I freaking love this pizza. I come from Ohio just to get it! It's not too much like a sit down restaurant. There's a couple booths and tables , but you sit down after you order at the front. I highly recommend this pizza to anyone stopping by! Over the years , we've gotten pizza, burgers and salads and so far no disappointment all praise! I need one by me hahah read more

This post is to warn others to stay away from this establishment!! Not only was the dining room, tables, and floors filthy, but the trash barrels were also overflowing onto the floor! The door to the street was open, letting flies and mosquitoes in, which I believe was an attempt to try to cool down the interior of the shop. The cashier behind the counter was busy chatting on their cell phone and gave little attention to me or other customers waiting to order. I ordered a pizza to go, and although it was edible, it didn't justify the cost of $8.00 'higher' then neighboring pizza shops in Salem for the exact same pizza! Don't waste your time or your money dining at engine house... read more

After a dissapointing lobster roll for lunch, pizza seemed the way to go. Visiting from Texas so don't know my way around so good but directions were simple enough . Walked in and met the owner Skott face to face with a big smile and helpful attitude we newbies settled on Buffalo wings & a calzone..... man what a treat!!! Buffalo wings were good as home you could smell em coming soon as he busted out of the kitchen with em & then the Calzone???? Well ..... awesomeness in a word!! Then to top off all this killer Food he comes out with this basket of embers or ashes idk but they were delicious too!!!! ThankYou Skott , for putting it out there like that . May you be blessed to continue this way for many, many years!!! Who needs a Catamaran when the life you're living is that kinda amazing!!! Best Wishes!!! read more

That pizza crust, doughhhh Get it? We stopped in on our way through MA and saw the 'best pizza since 1979' sign. We got two steak and cheese grinders, two beers and a big slice of pepperoni. The steak and cheese wasn't overly seasoned or salty which was awesome, and the bread was soft and chewy and perfect to sob up all the melted cheese and grease. Yumm read more

Engine House Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Salem, Massachusetts

I thought it was pretty good but I like any pizza. My gf wasn't a huge fan. I'd rank it as better than Santarpio's and plum house but not significantly. Have yet to really be blown away by pizza in the north shore read more

If I could give it over 5 stars I would. We ordered the steak bomb sandwich and it was delicious!! Everything was chopped up so you got a taste of everything in every bite. The roll was so fresh. Great grab and go place. read more

Stopped here while walking through the streets of Salem and wasn't disappointed. The pizza was great and not a bad price for a large pie. The guy making the pizza was friendly and was happy to fix a pizza for someone that is from the south. I'll be visiting again in October, so def will be stopping by. read more

Their pizza is decent. I appreciate that they do slices. It's reasonably priced and you can usually get in and out fairly quickly. The crust is crispy and there is plenty of cheese. I ordered a large eggplant pie for delivery one time, and it was fine. It's sometimes the only place you can eat quickly during October, so I don't mind it. read more

Engine House Pizza - Slice of cheese - Pizza Near Me - Salem, Massachusetts

Great pie and amazing friendly staff. I'd deff recommend and will be back ! Also cool vintage arcade games.

This spot always seems kind of poppin, so I decided to check it out. It's pretty small inside, so I suggest getting takeout. You can also get pizza by the slice. The pizza is good, not amazing, but better than other places around. It's slightly greasy but I've had greasier. I've also had the salads. All the ingredients seem fresh and portions are good. However, I wish they were open a bit later for a late night snack. read more

Stopped in here with the kids when roaming around Salem. We loved the pizza and the kids enjoyed the chicken fingers. The staff were all super friendly and the owner even made fried dough balls for the kids! The restaurant was super clean and I loved the little video games to keep the kids busy. We will definitely be back there!!! read more

There are plenty of pizza and sub shops in Salem. Don't go to this one. Despite having it listed on the menu, they don't have any steak tips or any turkey for sandwiches, you never know what you are going to get when you receive your food because they don't bother to listen to you as you place your order, and then they want to argue with you when you ask for it to be made as you asked for in the first place. Go to Salem House of Pizza or Essex House of Pizza. You will get more for your money and your order will be made correctly, trust me. read more

