This pizza was great, from the crust to the cheese. Loved it! Steak and cheese was amazing bread was so fresh and soft. The service was great, friendly and quick. Place has great firefighter appreciation vibes.

I was in Boston for my niece's volleyball tournament and had the chance to check out Salem. We decided to have dinner here and it certainly did not disappoint. The pizza here is really good and came out hot and fresh. The crust was crispy (not overly crispy) and held the toppings well; the sauce was tasty. The price for two small pizzas, four drinks and mozzarella sticks was not super expensive and worth every penny. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and the cheese pull was great! Scott and the guy making the pizza were super nice and this place had a nice quaint ambiance. You had Miami Vice playing on the TV and all the good 80's songs playing...very 80's east coast pizzeria. IMO it's well worth a visit to this little gem.

A another pizza stop in my day in Salem. The only one that was reasonable prices. A slice of cheese and a coke for $5. Located right next the fire station this has a welcoming enviorment with a couple arcarde games in the back corner. Pizza was ok. Nothing special, but when factoring in the price it was the best of the ones I tried.

April 17, 2026 I…read morewent with my parents tonight to the Adriatic Restaurant (Washington Street), Salem, MA. We've started having dinner out twice a month and this was the most recent experience. I had gone online to the NORTH SHORE DINNING PAGE on Facebook and asked people about their experiences with the restaurant in the last two days and here's what people said: "great, tender meatballs", "great eggplant parmigiana", "very good experience". .... And what we found out is that they were right. Those things were all true! Now.... As to what we ordered: I got the grilled octopus. It was the only partial miss on the menu. Arugula just doesn't make a very good sauce and it was a pretty bad base for what would otherwise might have been a great appetizer. My mother got the Caesar salad. It was good. It's a hard thing to screw up. My father ordered the meatballs. They were amazing and delicious - just like Facebook promised. The tzatziki sauce was good. Maybe not as good as mine, but good nonetheless. So dinner.... Mine was the Chicken Saltimboca. It was so good that I'd bathe in the sauce they make with it. I loved eating forkfuls of the chicken with bites of the mashed potatoes. That was really luxuriant. My mother had the Eggplant parmigiana and she wiped out the entire plate. She loved it. My father.... Beef tenderloin tips. Maybe cooked slightly too much, but delicious. He wiped out the plate. To drink.... I was out of the hospital and recovering from brain tumor surgery, so I had the hard cider (3.5% BV), my father had the Peroni (Italian) beer, and my mother had the Bud light. I tasted the Peroni and liked it very much. The hard cider had almost no sweetness to it. It was dry as a higher end brut champagne.... Which actually set off the meal really nicely. My tastes weren't clashing and that was good. Our waiter, Sean, was great. Ask for him! We left a $32 tip, so the bill came to $197.85

I had a delicious espresso martini and for apps I tried the arancini and picked off my sister's caesar salad. They were both alright, but the caesar could've used more dressing and I didn't love the flavor of the arancini - just a bit bland. For my entree I had the shrimp scampi. This also really lacked flavor, and I was yearning for more tomatoes. The service was great and our waitress Leanna was attentive and super sweet. They had clean bathrooms and ample parking out front and around the block. However, the food wasn't memorable, and I don't think I'll go out of my way to return.

She was patient and kind and took the time to understand what we needed. We ordered cocktails... because tonight was the last night I could before I re-start chemotherapy. Both my father and I ordered the Sangria ($14.00) ... And it was *amazing*. Honestly, it was the best I've had since my best friend and I drank together at a Flamenco restaurant in Montreal in June of 1985. My mother ordered the house dry red wine ($10.00) I didn't taste it and she didn't mention whether it was good or not. We ordered one Ceasar Salad ($10.00) and it was both really generous and incredibly delicious (see photo). My parents and I split it three was and it was plenty. The tang of the dressing really worked against the sardines and garlic. I'd definitely go back for more of that!! For dinner, my mother ordered the beef special.... Beef Braciole ($33.00) in an epic sauce. She loved it... but definitely could not finish it!! She brought the leftovers home (as did my father and I). My father ordered the Veal parmigiana ($29.99) and it was a massive, almost overwhelming plate of food (photo attached). He loved it (as did I when I tasted it!). For me?? I ordered the Pollo Vodka Bella Napoli ($26.99 - photo attached). It was a huge, almost overwhelming bowl of food and it was amazing. Deep, rich flavor with mushrooms, bacon, shallots, and tender chunks of chicken. The noodles we all ordered were the home made & hand-made fusilli that are produced in-house. I think that if a chef is going to spend the time necessary to make noodles, you should savor them... and that's what we did. Suzanne offered us a chance at dessert, but we declined, since we knew that if any of us ate a bite more, we would hit critical mass and destroy at least the surrounding block. The only weak point we encountered was the bread. It was weak, drab, and lacking in taste and character. They could do much better on that. Our bill, with taxes, was $162.62. With tip, it came to $195. Totally worth it!

