If I could give the store a zero I would but because of the limitations of Yelp, I am forced to give it a one. I am absolutely disgusted in the way I was treated and would not recommend this place to anyone. In fact I would consider these people scam artists and charlatans and not worthy of the craft they profess themselves to be masters of. In August of this year I purchased a reading with Lori for October. We planned my trip to Salem around this reading. A few days before the reading I was informed Lori was sick and would have to cancel. I was saddened but felt it had to have been meant to be and we still continued on with our trip was planned. I was so excited to visit her store and couldn't wait for it to open. In fact we were the first ones inside the store on Sunday and had been waiting outside for quite some time before hand. It was the first store I went into in Salem. Even though I wasn't getting the reading I had already paid for I still had saved up close to $500 And I was so excited to spend it on items that had been blessed or created by Lori. When I actually got in the store I was very taken aback by how rude the people working at her store were. They were not nice at all, they were not helpful, and in fact they were blatantly not interested in helping me or in the money that I was planning on spending. Before I left the store I asked the manager when he would be refunding everyone's money for readings that they were not being given because of her illness and I was told I would receive my money on Tuesday. After leaving Enchanted we visited Crows Haven because I knew that was Lori's former store. There I was greeted by her cousin who was more than willing to not only help me but when she learned of how I have been treated at enchanted and the fact that my reading had been canceled and how disappointed I was she actually gave me $50 off of my purchases that day. She was very kind very helpful and very apologetic for something that wasn't even her issue in the first place. I had a wonderful experience at crows Haven and would definitely recommend them to anybody seriously involved in the craft of Wiccan. To continue my ordeal with enchanted, It is currently Saturday I have called the store multiple times, and sent them emails. Nobody will speak with me on the phone or return my calls or emails. I am furious and disgusted because I still have not received my money back. I keep getting told things like oh we don't have a manager today or I have no idea when anybody who knows anything will be in today. And to add insult to injury, I was actually told by one of these idiots working for her that it's Halloween time and we're super busy. I actually told the guy so you're too super busy to give me back my money you took for a Reading I never had but you weren't too super busy to take my money two months ago, what's up with that. To that he replied I don't know what to tell you miss and hung up the phone. I am saddened to have to give this place such a negative review because I truly am such a believer and lover of Lori. I was so excited to meet her but not being able to meet her I was at least excited to go to her store. I am not now! I will never set foot in any place owned by her ever again nor will I recommend it to any of my fellow Wiccans. Crows Haven is my go to for anything from now on. read more

Enchanted is one of my favorite shops and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I've come to salem ma for supplies since I first started practicing and Enchanted always has something that catches your eye and the tarot readers are usually quite good. Their selection of supplies is organized pretty well, and the stones are reasonably priced but the literature section is a tiny bit limited and a bit over crowded by Laurie Cabot books which is great ( as it is her shop after all I get it completely!) I love her work but I wish there was more diversity in their selections of books. If you practice you'll be very comfortable here and the staff will be warm and receptive. Just a side note here, at their sister shop ( now closed) Pagan Moon- I had a wonderful Besom made for my hand fasting by Jeff. He was truly wonderful and made it with such a passion and I was so happy with it. He went above and beyond and made my hand fasting that much more special. Their crystal and stone selection rivals any small gem and mineral store I've ever visited, and their prices are very, very reasonable. Most notable, however, was the reading I received from Diane. Recently had a Reading with Paul last week. I will definitely say this. It is one thing if you truly possess the gift of psychic ability and really want to help people. But unfortunately there are some sick people in this world that thrive off of the money of saddened troubled people looking for Real honest answers instead of BS. No psychic will ever ever tell you a certain day or time something you are hoping will happen will happen because there is no timeframe in this field of work. I feel so sorry for anybody who comes into the shop looking for answers and is cheated out of their money and their time. I will never ever come here for anything ever again especially a reading. I failed to listen to my intuition and had an over the phone reading with julie ( not a real psychic /medium ) from the beginning of the phone call she sighed like she was aggravated or annoyed to do the reading and kept saying I don't know I don't know and debated and argued with me what do you know ????? The following had been my original review, which I am now editing to note that my refund has finally been received. The manager, Chris, was under the assumption that his bank had taken care of this, which it did; however, the refund was sent to the wrong person. So, once he and I were able to discuss this, he was very apologetic and immediately took care of the issue. Therefore my review has been amended and stars added. **On April 22, 2018, I registered for a Labor Day Weekend Intensive Workshop at Enchanted in Salem; I also put a charge of $225 on my credit card. The workshop itself was cancelled as the instructor was stuck in TX at the time of Hurricane Harvey and could not make it back to MA. On September 26, I emailed the store requesting a refund; no response. I once again emailed them on October 7; again no response. I called the store on October 16 and spoke to a very nice young man, who said he could not help me but would give my message to Chris, the manager of the store. I never got a return phone call. On October 27, I was again called the store and was fortunate enough to speak to Chris, who promised me that he would put the refund through that day to my credit card. That was never done. I called on November 8 and once again spoke to that nice young man and left yet another message. I never received a call back. I called on November 13 and left yet another message with a young woman and once again, no return phone call. I called the store today, November 20 and, unfortunately, that nice young man told me that Chris was on vacation. I have had enough. I have not as yet received my refund or had the courtesy of a return phone call from the manager. There is one star as a rating because Yelp does not let you post no stars.** read more

