Epic customer service for the third time. I am once again updating my review and with very good reason. By some evil forces, my cute little new car had a tiny crack in the plastic covering of a rear tail light. I called ahead and spoke with Mary Ann. This phenomenal lady called other dealerships to find the part needed to make the repair and told me to bring it in any time the next day. I did so and Kevin and Mary Ann greeted me warmly and made me feel like I was meeting up with friends! Furthermore, to my pleasant and thankful surprise, they went ahead and had the dealership cover the $282 that I would have had to pay!! I was introduced to the service department gatekeeper, Rico. He was so pleasant and just as friendly as the wonderful Kevin and Mary Ann! He explained what he was going to do to make the repair and I handed over the keys. I wouldn't have minded waiting a while, as I was so happy it was going to be done for free, but as I was walking back to the dealership from the gas station across the street, Rico waved me down and informed me my vehicle's repairs were already completed! I just can't believe how this team at Encinitas Ford has WOW'd me again and again. Superior service is their standard here! Thanks Kevin, Mary Ann, and Rico! read more

Buying a car from Encinitas Ford was the best and easiest experience. There is no BS. Dave and Kevin listened to what I wanted and got exactly what I wanted. More of a family type dealership. read more

I would like to thank Encinitas Ford for their amazing customer service. My wife and I live near Phoenix and had been searching aggressively for a very specific "new" 2017 Expedition. We had exhausted our local resources when we came across an internet listing from Encinitas Ford that matched exactly what we wanted. My first point of contact was with Mary Ann, she was very knowledgeable and sweet. Once I confirmed the vehicle was available she connected me with Frank in sales. Frank was able to work with me by phone and email to achieve a great deal in hours. I flew out first thing the following morning and was greeted by Frank at the airport. Upon reaching the dealership, I was thrilled to find the vehicle was in better condition than what the pictures or Frank's thorough description could've provided. The most minor of issues had been addressed the night before and the vehicle was beautiful. In two hours I inspected it, drove it, signed all documents, and was on my way back to Phoenix. Lindsay in Finance was extremely helpful and sweet as she had extensive knowledge into the vehicle and set me up for success as I've never purchased an out-of-state vehicle before. She quickly ironed out a few minor price concerns to ensure my exact cost was what I was quoted the day before. Frank and the service department removed all stickers, checked the fluids and tires, gave it one more quick cleaning, and gave me a full tank of fuel to start my journey. I was extremely hesitant about the whole deal and how quickly it progressed as I'm normally a very cautious and hesitant personality. Encinitas Ford delivered well beyond my expectations and provided me a top notch car buying experience. I'm still in awe how fast, painless, and smooth the whole experience was. The service, communication, and friendliness will always be remembered and appreciated. Thank you so much Encinitas Ford! read more

Best auto buying experience I have ever had. I got really screwed on the last purchase I made, and communicated this to Drew who was awesome. No pressure, was more than accommodating considering I test drove 4 cars, and really catered to exactly what I was looking for. Even the finance guy Kevin was great. I will come here for future purchases as long as I live in the area... I drove all the way from santee and was so glad that I did. Ended up with a great deal on my 2015 fusion and a great value on my trade in. No haggling, no pressure. read more

So we didn't end up working out a deal with the staff at Encinitas Ford, but Nate and Kevin were pretty easy and simple to work with - and there were no issues or hidden fees, or lousy sales pitches. Overall a pretty solid experience, would definitely recommend this dealership. read more

My wife and I have been shopping on the Internet for a 2018 Ford Explorer platinum edition. I had selected three N. County Ford dealerships on the internet. Encinitas ford appeared in the responses to me to be better organized and more hungry than the others. They eventually contacted me but I had just completed surgery so I was not able to travel over to Encinitas Ford from Escondido. So the sales person "Dooley" brought the 2018 Explorer to me and my wife to test drive. When we decided that we wanted to buy the car he went back to Encinitas Ford and returned to our house in Escondido with the car plus an additional driver to take him back. We did all of the final paperwork on our dining room table. Both Dooley and Michelle have been fantastic and I would highly recommend any Fird purchaser in San Diego County to go to or contact Encinitas Ford before going anywhere else. read more

