The staff (usually the same two baristas) are incredibly friendly. We actually sat along the back counter and played Jenga as they had it available. Our drinks were really good too. There was only one employee who I'm assuming was the owner. He was kind and worked as fast as he could so a line didn't form. It was pretty toasty in the cafe though. It was mid afternoon and the sun was coming into the windows pretty harshly so it was warm in there. We were only there for a brief time so it wasn't that bad.

This is evident from the name Lucy -- the 3 million year old hominid discovered in Ethiopia and sometimes referred to as "the mother of us all", the understated murals, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful baristas, and of course the curated and highly enjoyable set of coffee beverages. My favorite is the macchiato, but every drink is an adventure of taste, aroma and texture that reflects refined coffee craftsmanship. The coffee is complemented by a delicious assortment of Ethiopian food and desserts, and a welcoming community. Lucy must be experienced to be truly appreciated. Once you do, you will recognize that Lucy feels like home -- on the first and every visit.

Like other reviewers I heard about the Sonoma Chicken Panini. What I as a man who rarely shops at Whole Foods didn't key in on is that Sonoma chicken literally refers to chicken salad. Feeling bad about not utilizing such a cozy place often enough, when I was running errands in the area, I was eager to spare 10 minutes out of my day to re-appreciate it with a cup of latte. The lady upfront was welcoming. The temperature outside was warmer for a typical mid-November day and yet seeing her smile warmed me up more. As usual, I got me a triple latte in a medium size cup. I'm between cappuccino or loaded latte (meaning extra shot); lately a triple latte has been my go to. My latte was made generously all the way up to the rim of the cup. And when I took my first sip, I got the instant gratification; it truly hit the spot. Cuteness is what this shop is all about. The decors throughout the store are adorable. Some goods are for sale. I took the time to look around and take some photos. Every visitor should find at least a few items that pique their curiosity and interest.

Such a home-y vibe!…read more It's inside of a church! I was driving a friend from Centennial to Aurora and this place was perfectly on the way. Literally nothing much else around AT ALL. It was a SINGLE pin on my google map - no pins near it at all! I must have pinned this at some point as "a place to go to sometime when in the area" but I really can't remember pinning it and am not sure why I would pin a coffee shop located in a church! However! This is the second coffee shop that I've seen in Denver while driving by - like located as part of a massive church, so it was interesting to actually be checking it out. It was a weekday and there was a vast parking lot and there were like 4 cars. LOTS of parking! Once inside, I immediately relaxed! Didn't even know I was tense! There was so much to look at and it smelled so good inside. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. Something baked tho. My eyes wandered everywhere over the various retail areas, the furniture - couches to patio furniture, the people behind the counter, the various large chalkboards, menus, etc. Lots to look at. I wound up getting a spicy chai! I never order chai! I must have been under some strange spell from being immersed in the warm comforting baked goods aroma! The spicy chai had KICK! It was so good that I ordered a second one to go! My friend ordered that ham+cheese biscuit which looked amazing, with those cheese legs dripping! Whoa! It was such a nice coffee + conversation vibe. I would totally go again if I am ever in that area again! Oh! The 2 behind the counter were very friendly and knowledgeable about their vast variety of menu and drink items!

I wish it would have been a bit thicker but all in all it was very scrumptious. For that donut cake alone I would definitely come back.