I've eaten here before and the food was honestly probably a 3-3.5. Not bad, but nothing to write home about and that's why I never bothered to review it. However, after seeing how rude the person running their social media account has been to a local healthcare worker, I won't be back. I'm not quite sure what the angle/reason was for lashing out about someone's personal appearance but it was gross and unnecessary. It displayed a lack of judgment and frankly was mean-spirited. There are enough places that serve mediocre food for a fair price without personal insults... I'm sure I will be equally happy to select any of them instead. read more

Love this place :) the staff is awesome and while I do like the pizza I come for the cheesey fries. read more

Phenomenal quality pizza for the price. Pepperoni and green peppers with a local IPA on tap, what in the world could be better. Great service and went well with a bottle of wine at home. read more

Great food, wonderful service!!! The staff was so friendly and they played great music, all around good atmosphere,,,,, Would highly recommend! read more

Best pizza on the North Shore! Great draft beer as well. Not so much a "restaurant" as it is an old school pizza place, but that's a compliment. I've eaten here or ordered from here at least 10 times and it's always delicious. So they are consistent as well. Great crust. Fresh toppings. And amazing flavor!!!! I've had pizza in NYC and Brooklyn, and this is up there for sure. Go now!! read more

Came here for a quick slice with the family. The pizza was good, but the service was a little slow. I ordered a pie and 2 slices extra they brought out the 2 slices and 20minutes later the pie so my family and I were not able to eat all at the same time. I then tried to show the yelp reward of a free fountain drink and the employee said they don't accept yelp and did not honor the coupon. Overall I would rate it a 3 average pizza. read more

We were greeted right away, ordered a large custom pizza, along with a pepsi and bud light draft. We were going to eat there but decided to take it to go, no problem. The negative on this night, the bud light draft was horrible, flat and just not fresh. Secondy, you are only allowed 1 refill on pepsi fountain drinks...quit being so goddamn cheap. However, Pizza was really good and plentiful of toppings. Price not too bad. read more

Great food, service and location. Stopped in here while visiting Salem MA for an early dinner and it did not disappoint. The Cheesesteak was awesome, pizza was great, the whole family loved it. Oh, and not to mention great prices, very reasonable for the location and quality. read more

Hands down one of the best places to grab a pie in the North Shore. And with the beer tap, you can't go wrong. Across the street from the main Salem FD headquarters, you don't get more idyllic dowmtown Salem than engine house. The place is a little rustic in comparison to how shops are built today, this lends charm to the location. The staff have always been good throughout the years, service is quick, and sometimes the small dining area is just enough space for the patrons. read more

Great pizza and mozzarella sticks excellent service everyone is helpful and great communication definitely recommend when I come back to Salem read more

Great local joint, and I do mean "local." Despite the occasional little mobs of tourists passing through on weekends, this place is down-home local to the core. Half the staff lives right here down the street on the "Point, " which I consider to be one of Salem's definingly vibrant neighborhoods. Straight up, down to earth, honest food. Super kid-friendly, with Nickelodeon usually running on one of their TVs. (Parent-friendly too, with unexpectedly good beers on tap, and good old PBRs for 2 bucks a pint.) The owner's a decent guy, who can often be seen working in the kitchen. The rest of the staff is friendly almost to a fault. I feel at home at this place. read more

Was super disappointed by staff. Unwelcoming and the young guy behind the counter acted completely bothered every time something was asked. Dining area was dirty. The lady delivered the appetizers to the table with marinara dip that had a dead fly on the lid. Pizza was ok, nothing special and def would not go back due to lack of cleanliness read more

Well, i'm not gonna lie- I do like their Pizza. However, they some of the biggest jerks in salem on their staff. last weekend, my husband and I ordered a pizza from there. about 20 minutes later the delivery girl shows up and buzzes the door. I came down to answer a minute later and she was trying to call my cell phone on her cell phone. when I answered, she said "oh, I just tried to call you" and stuck her cell phone in her pocket. Well, apparently she didn't turn it off. So after a brief pleasant chat with her, I came upstairs with our pizza and a few minutes later my phone beeped like I had a message. For the next 10 minutes, I listened to her (and what must have been her boyfriend) conversation in her car. It went something like this: Idiot Boyfriend (here by known as IBF): "So was it some black guy that answered the door?" (I live in the point) Engine House Delivery Girl (here by known as EHDG): "No, it was some fat white girl" (now i'm not skinny by any stretch of imagination, but she works as a pizza delivery girl and was wearing a scrubby sweatshirt and was at least 50lbs overweight herself) IBF: "Is this root beer?" EHDG: "Yeah, it was free so shut up. It's funny how you know what someone is going to look like when you drive up to their house" IBF: "I know. Hahahaa" EHDG: "Remember that one white house that I told you about where I know the guy kills little kids" IBF: "yeah, that guy is a creep" This conversation went on for about 10 minutes, until she pulled up to her next delivery house and realized her phone was on. I'm furious that I gave her a tip. Tip to Engine House: fire your rude staff and your pizza would taste much better. read more