The seafood chowder has a good amount of seafood (shrimp with some scallops), but the seafood was mushy. The chowder was also lacking flavor. The chicken parmigiana was not as good as Olive Garden. The chicken was mushy, and the sauce was watered down/thin.

When we arrived the place was nearly empty, which come to find out places aren't as busy on a Monday. There was one other table finishing up in the main dinning area, and one other group arrived at the same time we did. We were greeted and sat quickly, but that's where the speed of things kinda came to a slow down. I'll start with some of the positives - our waitress was really nice and she had a helper who also was nothing but polite and friendly. The decor is really cool! There was no one in the entire back room of the restaurant, so I went and took a peak back there on the way to the bathroom and it had old cameras, typewriters, cool pieces of art, the main room also have some great scales of justice, and other fun features. They also had all the Halloween decor, if anyone needed to use the restroom we were told to go towards the large mirror, and I would always add on to my friends "with the creepy doll on it". After about 2 to 3 minutes my entire party had and water was brought to the table and served in plastic cups. Which at a place with white table clothes felt a little strange. At some point after our waitress returned to take drink orders and an appetizer of the calamari. She then asked "have I offered you all any bread yet" we said no, but we would love bread. She said "okay it will be $3" and walked away. We all kinda looked at each other confused, because the phrasing seemed like it was complementary bread but we were really hungry at this point and the bread ended up being really good - but it was a small portion for $3. I think 6 thinner slices in total. We waited a while before she returned for our food order. The menu has what you expect from an Italian places but also has a large section of Mexican dishes, which feels mismatched, it wasn't fusion style it was just Italian and Mexican separately, it just feels really disjointed. I went with the bolognese and one of my friends decided to order the tacos because it felt so silly to do in an Italian spot (and who doesn't like tacos generally). The calamari came out at some point after the bread, but we finished the bread, the calamari, and all our waters at a causal pace after that. We were sitting for a while before anyone came back to the room where we were seated. At this point there were maybe 3 or 4 tables sat in our room and possible one other couple up towards the front area. As many of us were out of water, I headed up towards the bar area or host stand to see if I could find someone. I ran into the guy who was assisting with our table and asked if we could get some more water - which happened promptly. About 5 to 10 minutes after that our waitress returned with even more water and told us food would be out soon. The food arrived maybe 10 minutes after that, so it had been a while since we ordered. The bolognese was fine, the pasta wasn't overcooked, the sauce lacked some depth and the meat was a little firmer than anticipated but overall it was still okay. They did offer some Parmesan cheese to be added to any of the pastas or tacos. The total for 5 people, with no alcohol, one soda, one order of calamari, the $3 bread, and the already added gratuity (which they did mention was already added in at 20% and it was also stated on the bill) ended up being $208. Overall, the food was fine, nothing to make a special trip for. Service was friendly, but very slow. The vibes were a little mismatched - Mexican food with Italian food and plastic cups with white table clothes. Overall, it's a fine experience if you are needing a reservation.

I ordered the Cabanara and was charged to add shrimp. This was astoundingly disappointing! I found a measly three, maybe four, overcooked shrimp; the sauce lacked flavor, carbonara, or alfredo sauce, as the menu suggests. I had to add a ton of salt, black pepper, and my own grated parmesan cheese to make it remotely palatable. Picture for reference. Typically, dining in I would alert staff right away. I tried messaging them on FB, and they have yet to respond. Unfortunately, I do not foresee us using them anytime soon.

Restaurant Week, as per the Salem Chamber of Commerce's website, is summed up as: "Participating restaurants offered special two- and three-course prix-fixe menus, giving locals and visitors alike a chance to explore, support, and celebrate Salem's vibrant dining scene." For $45 I got cheddar jalapeño fritters, a poutine burger (hamburger with fries cheese and gravy on top, kale Caesar salad with freshly grated cheese, and fresh, piping hot apple cider donuts. The burger was hearty, the fritters popped, and the donuts hit the spot but by far the standout was the kale caesar salad with the creamy dressing over crispy and crunchy kale topped with the tangy grated cheese. A Downeast cider washed it all down and was refreshing. I went on a weekday so there were a few people sitting at the bar with me but overall the place wasn't packed. What I really appreciated was the general manager came to talk to me specifically about their Restaurant Week food selection and to get my feedback. She was super friendly and I told her about the kale caesar salad. Parking is on the street and can be hit or miss because The Babe is right on Washington Street where it starts to curve around the corner. It's worth it to keep circling though. The Babe has different events each night of the week, including Jazz Tuesdays and karaoke Fridays. I had a great time at The Babe and I appreciate how much they support the local Salem community.