While checking out some of the shops at Pickering Wharf in Salem, my friends and I decided to visit Enchanted. Wow, what a great store. My friends and I loved it. I found a wonderful triplemoon pendant with imperial jasper in the center and several of my friends also bought triplemoon pendants. Wonderful selection of jewelry in this store as well as all kinds of crystals galore. The lady who helped us was so patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She was great! We visited Salem this weekend and found this gem along the wharf area. It was our first time in the shop after multiple outings to Salem. Great shop with many magickal and unique items. I had a reading with Matt while we were there. All I can say is Wow! I am still digesting everything he told me. This was one of the most amazing readings I have ever had! Great little shop. I was traveling to Salem for the first time and I was so disgusted with the tourist new age shops off of Essex street. Then I stumbled across Wharf street. This is where you find the shops for actual Pagans and not for people clamoring to see a "real witch". The staff was really helpful and I was shocked to see sage sticks that were actually cheaper than I can get at the new age shops at home. They had a nice selection, specifically with statues. Next time I'm in Salem this place will be on my list to visit again. read more

I also found a great set of tarot that turned out was his cards of choice as well. I purchased an additional book on tarot to give me another interpretation. Please! Be VERY LEERY of this business (especially this time of year). If you absolutely must make a purchase, make sure you get receipts for the product/service you are spending your hard earned dollars on. Like another reviewer, we purchased a $150.00 reading back in August with Laurie. It was to have taken place the first week of October. We planned our whole weekend around this reading with a hotel stay. The day before the reading - we received a "green light" confirmation that everything was a go. The next day (day of reading), we received a phone call exactly 1 hour before we were scheduled. A deadbeat employee by the name of Chris informed us that "Laurie has not been feeling well lately and we have to cancel immediately". We've very trusting, told this guy "we're sorry to hear the news", said we couldn't reschedule because of where we live, and politely asked for a refund. We were told, "you'd have it in a few days - no problems". Didn't receive so after 1 1/2 weeks, called back and was given a run around by other employees. We again were polite, left our phone number, and just asked if Chris could give us a quick call to update us as to refund. We were promised he would. Never happened. If indeed Laurie is sick and not around the business, seems like her employees are ripping-off some of the customers with their actions, or, lack thereof ("when the cats away, the mice will play"). There are other recent posts quite similar to mine - so my issue was not isolated. Their lack of focusing on their clients made this one horrible experience for us. Funny, they were quick to take our deposit for a reading, but, seemingly very reluctant/hesitant to give it back - all while they were the ones who canceled We were lucky. We had to invest a chunk of time with PayPal to receive a full refund and we did. Others of you might not be so lucky. We REPEAT - be leery of these people. Read the most RECENT posts about how they are conducting business. If you must purchase a product or service, MAKE SURE you get receipts and detailed information in writing. What a great experience while visiting such an enchanted city. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. I had a reading and they didn't ask for my sign or any info that would give them "tells." I enjoyed that both front and back of the house staff were not trying to push merchants. They were just full of knowledge and kindness. My review for why I'm not leaving a 5 star. A friend & I were visiting from out of state. I had a psychic reading done that was very spot on and I would describe the experience very worth it. We left the store, walked a few blocks then my friend decided she wanted a reading done too. The store had 20 minutes before closing time but the doors were already locked when we went back. So we decided to go first thing in the morning. The hours were posted to open at 11am. After waiting almost 30 mins we decided to leave. First off, I love Laurie and this review has NOTHING to do with her! This review is about the manager Chris Levasseur of the shop Enchanted: I paid $800 for two of Laurie's classes that were to take place in March & July of 2018. Unfortunately, my husband experienced a major health problem and I had to cancel my plans for the classes mid-February 2018. After many attempts to contact Chris, he replied via email that he spoke with Laurie & that I would recieve my $800 refund in a form of check. I waited and waited. On the next email he told me that he would cancel the "check" that he sent and sent another one. On the phone a week ago, he told me that he'd send out another check with a tracking number. I've yet to recieve this tracking number and yet again not another check. It's mid JUNE! As a business owner myself I can only say that this is completely unprofessional and at this point I'm calling it FRAUDULENT. I keep excellent records and the good news is that should I have to file against you... YOU will have to pay MY fees on top of my refund. POOR POOR POOR business management!!! read more

I have been going back and forth with the owner for a little over 2 years over an object I paid for but never received. At first it was "it had been mailed out" they could not produce a receipt saying that it was sent out. Then it was we have sent you the refund check, then the check is in the mail. Skip this one. On a recent trip to Salem to check out the sites, my family and I decided to check this shop out because of the great reviews. Typical tourist trap type of "new age " shop. Looks intriguing from the street but once inside, just your typical cluttered, overpriced place. While wandering happily through my other home and visiting those I love yesterday opportunity knocked and I answered; having wanted to do a reading with Mat Auryn since the day we first met.
