I found myself booking at Massage Luxe because I was gifted a Spa Finder gift card for my birthday, and Massage Luxe was one of the few Nashville spas listed. I saw it was in the capitol view area which I like and figured it might have a system/vibe similar to the Massage Envy chain but a smidge nicer. (and I was right) My massage therapist was nice and a decent massager. She did check in on pressure level and how I was doing. I did have to wait a little prior to, and the appointment didn't seem long or like my full time allotted, even considering the prep/brief undressing period. The time I sat waiting still seemed to take up more than needed with a shorter actual massage time. The therapist covered pretty much all areas though and doesn't usually work on a Sunday but had come in for one of her other steady clients. After my massage I was invited by the staff to try the hydro therapy bed which is like getting massage with shooting water. This was complimentary probably bc was my very 1st visit. They don't really limit you on the time you spend in there or didn't seem so but also don't go crazy. I really enjoyed my 15 minutes!! It was a cool experience, and I could've even been good with 10 minutes. You control the intensity and speed. And no you don't get wet at all. I had never heard of that and would recommend it or use the machine again. This alone added a star or half star to my rating. Overall I got the decent experience I expected. Didn't have super high expectations - was just grateful for a massage; I am still a fan of Escape but if you need a monthly in and out more affordable setup, consider Massage Luxe. They do offer a discount for your very first service. Parking in the garage by Publix is easy & accessible. Brief walk to the spa. read more

This was one of the top 5 worst massages I've ever had. I called to make an appt for a 90 min massage and I asked several questiosn about the therapist. It was clear the person who answered was just trying to fill the calendar bc she lied about every question I asked. It was in fact Not 90 minutes. It was not relaxing at all. They asked if I wanted my face touched and I was very clear multiple times that I didnt want my face touched. The therapist touched all over my face for several minutes. At this point, I was so irritated that it would have been difficult to make it a good massage. The therapist was unorganized and didnt do the same things on each side of my body which I thought was weird. She stopped prob 20-25 times to do something. I dont know what. And the gloves she used for part of the massage was weird AF. Overall, terrible. And I called and messaged the co several times afterward and waited 4 days hoping to hear back; and since I didnt, I deed died they dont seem to care and I will give my experience. read more

I am a Professional Athlete and the massage made me more sore than when I came in!!!! Honestly one of the worst massages I've ever had. I called afterwards to try to speak with a manager but they never got back to me... oh well! Anyways paid for an hour but my massage was only 35- 40 minutes. Asked for deep tissue but I don't know what that massage was! It was extremely painful... she kept pinching my pressure points! At one point I even screamed because why would you just pinch someone's pressure points on their shoulder as hard as you can and continuously do it! She spent about 25 minutes on my shoulders doing absolutely nothing. Then proceeded to give me a quick Swedish massage over the rest of my body while still pinching my pressure points. As I mentioned, being an athlete I need my body to work!!! After the massage, I was in more pain and had to take a rest day the following day because I couldn't move my neck or shoulders!!!!!!!!!! read more

I am an optimistic person- every time I come I hope I'll get a great massage. It took me a few years as a member ( I got a great price during a special so it was hard to give up) to realize that I usually left here not feeling great. Positives- clean reception area, restrooms, waiting area and massage rooms. The seemingly ever changing staff is also friendly. There is a hydro massage you can use for 10 minutes anytime as a member. The emails for available times and for online forms are easy to navigate. And twice I got facials that were nice and very professionally handled and explained to me as things were happening. Negatives- the only thing I can honestly say is it's hard to land on a massage therapist that listens to what you want as many just do what they are used to doing. I tried a variety and finally found one but she left and went to a different salon. That's what I noticed too- many massage therapists came and left. I did see some names that have been here for a while but I tried them and do not care for their style. I tried! And I am not picky! Maybe others like having legs and arms contorted and stretched , or jerky movements all over but not me. Just keep it simple and relaxing. I'm bummed but this is an average experience if you just come for a massage. If I ever need a massage again I will skip the chain, spend more and go to a spa. And when I cancelled my membership I was never thanked for spending my money here for 3 years. That perturbed me and made me realize I made a good decision to leave. read more