Be very careful of giving them your phone number. Encinitas Ford has a bit of an illegal habit of spamming their customer database with pre-recorded advertising messages over the phone. They sadly gained my cell phone number and I'm treated to their ads on a regular basis now. So I know this doesn't really apply to their core business of selling cars, but you might consider taking your business to another dealer that doesn't engage in things like this. read more

In short, I would definitely recommend going to see Reagan Brandon and the team at El Cajon for your next purchase. We spent a lot of time researching the car we wanted, but inevitably we had a few questions for each of dealerships we visited--most of the salespeople we interacted with weren't very knowledgeable about the car we wanted. Eventually we decided to make the trek to El Cajon Ford because they happened to have something very close to what we wanted in stock. After spending an hour looking around the lot and test driving cars we decided that we would buy the car through their team. Reagan was taking care of us and he was able to answer all of our questions and added a few other details about the two vehicles that we were considering that helped tremendously. They found the exact car we wanted that day and had it on the lot the next day for us. The rest of the process was easy and we were out the door in less than 2 hours from when we arrived to purchase our new car. Best car buying experience so far... read more

Made an appointment for an oil change. When I got there on time, wait was 2hrs long! Don't bother coming to this place.

Buyers avoid! They will sell you a brand new car (Ford Fusion Energi Titanium) with broken features, and then run. Tried to get it fixed, but they only did an oil change and spun the wheels. The sales person didn't help at all. Sent me nice (SPAM) emails, though. Tough luck! Will never work with them again. read more

I had leased a vehicle with this dealership over 4 years ago. Mary Ann was very nice to talk to. She is obviously the person who is best at getting people to come to the dealership. More recently I returned to the dealership to see about purchasing, but set up an appointment with Mary Ann to speak to a finance manager first so that I could assess what I could afford, etc. Mary Ann was going to be off on the Saturday I planned to visit but assured me that the finance person was expecting me and that they would take care of me. She also told me her assistant as well as the receptionist were expecting me and would be able to help. After over an hour stuck in traffic I finally arrived. As soon as I exited my vehicle, a salesperson approached. I told him I had an appointment to see the finance manager and wasn't necessarily ready to start looking at cars. Nevertheless, he still followed me inside. I told the receptionist I had an appointment. She looked at me like I was from outer space. I told her Mary Ann's assistant would know about my appointment. The sales person who followed me inside volunteered to retrieve Mary Ann's assistant (whose name now escapes me). The assistant came out and said she was confused as to why I was there because the sales guy told her I wasn't there to buy a car. Really??? I then showed her Mary Ann's email that told me to come in for AN APPOINTMENT with the finance manager. The assistant then goes back to find the finance manager and comes back to tell me that he is on a short lunch break because I was late. Mind you, Mary Ann's email stated they expected me between noon and 1. It was about 1:15 and I HAD CALLED FROM TRAFFIC TO TELL THEM I WAS STUCK to which they replied, "don't worry about it, we will be here." In the meantime, I'm standing in the reception area with the receptionist, the sales guy who followed me in, some other employee and a customer when Mary Ann's assistant starts telling me how she looked through Mary Ann's notes and then started blurting out my personal financial situation. I was mortified. She then told me she would find another finance manager to help me. She came back inside and told me he would help (I think his name was Doug??) and then REPEATED my financial situation that she had updated him with. Once he and I were in his office I told him I was completely mortified that Mary Ann's assistant would discuss my personal business out in the open. There are privacy laws! He was quite embarrassed and apologized. He said he would be speaking with her. I would say he was the only person I dealt with who showed any sort of professionalism. Needless to say, I never got a car and will never return there, nor would I recommend that dealership to anyone. I emailed Mary Ann the following day to tell her what happened. To this day, I have not received an apology from her or ANYONE from that dealership. On a side note, the interior of the dealership is overdue for a major makeover. Everything looks old and dirty. read more

