Came here on a busy Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, we were told by the staff that they had forgotten to pick up fresh bread for the day so they could not serve any of their sandwiches. Aside from that, great staff and even better food! Tried their steak and left impressed. Very juicy! read more

Ends Meat - Steak and potatoes - Butcher Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This is a review for lunch. My sandwich was amazing. I happened to be in the area looking for somewhere to eat and went into the food hall. I got the Hogfather with nduja. It was amazing. All of the meats and cheeses are made by Ends Meat. The nice guy behind the counter recommended this sandwich as his favorite, and suggested I get the nduja with it. The nduja pairs well with the other meats and cheeses in the sandwich due to the high fat content. I would definitely come back for lunch, and to get some sausage that in the case to take home. read more

Take all of the best aspects of recent food movements, throw em in a food processor, and you end up with Ends Meat. You want locally sourced and farm-to-table? You got it. I can even tell you which farm they get their cows from. You want someone who cares about their craft? John butchers and cures his meats on site. You want paleo? Doesn't get more paleo than huge slabs of meat. You want vegan? Well, okay... maybe you can't have that. Ends Meat has been on my radar for quite some time. My friends used to do the charcuterie club from John, and I had my first taste at Pig Island, where they made pork nuggets, brats, and brought along some delicious 'nduja. It was definitely the longest line, and with good reason! Now, they have a storefront at the Industry City food hall. They serve well-crafted sandwiches (with both meat and veggie options) at very reasonable prices, especially considering how much food you get. I was lucky enough to try all of their non-vegetarian sandwiches - the Pigstrami, the chicken chorizo, and the chopped cheesesteak. They were all really, really delicious. My favorite was the chicken chorizo, which came with avocado, black bean spread and pickled red onions. Basically a bunch of my favorite sandwich ingredients. The Pigstrami was also tasty, with heaping piles of pastrami, topped with Swiss and pickle slaw. And lastly, I also liked the chopped cheesesteak, although it wasn't what I expected. It wasn't a traditional cheesesteak, and came on ciabatta bread, but had the typical toppings - provolone, peppers and onions. The steak was also more of a stewed consistency rather than chips. Once you get past that, it's a very good sandwich. Just calibrate your expectations accordingly! I like that they toast all the sandwiches before handing them over. It may take an extra 30 seconds, but trust me, patience is a virtue! We also had the chance to try some of their sides. The specials of the day were beets and zucchini with almonds (which was all kinds of refreshing) and a black bean salad with kale and feta (a bit heavier, but a great mix of fall flavors). Oh, and they also have soup. They're really going over the top with their food options, but somehow they do it all very well. Their soups du jour were beef lentil and creamy mushroom. The mushroom was probably one of the best soups I've ever had in recent memory. Great flavors and seasoning, and something that'll be great to warm yourself up on a winter day. Of course, there's also the charcuterie that started it all. Like the lunch menu, there's an extensive selection available. The coppa was amazing, and the two sausages I tried were great (the chorizo seco and the saucisson sec). You can tell that there was a lot of thought and effort put into curing and maintaining everything. I also can't say enough good things about John, the owner. He's one of the nicest guys in the world and incredibly humble. Come in when it's not the lunch rush, and he'll be happy to have a conversation about anything and everything. I would be remiss if I didn't mention their new meat club (http://www.endsmeatnyc.com/meat-club). We immediately signed up for the half share option and just picked up our meat in Park Slope. I'll be back with an update on how everything was! John also told us that they're also going to start opening on weekends on Smorgasborg (Saturdays at first, starting on 10/17!) P.S. It took me entirely too long to get the pun of the name "Ends Meat". I may be stupid. read more

Went to get the chicken cutlet. I had been passing by for weeks now and finally decided to give it a go. Man, that chicken will fill you up quick fast and in a hurry. Its very tasty and the bread is crisp. That's all there is to it. I will return when the need for some real good chicken cutlet arises. read more

I love having this spot as my neighborhood butcher, but would go out of my way to come here even before we lived nearby. Super high quality and great variety - have made the my best brisket, roast chickens and ramen (broth and chashu pork) thanks to this place. They also have terrific charcuterie and cheese and are super nice. Can't recommend them highly enough! read more