I visited MassageLuxe for a 90 minute deep tissue massage and this spa did not disappoint. Even though I called to make the reservation the same day, the staff was extremely accommodating. The vibes were calm and relaxing, and it smelled absolutely amazing throughout the building. I pulled a muscle in my back earlier in the week and I left MassageLuxe completely PAIN FREE! I was visiting Nashville on a vacation with my daughter. She had never had a massage before. I was expecting to come into a relaxed place and leave even more relaxed. Unfortunately, the massage therapists were 15 min late. They kept assuring us they were coming and that we'd get our full hour. Well, they did come late, but we only got a total of 50 min which included the robing/derobing. When I entered the room the therapist asked what I had come in for?? He obviously was the one late and didn't look at my forms. The massage was mediocre. Repetitive strokes but really not memorable. After it was over he said he'd meet us outside with water. Well..he wasn't there and m, when he did appear, no water. It was just disappointing that this was my daughter's first experience. I assured her it's not normally like this. Atleast it was a Groupon price, which maybe they knew. . I still tipped as it was full price even though it was subpar. read more

Scheduled a couple's massage for a birthday gift. It was great! Check in was easy and quick. The location was sleek and clean, parking was easy to find, and the waiting room was relaxing and more than I was hoping for. Filling out the waivers and consent form was quick. Within about 5 minutes, we were in the back about 8 ft apart in a room that had a sliding divider. We got 1 male and 1 female masseuse. Both were amazing, very relaxing and I even fell asleep for almost the whole time. Pressure was perfect. Next time we will opt for the 2 hour massage. Looking into the memberships because you can use them at any location and they don't have contracts! read more

I was a member here for a long time and ended up canceling my membership because I couldn't afford it any longer. They provided me with 3 gift cards to "cash" me out for the remaining hours of service I had. Fast forward to today, I tried to use those gift cards during a couples massage and found out they had a 6 month expiration date. The manager didn't even try to talk through solutions and said there was nothing that could be done. I had paid for those hours already, and now I not only lost them but had to pay 300+ out of pocket to pay for the massages today. I will not be returning. This seems like poor business practice to put an expiration date on gift cards from a membership where services had been prepaid for. Very disappointing. read more

I have been a member here for 8-10 months. The therapists are hit and miss. I've had very good massage therapists and some that just didn't seem to receive the best training. (Leaving the room to go "potty" is unprofessional). I guess when you have to go you have to go. I have also had a facial to change up my services a bit. (Big mistake! I will leave it right there!) Be ready for a lot of upselling which is very annoying when you just want to go in and get a relaxing massage and not be pitched additional services (I realize this is part of the whole membership business, I just don't want to be harassed with more services. If I wanted more I would ask for more or plan that ahead of time) MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT.... They advertise the membership with a 60 minute massage and I have never received more than a 45-50 minute massage. EVER! I had added a scalp treatment on one massage service and even with the added treatment my time was still less than 45 minutes on the table. The massage was one of the better ones but I still felt shorted. When I inquired at the front desk the girl said it's only a 50 minute massage to allow me to dress/undress. This is absurd. A 60 minute massage is just that... a full 60 minute hands on massage. It's trickery to me and I want to provide my honest feedback. read more

I am very familiar with the brand, Massage Luxe, from their reputation from when I lived in St. Louis. They are headquartered there. I was very excited to see they were running a special on massages for $35. I bought myself one and my friend one for her Christmas present. She has yet to go, but I can't wait to hear about her experience once she does. I booked my appointment on a day where I had been dealing with some back issues and needed to be stretched and massaged out. A couple of months ago, I suffered from a wreck and have been going to physical therapy. In addition to the physical therapy, I thought it would be beneficial to have both a massage and the aforementioned. When I first arrived for my initial appointment, I was greeted by very nice staff who had smiles and a genuine interest in my business. They were communicative on what I should expect and explained to me how the session will go down. You sign a consent form via iPad followed by being led into a room where water and tea are available to sip on while you wait for your massage therapist to come to retrieve you. Then they lead you to your massage room. You have a small consultation, they step out while you undress, then they return upon knocking on the door to make sure you're comfortable for them to enter the room. They ask if you have any areas you do not want to touch and you give consent on what is and is not comfortable for you. My first time going, I had a female who I had a small consultation with. She did a couple of things on my back before she relented and acknowledged that she did not feel comfortable massaging my back due to the stuff we talked about with my injury. This in turn, really frustrated me, but I do not hold any ill-will against her. She took the liberty to get the manager of the place to come talk to me about it. I reciprocated her sentiment that I'd get a doctor's note giving Massage Luxe the OK to give me the massage. The manager was very professional in how she handled the situation with me and how we discussed the matter at hand. She gave me a complimentary 30 minutes onto my session that I would book and return to the next day with a different massage therapist who would be comfortable to work on me. The initial therapist said she'd be fine to work on me as long as I had the doctor's note, but I opted to forgo using her altogether. This turned out to be a very sound decision. Hunter, my massage therapist, turned out to be just what I needed. I had a 90 minutes session with him and he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He communicated with me throughout the session and offered to talk as little or as much as I engaged him. I usually do not talk during massage sessions, but due to the nature of my injury, the communication was necessary and enjoyable. He has a great demeanor and sense of humor. I valued his work ethic and his knowledge of how to soothe me despite the tension I had in my back and shoulders. I feel that I had a very good experience here at Massage Luxe despite the first hiccup, but with that being all over and done with, I feel confident in my choice to return and hopefully make this an ongoing thing in my road to recovery for my back and physical sanity. read more