I use to sell Toyotas,Acuras, and Pre-Owned Lexus, so maybe my point of view is different. I would have told you that I'd never own a Ford truck about a year ago, but after my wife bought her new Explorer this spring, we've been really happy. My Suburu was costing me more and more each month, so it was time to go and with it being the end of the year; I knew the good deals were to be had. I dealt with the internet, since that is what I'm use to; was not dissappointed. Great customer service, when I arrived Mike Miller greeted me, Nikki let Mike work with me, and was also graciously greeted by Scott Cook. I was very pleased in everyone's professionalism, and that is coming from a car guy who knows the business. Mike even brought me the paperwork/truck to my work the next day to finish the deal. I was stubborn about doing my financing with USAA, yet they were still professional about EVERYTHING! I had a couple of issues with a CD that was jammed and a screw in the rear passenger tire. Rigo is service was no exception and took great care of me, instead of fixing the tire, they gave me a new tire. I'm super stoked to be driving my F-150 FX4 and very impressed with all the staff at Encinitas Ford. Thank you everyone there for a great experience. I highly recommend this dealership!! read more

Called this company to see if I could make an appt for an oil change and tire air refill because my TPMS indicated low tire pressure. The person who answered the phone was very short with me and not helpful at all. All I was trying to do was ask questions about their service and the approximate price. I asked if they take walk-ins or if an appt was required. She sighed and said appts aren't required but are better. I asked if they have "The Works" oil change package, she sighed again (as if I was wasting her time by trying to be an informed customer who wanted to give them my business and money). She said yes we have "The Works" in a snooty annoyed tone of voice. Getting information from this person was like pulling teeth. I asked how much it cost, and again she answered in a snooty tone of voice, saying that it depends on what vehicle and how many quarts of oil it needs. I said, "well aren't you going to ask me the make, model and year of my Ford vehicle so you can give me a base estimate of the cost? This is the 5th Ford Dealership I've called today and I simply need an oil change, how Fucking hard is it to answer my basic questions and get a fucking oil change!!!" And then I hung up. I mean shit, why do I have to do her job for her? What is it with all these Ford Dealers lately. Overpriced shitty cars, shitty service, no appointments available on Saturday whenever you call, no wonder there are more Toyotas and Kias on the road here. Ford makes shit products, parts are always failing because of shotty design or trying to save a few pennies on manufacturing costs. After this vehicle, I will never buy another Ford or shop at any Ford Dealer ever again!! read more

As I sit here after two hours at the DMV I decided to right this review after a few months from purchasing my car here. I have to sit here and wait to get new license played for my car after 3 months of my purchase date. The dealership failed to tell me they had license played for my car and failed to tell if they went going to give them to me that they would order new ones!!! My sales person Oscar was very very pushy. I found a car online and went in to test drive it. I feel in love with the car but after a good wash found that the car a HUGE chip in the windshield!!! Oscar proceeded to tell me they sealed the chip and it was fine. Ummm... That's illegal to drive!! It was like pulling teeth to have then fix it for free! Also.. The pant was begging to corrode due to the acid in bird poop being left on the car! I barely got them to pay for half of a Teflon coat for the car! Nice people, terrible service I've only had 2 experiences with the service department at Encinitas Ford and both were bad. First, I received a coupon from Ford for a free oil change and called up Encinitas Ford to see if there was any way to schedule an appointment and quote "not wait 2 hours for the oil change." On the phone I was assured there would be no such wait and the service advisor cheerfully scheduled my appt. When I arrived for the oil change appointment, the service advisor told me they were a bit backed up and it would take 2 hours. I was a little upset after specifically being told on the phone it wouldn't take that long. It was free, however, so I didn't make a stink and just grinned and bared it. In the end it took 3 hours to get my car back. Later they followed up with me, heard of my bad experience and sent me a voucher for a free oil change. All in all, not a huge deal... The Second experience, I had 3 nuisance problems I wanted looked at one of which was my temperature control dial that had a spot on it where one click to the left would make it really cold and one click to the right would make it pretty warm. After spending $110 on each of the 3 items just to have them diagnosed, they told me the total repair bill would be north of $1500. Since these were nuisance items, I said I would forgo the repairs and just pick up my car. Shortly after leaving the dealership, I noticed the temperature control knob was set to the exact spot where I was having trouble, so they must have been able to reproduce the problem. However, I soon discovered that the knob no longer worked at all and I had no air conditioning (which was never a problem in the past). I drove back to the dealer, but since my car had been in the shop the entire day and they were about to close, I was told to bring it back in the morning. I ended up having to take some time off work to bring it in the next morning. In the end, they called me to say that it's just broken and there's nothing they can do but fix it for approximately $475. At one point my service advisor said maybe it was a coincidence that it broke while in their care. I thought to myself "I bet they have a lot of *coincidences* like that." They took no responsibility for breaking it and I was in a bind since it was north of 80 degrees and I need my air conditioning to work. In the end, I spent nearly $800 to get one tiny nuisance item fixed. Later they followed up with me like they had the first time and again offered to send me another voucher for a free oil change, which I declined as I would never bring my car there again. Lessons: 1. Don't take your car for service at Encinitas Ford. Maybe try the local Lincoln dealer instead, since they have much better Yelp reviews. 2. I should've asked up front how much the replacement cost would be for the items I had looked at before spending the $110 per item to have them diagnosed. Dealerships almost never "repair" small items like the things I was having checked out, instead they just replace whatever modules and kits are involved. I probably could've gotten prices for that upfront and saved a lot of money spent diagnosing problems I was unlikely to fix. 3. Don't be fooled by the pleasantness of the service advisors or the folks from Encinitas Ford that call to follow up on your visit. You're paying a lot of money to get good service and on that front they flunked badly in my experience. 4. For any car dealer you're reviewing, make sure you check the "not currently recommended" yelp reviews at the bottom. read more

