. The effects started around day three. It was weird not being able to make my "mad" face anymore. Added benefits aside from how it looks are I'm not squinting at my computer screen, my headaches have been reduced to minimal pain or nothing, and I truly believe my mood has improved because of it. I genuinely feel happier since doing this. Lip Flip - My top lip would curl under leaving a line whenever I would smile. It has been something I've been very self conscious of and originally thought I wanted a lip filler to help correct it. Meadow gave me more information about the lip flip and we decided to try that to start out instead of the lip fillers. The pain was a little more than the forehead since there are more nerves in my upper lip but they kindly put numbing gel on before hand to reduce the discomfort. Minimal bleeding but the results ended up being better than I expected. The lip flip has softened my smile preventing my lip from coming up so high it make my lip curl and now it sits beautifully above my teeth and you can see the pink of my top lip! I'm extremely happy with it and it has improved my confidence to smile in my pictures again. Overall Experience was amazing. From the people who work here, the ease of booking appointments, and help people like me feel good about themselves, I am so glad I was recommended this place. Had my hair that color before and I really missed that look. Marissa took the time to explain to me the challenges of getting my hair that color and also maintenance. (Avoid washing frequently, wash in cold water, use hair color products) I really appreciated that. Because my natural hair -black was already growing out and much of it was blonde the team collaborated and recommended dark red up top and bright red at the bottom. I asked for a simple, one-length cut, which should be basic, yet it was not executed well despite her claiming 16 years of experience. She spent a lot of time talking and trying to make it seem like I, the customer, was wrong or didn't understand hair. If the result had matched all that confidence, fine. But talking a lot and then failing to deliver is not good customer service. I'm really disappointed and now have to pay someone else to fix the uneven, poorly done work on my hair.