I am beyond bummed to report that after being a member for two years things have gone down downhill at this location. If you don't mind getting massaged by a different person every visit, then this may be the spot for you, but I have one therapist that I've seen for two years and I'm not comfortable seeing anyone else. I just found out when an appointment got canceled with six hours notice that they had rebooked me with an entirely different therapist at some point since I made the appt almost six weeks ago? My now preferred. therapist is booked out almost 2 months in advance, and the answer from the assistant manager was essentially "too bad maybe try a different person?" Still stand by Sydney being the best, but don't bother trying to get on her schedule. read more

I was on vacation with my boyfriend and while walking the street we saw MassageLuXe and decided to walk in to see the options they had available. We ended up walking in on a day they were fully booked (which we understood) and decided to book for a couple days later. Everything was confirmed and set in stone. We even had to confirm with them.. and we did to be nice on our end because it's courteous. When we showed up DAYS later at 9am for a couples massage, the receptionist told us that one of the massage therapists didn't show up to work and they didn't have anything available until later and we would no longer have the massage together. We decided to politely decline because that wasn't what we signed up for or wanted and left. Not only did we wait several days to enjoy our massages but we woke up early and excited just to be told the morning of that we can't get our couples massage. It was very INCONSIDERATE in my opinion and we didn't even receive a phone call by them to at least cancel on their end!! They even asked for a card to be held on file in case WE didn't show up to make sure we would still be charged. The receptionist was very kind HOWEVER communication would've been nice between co-workers and to maybe give people more of a heads up when canceling what they were really looking forward to. I arrived 15 min early and was asked to wait in the lounge. No problem as my appointment was at 10am. By 10:20am no one had come to get me so I went to the front desk to ask if it would be much longer as now I would have to change my 90 min massage to a 60 min massage. The front desk girls both looked at each other and said, "is Gigi in?" I guess that was who was supposed to provide my service but wasn't even around. I can't believe there's no proper check-in process to let the masseuse know their client is there. Complete waste of my time. read more

Today was the second time I have been there and will be the last. I bought a gift certificate in December for 90 minute massage with two add-ons, I called and set up my appointment a couple of weeks ago and was told I would get an  hour massage and a facial. Arriving today, I was told there would be an extra 89.00 for the facial, which I was not told about when I scheduled the appointment, and the staff indicated that there would be a fee for cancelling the facial at the last minute, despite never saying there was an extra fee. They did wave the fee and acted like it was a favor to me despite not actually sharing the info.  They did say I would get two add-ons and chose the foot scrub and the hair treatment, so I went into my massage that was supposed to be 90 minutes, it started after 12pm and ended before 1pm and in my book that is not 90 minutes and did not receive the scalp treatment nor the foot scrub.  When I checked out, you charged me an extra 20 dollars despite the gift certificate supposedly covering the massage and two treatments. I will never return because Massage Luxe was directly misleading about the services and costs.  This is not good business or service. read more

Great massage all around. I went to Gabriella for my first session and she was incredible. I'm not an easy person to massage; I have extremely tight shoulders and back issues. It's hard for me to find a solid massage therapist who really makes a difference in my mobility. She gives just enough pressure that you will be "fixed" without getting bruised. I'm sore like I had a good work out & I'm really feeling great. Gabriella was so great I ended up purchasing a membership before leaving! All employees at this location were helpful and sweet. I had the introductory 60-minute Swedish massage with Sydney. I asked for firm pressure and she was able to work on getting the knots out in my back and shoulders. Staff is very friendly and the place is clean. My massage was on time and it was a comfortable atmosphere. The massage itself- worst one I have ever received. I opted for 'deep' pressure and it was barely any pressure at all. My massage therapist would put pressure on my body and then move on to the next body part and put pressure on it. Where is the massage part?? He spent about 15 seconds combined on my feet. Did not massage my neck or shoulders at all, which I specified that those are areas I desperately needed it.