I had purchased a F250 four weeks ago. I was promised that I would receive a call back within the day to set-up an appointment to install a back-up camera at costs. I'm sure after this post, they will call back and fulfil their promise. read more

THE TRIP FROM HELL . . . DUKE SAVED THE DAY! Duke in Service was awesome to me this past weekend. Never met him before . . . have never done business with Encinitas Ford before. Here's an abbreviated version of my day: Pulled over on my way from San Diego to Los Angeles to take a break. Couldn't get my car restarted . . . but finally did. Then I couldn't get my steering wheel to move. Called road service and they towed me to Encinitas Ford. Service mgr. Duke immediately sent my car in for an exam only to find out that a possum was trapped under the hood and it broke my steering wheel belt. Apparently this belt needs to be special ordered and nothing can be done before Monday. Duke never stopped working on ways we could get me to Los Angeles (my 93 year old mom was having a surprise birthday party the next day). He called several rental car places (they didn't have any cars available) . . . we thought about the train (but there were no trains running on a good schedule) . . . we discussed several "out of the box" ways to resolve my not sleeping in their waiting room. Just when I thought I had no choice but to ask a friend to come get me and take me home (missing my mom's party) . . . Duke and the staff found me a "loaner" car and got me on my way. The party was a success . . . my car is being fixed and I can tell you one thing for sure! From now on, I will definitely take the 30 minute drive from my house to Encinitas Ford to have Duke work on my car and have my business. There are so few really nice, concerned people out there these days . . . what a treat to meet a professional, sincere, concerned individual who cares about his clients! WAHOO TO ENCINITAS FORD . . . FOR GOING BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY TO MAKE A LOT OF PEOPLE (BESIDES MYSELF) HAPPY . . . you are all awesome! Thank you especially to Duke for being concerned when you didn't have to work so hard to resolve my problems. You're the best! P.S. By the way . . . the possum is alive, living in a new neighborhood and has a new, fashionable no tail or butt hair look! read more

I had my car towed into Encinitas Ford. I received an estimate to fix it for $1787.00. I was told that all of this work was either necessary or highly recommended to get my car running properly again. I also had to pay $140 for the diagnostic. After calling a few local mechanics, these charges seemed wrong and excessive, so I towed my car to a local mechanic. This mechanic found that the car had a blown fuse and bad connector at the fuel pump. The local mechanic replaced the fuse and connector for a total of $89.00. Been meaning to write this review for a while.... They had me come back in 3 SEPERATE times to resign the paperwork on financing my car. Every time I was asked to put more money down and the interest rate increased each and every time... Finally ending at 23.5 APR... Which is borderline illegal. Now the actual car i purchased... The first day I had it I mentioned to them that the transmission seemed shakey... They told me I just had to get used to it so I canceled the service appt i had set up. They assured me it would just take time. This being my first car, i thought the lag in acceleration could maybe just be normal until 5 months later, i received an extended 10 year warranty on the transmission. I guess Ford Focus' are known for this very issue. I would re-do this whole experience if I could. I absolutely hate this piece of crap car they sold me. Now i see why they were so eager to sell it and now I pay the price. Thanks alot Kevin! read more

