The new building/studios are beautiful, the atmosphere is challenging, yet still fun, and the people/instructors are the best you'll find in any New York City suburb. It is the perfect balance between preparing you for auditioning for companies and still letting each dancer have a fun, stress-relieving time (especially if going into ballet professionally isn't their cup of tea!) - a truly pre-professional school. They offer a wide variety of classes that all focus heavily on technique (the main focus of the studio is ballet). Dancers who start at the school at a young age and continue up through high school turn out to be excellent, extremely talented dancers with a devoted passion for the art, so I recommend enrolling as early as possible!

We explored options in Ridgefield and found Fred Astaire. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and the pricing was reasonable, so we signed up for a package of classes. On our first day in the studio, we were greeted by Sebastian, who would be our instructor for the weeks ahead. He was incredibly friendly and empathetic to our lack of dance experience, making us feel comfortable from day one. After each class, we felt more confident and prepared for our big day. Sebastian was patient and even taught us moves we could use at other weddings in the future. We had so much fun learning from him and soaking in the vibe of the staff and the other (more professional!) dancers in the studio. We would 10/10 recommend Fred Astaire and Sebastian if you're looking to learn a thing or two about rhythm! I actually am nostalgic thinking of this time last year with them. Thank you!!!!