If you are ordering delivery, order one for every person in the room. No matter how NOT hungry they are lol. The look, the smell... OMG!! They will be asking for a bite.... AND THEN THE TASTE HITS and suddenly you are sharing a half a sandwich... what a sad experience :). Lolol beef neck sandwich!!! no facts were exaggerated ;) read more

This place is unreal!! I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich, which is a must-get! Also, had their daily special, which was a steak and potatoes meal that was more of a 4-star dish. Though I kid you not, the chicken sandwich was worth going back for lunch part deux. It's more of a chicken schnitzel than your typical fried chicken sandwich . I only wish I lived closer so I could honestly sample each sandwich - but the GF nixed that one. Either way, if you're in the area, make this the stop of the day as you won't be disappointed. read more

Can't go wrong here. I came in yesterday for lunch and was greeted by a friendly staff. Wish I got their names so I could give them a shout. I got the beef neck. Cooked to order. Took about 10-15 minutes. I would have waited an hour easily. The sandwich was delicious. Beef was crispy. The sauce on it was refreshing and complimented the crisp beef well. The bread was bakery quality. Can't think of many better and more unique menu items at this price point. Thanks guys. See ya soon. Oh, and Industry City is just awesome. read more

The cotechino sandwich was very good. The bread form the bakery on Court Street is dope. Eat this.

Got the chili and pulled pork sandwich with a friend her. The food is fresh and amazing. The sandwich was over flowing with soft pulled pork abs the chili was delicious. Would definitely come back again and get a cheese plate with meat. read more

You ever feel intimidated in a butcher shop? What is that meat what do I cook with it, any recommendations? These folks will chat you up and you'll leave with some great ideas for your next meal. Also, on each of the 3 visits I've made there I've been offered some delicious sample from their kitchen. Also also also, they are part of the Local Roots CSA and we get some great meats from them I otherwise would not have purchased in the store for example: the cheddarwurst. Cheddarwurst is not something that sounded particularly appealing at the time but tasted great. Their cured meats are also excellent. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do! read more

Small, family owned, and unique! I love this place. It has tasty sandwiches, friendly staff and a great selection of antibiotic free, local farm fresh meats...what's not to love! read more

Food was served fast and the meat was tasty, however you can taste the soap detergent in the food mixed with pig fat in my vegetable soup. The server although friendly could not stop winking which made us feel uncomfortable. Not expensive but would not repeat. read more

I was visiting the area fir New York Fashion Week and was intrigued by the beefneck sandwich. The staff was knowledgeable about the meats and told me the places locally that they get their ingredients . The sandwich was beyond delicious... I cannot even put it into words. Go the Ends Meat as soon as possible.. read more

Came upon this delightful little eatery 7/15 purely by accident. You can order beautiful whole cuts of meat and charcuterie by the pound at the butchers counter. The real gem is the small 7 or 8 seat lunch counter. The staff is attentive and gregarious and will greet you and offer you a menu promptly upon arrival. It was 95 degrees out so I asked what beers they had on tap. Their beer selection is small and is only 4 or 5 beers on tap and small selection of various cans and bottles, but is carefully curated and the guys working took great pride in explaining the beers and why they put the ones they did on the menu. I was offered samples of the beers and went went with a delicious sour while mulling over the menu. Here is the problem if you want to call it that. The menu is tiny at about 8 or 10 items with no sides, but they all looked incredible. I discussed with the gentleman serving me for 5+ minutes what I should I pick. On his expert recommendation I went with a roasted pork and cabbage slaw sandwich. Oh man, what a treat. Super slow roasted pork shank, yes shank soft succulent overnight roasted melt in your mouth shank, a sharp and vinegary red cabbage slaw, and some I'm thinking dill pickles thinly sliced, topped with a smattering of Calabrian chile, piled high on a toasted 8ish inch roll. This sandwich was absolute perfection. The rich fatty succulent pork shank was perfectly balanced by the acid from the slaw and pickles which cut through the richness and the slight heat and fruity smokiness from the chillis rounded out the sandwich. The bread was no slouch either and was crusty, yet chewy outside and light and air inside, toasted to perfection. I hadn't eaten for a full day at this point and with no sides this sandwich left me stuffed. While there and chatting with the cooks and butchers about cooking and future menu ideas a small delivery came in that the kitchen staff was going to experiment with for some specials. It was all top notch stuff like salt packed capers and real salt packed anchovies, not that Cento garbage. The produce in that order looked amazing as well. I couldn't have made the sandwich I enjoyed for the price I paid. They really cut no corners with their ingredients. Before you question the meat prices from their butcher shop from behind a computer screen you have to see product in person. The meat is all incredibly well marbled, the pork is a whole different color and vibrancy than what you get at Shoprite. When the staff cares and truly takes pride in their work, when the owner cares and truly takes pride in his work, and when you have only the finest most carefully curated products that your staff is passionate about this whole long winded ovation can be summed up in only one word, perfection. read more