I recently had a very unpleasant experience with sales and management staff at Encinitas Ford that I feel is worth sharing. I stopped by the dealership to see if they had any Ford Focus RS models in stock. They had one available in white with a posted MSRP price of $39,650. I was greeted by a salesman named Chris as I checked out the car. I asked Chris what the price was on the vehicle, he took a look at the sticker on the car and said that they would sell it for the MSRP $39,650. I was willing to pay MSRP for the vehicle, explained to Chris that I would purchase the vehicle for MSRP and then the conversation shifted to what trade-in value they would offer for my used Lexus. Chris took my keys to go check the mileage and condition. About 10-15 minutes later, Chris came back and told me that he spoke to his manager and that the price for the Focus RS was actually $49,650. Yes, that's correct...$10,000 more than the price listed on the vehicle and the price he had just offered. Understandably, I was disappointed with the news and, having already waited 15 minutes while he looked at my Lexus, I swiftly left the dealership. The whole experience left me feeling misled and wronged to say the least so decided to stop by the next day to speak to the Manager. My plan was to share my experience and see if management would honor not only the price that was listed on the vehicle, but also the sales price Chris had offered. I met with Scott Cook, Sales Director who said he had worked with the dealership for over 20 years. Scott said that Chris was wrong in offering that price and that the true price was $49,650. He then went on to explain that the price that they pay for the vehicle is only $1,800 less than the MSRP. Our conversation ended when he shut his office door for privacy and said that he would "give me a deal" and sell the vehicle for $5,000 over MSRP. So Scott was basically saying that he wouldn't honor the listed price and the price his salesperson's had offered (which was still $1,800 over the price they paid for the vehicle). No thanks. One has to question the ethics behind "dealership markup" in general. As a consumer, I would like to at least get some sort of discount and pay below MSRP (which I have always successfully accomplished in the past). On a new-release vehicle like the Focus RS, paying MSRP seems fair, but to inflate the price over MSRP (over 25% in this case) is clear price-gouging and it's unfortunate that a brand like Ford allows this behavior from their representative dealerships. In the end, my main gripe is that the vehicle was listed at $39,650, I was told that I could purchase a vehicle for $39,650 (a price that would make the dealership money) only to be told that they wouldn't sell me the vehicle for that price. Way to serve the customer Scott Cook and Encinitas Ford. read more

Bought a BRAND NEW 2019 F150 STX a couple weeks back from Encinitas Ford and i could not be happier. I had been looking for months as was convinced that i was going to have to buy a used truck. BUT, my wife found they had a 2019 STX with everything i wanted for just a little more than the used trucks i had been looking at. I called Encinitas Ford and spoke with Mariam (who was awesome by the way!) and she connected me with Paul who assured me that the deal we found was, in fact, real. I live in Orange County and needed to make sure that if i drove all the way to Encinitas, they weren't going to pull a fast one on me. Paul assured me the truck existed at the price advertised. We drove down there (note-try to avoid the 5 South on a Saturday, took almost 3 hours!), met with Paul, who introduced us to Andy who pulled the truck up and took me for a test drive. I was sold, but still skeptical about the price and waiting for the upsells to begin! It never happened, we did the usual new car buying deal quickly and i was outta there in a couple hours. I was very impressed with the low key, family atmosphere at Encinitas Ford. It's not some giant car dealership with slimy salespeople waiting to pounce on you. Mariam told me Encinitas Ford was a family run operation and i was happy to discover that it truly is. If you have the opportunity to purchase a car or truck from these folks, do it! We had the best experience with this dealership. My husband decided to try and get financed for a vehicle knowing we had not such good credit but it is getting better so we thought it was worth a shot. Made an appointment to come in and talk with a finance specialist. Showed up to the dealership in our beat up jeep Cherokee. (My husband and I work construction so our jeep is trashed). Our salesman Rick walked right up to us and instantly offered to help. He never looked down at us. He just made us feel welcome. He asked us what we were looking for. We explained we needed a truck and informed him of the truck my husband had seen on the website After speaking with his finance guy he took us to look at the truck. In no time Eric had us financed. Both my husband and I were super shocked and extremely excited. We now are owners of a Ford F250 and it's everything we could of asked for. Thank you Eric and Rick for making this deal so painless. You both are stand up guys and I will defiantly send more business your way. read more
