Buyer Beware - Bait and Switch:…read more I was looking for a place to get highlights in my hair. There is a salon close to my home. When I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon, I was told partial highlights would be 95.00 and I made an appointment for that Saturday. When I got home I told my husband I had made an appointment. He asked if it was Bishop's Salon. He mentioned our neighbor went there and liked the salon. I called Bishop's and asked how much the cost was to do partial highlights. The woman I spoke with said highlights done by the associate would be $90, or an appointment with the owner would be 140.00 because of her experience. I made an appointment with the associate and I then canceled the first appointment I made with the first Salon. I arrived for my appointment at Bishop's at 9 and Zaynab took me back right away. She did a nice job and the highlights looked good. As I was checking out, a woman named Frederica, said the total was $150.00. I let her know that when I booked the appointment they quoted me $90.00 with Zaynab or $140.00 with the owner, Mitzi. Frederica told me $90.00 was for color, not partial highlights (although I specifically requested partial highlights when I called to ask the price). I paid it since the work was done and there was no price list in the shop to refer to, only my telephone conversation. When I got home I told my husband about the change it price, we decided to go back and speak with the owner. The girl that checked me out was at the counter and I asked her to explain the $60 price difference again to the two of us. She said it was for color, not highlights. I asked to speak to the owner. When Mitzi came to the counter, I explained that I was quoted $90.00 and that I canceled the appointment with the other Salon because the prices quoted were close. She said: "No one at Bishop's would have said that." and asked "Don't you I think that $140 was a fair price?" I told her she could charge whatever she wanted, but I was quoted $90.00. Mitzi said, "I don't believe you." At that point we left the salon, there would have been no point in further discussion since she essentially called me a liar. If they would have quoted me 140.00 for the partial highlights, I would have just kept the appointment at the first salon. Zaynab did a fine job with the highlights of my hair. My complaints are with the price charged vs what i was quoted and secondly the rude way I was treated when discussing the situation with the owner.

They do ok work but way too pricy and last appointment I made..... my stylist was out sick so they got someone in training to do my hair while someone "supervised" that was crap. No supervision and my highlights and cut was crap, but I still got charged for a professional to do my hair not someone in training. The main reason I am writing is we are moving back and I will NOT go back to Bishops. NOW HERE IS THE REAL KICKER!!! I worked at City LImits Cafe and several people from Bishop's ordered food and wanted it delivered. No problem. I had to use my after work time my car my gas to deliver their food and not one of them tipped me. Not even a dollar or a penny, but they sure do want their tips. Selfish people!!!!!

I was referred to Nan. I should have known she was terrible from the unappreciative response I received when I called her to make an appointment. She said, "Um how did you hear about me?" Like she wasn't to be bothered with new clients. Out of desperation, I made an appointment. The place is very so-so and gives you zero feeling whatsoever. But let's talk about Nanette! I was blonde at the time and basically just needed a root touch-up. She was pretty cold and didn't make me feel welcomed in her chair. She started asking me questions about where I went to school and realized I went to high school with a client of hers (I was in college at this point). Sooo then she takes her phone out of her apron and CALLS this person's mother to tell her she's doing her daughter's former classmate's hair. Ummmmmmmm??? So unprofessional. Continues to have about a 10 minute conversation revealing my name (without any consent from me) then leaves after my roots were covered and processing. After the bleach and whatever else was washed out of my hair, Nan told me she had another client and was running late, so I needed to dry my own hair. So I did. And I've never been back there again. Color wasn't the best. Nan sucks.

I couldn't afford to go to my $70 haircut place but my hair looked awful, so a friend recommended Hairvoyant. I was extremely pleased with the way I looked and the haircut held up after I washed it and still looked good. I don't really care about the decor of my hair salon. Sure it's nice to go somewhere that looks like a spa, but it doesn't justify paying twice as much for a haircut, and this is how I feel about Hairvoyant. The decor is basic salon, but the stylists are a cut above the norm.

I have never written a negative review in my life and simply put this review is the result of the…read moreway I was spoken to and hung up on mid conversation by the manager Donna at this salon. The call left me in tears as I've never experienced something like that. I've been getting Brazilian blowouts for years and decided to book one at Hunter Paige as they had a lot of free openings. The service was listed as the original "Brazilian Blowout" on their website. At the start of my appointment, my stylist flippantly mentioned how great it was that the new formula no longer had formaldehyde -- I hadn't heard of this before so when I asked if it would have the same effect, I was assured it would. It did not. What she put on my hair was the "Brazilian Blowout Free"treatment, which is a completely different product and without formaldehyde the end result is extremely different. After one wash, my hair looked completely untreated. When I called to address this, manager Donna hung up on me mid-conversation and told me 'no one else has complained, therefore your complaint is invalid.' She had no intention of hearing me out and every intention of dismissing me and being defensive. I followed up with a detailed email outlining my concerns and have received no reply. I later had the original Brazilian Blowout done at another salon, where my stylist confirmed the two formulas are entirely different treatments with different results -- and that the free formula has received many complaints. The Brazilian Blowout company's own website confirms these are two different products requiring separate certifications. The free formula was only introduced to the market in early 2025, yet I was told by Donna that they had been using it for 5 years ( which would be impossible)-- but I guess that was her way of saying they don't need to inform clients that they are going to provide a different service than the one they have listed on their website. Both the stylist and manager at Hunter Paige appear to lack the basic product education that should be required before performing and representing this treatment to clients. The photo difference speaks for itself. At the end of the day, they misrepresented and misled me on the product they were offering, and when asked a basic question about it, they were simply incorrect. It took me about 10 minutes of research to disprove every single argument they made to me. I deserved accurate information before my appointment, or at the very least an honest answer when I asked directly in the chair, not a bait and switch, a dismissive hang up, and silence. Although this review is specific to the Brazilian blowout treatment, I would not recommend this salon for anything based on the customer service I experienced from the manager. At the end of the day being kind and respectful costs absolutely nothing and would have gone a long way even if a refund wasn't possible. After talking with others who have been to the salon I know I'm not the only one who feels this way about the management.

I had 3-4 expensive Japanese hair straightening treatments there over a year and a half, and at first I wasn't sure, but after an August 2023 appointment I realized they damaged my hair.