I was in here the other day... The person preparing the food wasn't wearing a mask. I turned around and left. Completely unacceptable... It's sad because I've been going to this restaurant for years, since the 1980s. I don't think I'll be back... read more

I have eaten in this restaurant two times. The first time I ate here I had pizza and it was fairly good. The restaurant is somewhat in disarray the benches need some help and the light globes are held together with tape. The second time we placed our order and waited at least 20 minutes before I went up to find out where our food was. The lady at the counter said, "you didn't get it yet?" About 5 minutes later then order came out and was incorrect. That required a redo. I had a dinner (chicken, broccoli and penne) that was recommended to me by the lady taking orders and it was canned products. Lousy sauce, frozen broccoli and watery noodles. I am not sure if this was an off night but I was not impressed and think I can find a better local place for pizza, etc. the next time I am looking for the next type of cuisine. read more

I set myself up for a disappointment I suppose.. Looking at the outside, I felt that this place might just be a new staple location during our Salem visit. That being said, I was disappointed to say the least. I'll preface in stating that my pizzology include have locations all over RI, MA, and the better establishments in CT; and Engine House's pizza was a soft 6 out of 10. A little on the oily side and sauce lacked character. We had a large cheese. And a side of fries. I didn't bother to see if stays open until 1-2am, but this is the kind of pie that would hit the spot after an all night pub crawl... However, I'm a semi- new dad and new hubby, so pub-crawls are typically no longer on my itinerary. In all, with other better pizzerias in the area, I'll just say there are better options... read more

Ahhh...the old Engine House. Great place in Downtown Salem to come have a cheap beer and some pizza. They do have a full menu with north shore sub shop style grub, but you might want to stick with the pizza. A very distinct pie; it falls somewhere in between Boston "North End" style pizza and that greasy pizza from your childhood you just can't get enough of. They supposedly use a special kind of mozzerella cheese, and it does taste pretty damn good. Real chewy. And sometimes if you're lucky you get a couple big bubbles from the crust coming through the cheese...mmm... This is a definite must try for any out of towners. Skip the Upper Crust and come have a slice or five here. Oh yeah, they also deliver and they do have real good fresh chicken fingers, if that's your thing. Cluck cluck! read more

Greasy Italian style Pizza. Menu consists of classic Pizza place Fair. Lots of deep fried offerings, subs, salads Cold Tap Beer and of course Pizza. My family and I really liked the Pizza. It did seem to have a floppy crust that lends itself well to a fold and eat. Good stuff! No Gluten Free Pizza. There are GF options but by the looks of the kitchen i doubt it could be kept free of possible contamination. read more

Well the eggplant parm had few eggplant and tasted like plastic. The sauce sucked. The meatball sub tasted like fish, they forgot my large mozzarella sticks (12.95) and fortunately you can't fuck up a Greek salad. Not a fan. The pizza is bland. The sauce tastes like paste and the cheese has weird consistency not having much flavor at all. They charge $4.00 for Slice cheese that's a bit ridiculous unless your in the north end eating pizza made with premium fresh ingredients. The tables were not clean and the floor was sticky I work in the area and always try and give places a fair chance but I will not return as this was my third time there and it was very disappointing. read more

Not my favorite pizza at all, my sister LOVES it. I can't see why, but everyone has different taste. The crust is floppy, the cheese was a thick blob of dairy on top of a crust that couldn't support it, and taste wise it was just ok. There is better pizza out there for me than this. Maybe an off night? Don't know, to be fair my sister LOVES it and ordered it like 3 times in one week after she first tried them out. read more