As a former vegetarian & someone that cares for the health of their family ... this is the best meat to eat if you are going to eat any . Like they say , happy animals make better tasting meat . It's a full butchery, but I mostly go for the sandwiches; the Hogfather with nduja is my personal favorite. The guys on staff are always really friendly which is always a plus read more

Ran into this place while shopping around the corner. They have a regular sandwich menu and a second menu that changes daily. Everyone was genuinely nice and enjoys what they do. Made from local sustainable meat which is cool but more importantly, its affordable. The sandwiches are amazing and delectable. I also saw some pickled goodies that I'll probably pick up next time. If your in the mood for home made meat sandwiches, head here. You won't be disappointed. read more

We found this shop in the back corner of the inside market. Passionate, knowledgeable, happy we were intrigued by the selection. On vacation we could not grill the amazing selection of meats offered we opted for sublime sopprasetta, salami, a soft fragrant cheese and crusty bread. They had a story to each one we selected I do not remember the exact names. Everything was fresh and delicious! read more

The cheese burger here is AWESOME! A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Definitely coming back.

John knows what he's doing. The sandwiches, the soups, the charcuterie that tastes like what you imagined charcuterie should be like in the heart of italy, but then it's actually hard to find even there. I just had a sweet potato soup - yes, potato soup, that made me kneel in prayer and weep publicly. What I'm trying to communicate is that they're good. Check them out. read more

The bacon and pate sandwich is one of the best things that I have ever put in my mouth. This place is a must visit everytime I am in industry city. Even if I am not eating it right then. That sand6is so good that I will order 2 of them so I can have another one later in the day. If you ain't been to this butcher/sandwich God you are missing out on life.... read more

Hell yeah! AWESOME sandwiches at a fair price for this market! I love a place that has different cuts and products and has someone knowledgeable behind the counter. It just so happened that I ran into the owner who'm i've bumped into years ago while his Charcuterie CSA was just starting off. If you see this place I recommend you stop and order some food. read more

This place has the freshest most inventive sandwiches I've come across. A farm fresh salumeria that uses the freshest ingredients. If I had to invent a complaint it would be that sometimes they run out of the special, but that's only because they try to keep waste as low as possible. Being able to watch them prep is also appealing. Being able to watch them carve means it's as fresh as possible. read more

The best porchetta sandwich I've ever had. I split the sandwich with my husband and we both regretted doing so because the sandwich is so damn good. Not spicey at all. The kimchi worked really well with the sandwich and the pickle. Next time a whole sandwich each! read more

Short, simple menu, executed flawlessly. The bread is unbelievable too. My only gripe was that the kombucha was a bit thin and bitter but I came here for the sandwich so it would be unfair to take a star off for the booch. read more

One of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had!!! For $10, I got the pork belly sandwich and quite an experience. The guys here are very friendly, despite the fact you walk in seeing them hacking away at the corpse of a pig right on the front counter... very Brooklyn. He gave me some great recommendations on what to try. I ordered and waited a few minutes as they prepared it. The sandwich is on the smaller size for $10, but the flavor is so amazing! So many complex flavors coming together. The meat! The sauce! The veggies! SO GOOD! Highly recommend! And be prepared to wait in a ling during prime lunch hour! read more

Staff was extremely friendly. We got two burgers with the works. The burgers were absolutely delicious. Everything on it was amazing- pickles, bacon, etc. The meat was cooked well and so tasty. A little pricey for just a burger but you pay for the quality. read more

YUM, we went over to Industry City on a Saturday to check out the Flea, and I was HUNG OVER and I wanted a meatball sandwich. Sadly a lot of venues in IC were closed on Saturday, but Ends Meat was open and it was great. The interior and vibe was so honest and natural and you could tell the guy who owns and runs it loves what he he does. This is even more apparent in the quality of his food, all of which he is passionate about giving you something good, wholesome, and different. The meatball sub was delicious - every part of it - the cheese, bread and meat. I'm a huge fan. read more

Full disclosure: I do not eat meat and cannot give an objective view of the main attraction. Why do I like to go for lunch at a meat shop? Unexpectedly, they have a special vegetarian sandwich on the menu every day. I applaud them for being so inclusive. I've sampled everything from a very amazing veggie burger to a falafel wrap. They also have sides and salads, the soup of the day is often vegetarian, and they make their own pickles. I've even tried some kombucha iced tea there, which was too sour for me but maybe that's just what the cool kids are doing these days. In addition, the guys who run the shop are always really nice. Go check it out! read more

Ends Meat is located in an up and coming neighborhood of Brooklyn in a facility not unlike the Gansevoort market on 14th street in Manhattan. In addition to being a cute butcher shop, this place is a phenomenal little hidden gem of a restaurant, doing occasional prix fix dinners. All in, my guess is there are less than 30 seats in the place, and everyone is served at once. I came on a Friday night as a group of 4 (we had made reservations about 2 weeks in advance) and enjoyed a really lovely multi course meal with wine pairing. I believe that the menu, and the wine pairings, change regularly. While everything was delicious, and deliciously prepared, the steak was some of the best I've ever had. Also, I actually felt that the meal was a great value at $150/pp including wine - I left very full and very tipsy. We also ended up bringing home a little selection of cured meat for home, and that turned out to be lovely as well. As a warning though, if you come here for dinner be prepared to walk a bit for the bathrooms, which are down the hall - definitely not a deal breaker. read more

Awesome sandwich, I got the pork trio. It had ham, pork belly, pork pate and some pickled veggies. With a cup of their pork broth lentil soup. I wish I worked in the building so I could come here more often. Super nice staff with good ass food to boot! read more

The sandwiches weren't amazing, but just ok. The pigstrami was my favorite out of the ones we tried. The muffaleta was pre-made and kind of stale. Not worth a special trip, but ok if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Had their full roast pig at event in Industry City and was blown away. The ribs, the tenderloin, the sauce, the sides. Nice guys too.

I had super high hopes for this place based on reviews and web site, however, we ordered $60 and change of various cured meats to sample what they offer and they arrived smelling very heavily of chemicals and tasted like the same chemical scent - all of them the same! It was so bad it was nearly gag-inducing, making them completely inedible. On top of that, I ordered 2 of the same item and they only sent 1 and each item has price tags that were lower than what I was charged (and it wasn't bc of shipping, as that was paid separately). I reached out to them TWICE, first about the missing item and again after we tasted them, and was ignored both times. Very unfortunate. read more

I've never been disappointed here. Food is Delicious, employees are helpful and friendly. Often times you can watch the butcher's working while waiting for your order. They really go above and beyond with the service. I eat here pretty often. Be warned... they use a lot of mustard, mustard seed. Not a bad thing for me but some may not like it. read more

I'm writing a review after having had only one sandwich from the place, but that sandwich was so good I'm inspired to write a review about it. It was the pate and bacon sandwich, and it was killer. It wasn't huge or overspilling but it was very rich and delicious. It may be a little too rich for some people, but I like rich, and it had kimchi on it that offset the richness perfectly. I also sampled the chorizo which, for chorizo fans, you might want to check this one out--the best I've ever had. This sandwich wasn't cheap, but I considered it money well spent. It was that good. read more

Soooooo good. The Beef neck sandwich was delicious. I'm planning on having the meatball sandwich next time.
