The Studio is my happy place. It's such a wonderful community of people who share the love of creating fun and beautiful art. I have been a member of The Studio for over 3 years and it's become such a big part of my life. Christine, Priscilla and all of the instructors are always so willing to help and answer my questions regarding anything clay and glazing. It really is such a warm and welcoming place to come and be creative. Pottery was new to me when I first started and I have really grown as a ceramist over my 3+ years coming here and I really enjoy creating pieces to give to my friends and family. I enrolled in Drawing Foundations recently and quickly decided it was not ideal. For $780.00 dollars I thought you would at least get a sketch pad because the site stated they provided the supplies. Nope, we got 2 sheets torn out by the instructor. The instructor also said the easels were from Bob Ross. So old they barely stood up. So I emailed to cancel and learned that the cancellation policy is not as clear as the admin. want you to believe. They advise that a class is $60.00, kind of leading you to think you can only pay for 1 class. But when you enroll you are presented with an installment plan (3 payments) or pay fully for the semester. When I tried to cancel via email I did not get a response so I texted Christine. She called 2 days later and said they had not received the email, but then magically Madeline said they did. Initially they wanted to refund me $20.00 for taking 1 class after paying $260.00. Since the math wasn't mathing I asked for an explanation. That's when I learned that I had to pay for the entire month even though I attended 1 class and the next week was a school holiday and there was no class. I was only able to get $80.00 as a refund. You will pay for the whole month whether you take all of the classes in that month or not. You cannot cancel and expect to pay for only one or two classes. Bottom line: shady and not worth the money. read more

The Studio is a piece of heaven for me. I restarted my pottery journey early this year as a new chapter in my pivot point in life and I intend to be a member forever!! In my first class, Christine was so welcoming and caring - it is enthralling to be present in her passion to let everyone be immersed in the joy of pottery. Priscilla is the same in her compassion and knowledge. They are two wonderful women who allow this beautiful place to flourish with incredible art lovers from all walks of life. Members come from all over Fairfield county and beyond - I'm lucky it is in my town. Teaching pottery is difficult because everyone progresses differently and the instructors here do an amazing job or balancing the individual handholding and maintaining order of the class. While I work on my pieces, I get to observe some of the instructors whether they teach a group class or a private tutoring class. To share a few shoutouts: Safiya is fantastic with teens in boot camps - (I just learned that she is starting to teach Friday evening classes!) Julie also is a caring and competent teacher. Cass is an outstanding instructor with a wealth of knowledge; and Kate is such a sweetie, too! All Everyone is here because we love the joy of creativity and respect each other's artistic abilities. I enjoy conversations that accompany creating art across diverse age/gender/backgrounds here. There's something for everyone. Whether you are a tired parent looking for a mental health respite, an exhausted soul looking to enrich your artistic side, or to glimpse wonders in your own creation in general, I would recommend that you pay a visit and talk to the owners what you would like to do. I started as a student at The Studio over a year ago. I took the adult courses in the evening and worked with Anne-Marie as my instructor. Anne-Marie was awesome and I quickly picked up the skills needed to work independently. After taking three sessions, it was deemed that I was capable enough to work on my own and I became a member. Since then, I've enjoyed my growth as a ceramicist as well as enjoying the community beside me! All the other members are super friendly and helpful when they can be. Kate, Priscilla, and Christine are so helpful and welcoming. It's a great place to be. I am grateful for my membership and the opportunity to createat The Studio! read more

I gave this business a negative review here on yelp as well as other places. They have used my real name here and they have even used my real full name elsewhere as a way I'm sure to intimidate me into removing my review. These people are bullies and they are nasty and toxic. I will not be removing any of my negative reviews even though they are compromising my privacy. It only makes me more determined to let people know not to waste their money there. The atmosphere is not welcoming to newcomers, and I did not address this in my previous review but now I feel that it is important to address. There is very little diversity among the people there. I am not white and I definitely felt singled out and while I hate to attribute it to not having a name like Nikki or Andrea (who promptly wrote positive reviews right after my review) or having white skin or blue eyes, I don't know what else to conclude for how I was treated. I'm glad "Nikki" and "Andrea" had a great time. I wish I had. read more

Amazing classes!! They have adult and child classes which are amazing and then a variety of classes from painting, pottery, and sculpture. Honestly, it doesn't get much better than that. With that much variety, even I'm able to call myself an artist. Thanks so much for a great time :) read more

I attended the Adult Paint Night for a fun girls night out. It was a blast! When we got there everything was all set up; easels, paint, brushes, etc. and we just had to pick our seats. They provide smocks to wear and have lockers and cubbies to put your stuff in so you didn't have to worry about your coat or purse getting covered in paint. Be brought a bunch of snacks and some wine and they provided the cups. It took a little while to finally get started but once we did the instructor gave us directions on what colors to mix, how to start with the background and then moved onto the foreground. My only complaint is that there wasn't a lot of direction after that. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and like structure so it's helpful for me to have directions on exactly what parts to work on and how to, but there wasn't a lot of it. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here. I used a livingsocial voucher and it was totally worth it! Can't wait to go back to also try the pottery class! read more

I come here all the time and it is so fun! I have tried pottery, painting, and silk screening t-shirts. The prices are great and Priscilla and Christine are very helpful and pretty laid back. I made some amazing hand and foot print ceramic ornaments of my 4 month old and they came out beautifully. They offer camps, memberships, and byob adult nights just to name a few. Definitely a place to come express yourself and be creative! read more

Last night my my 60yr old father and myself went to the Thursday Night paint night and had a fantastic experience. Priscilla the art leader for the night was pleasant and helpful. My Dad is new to art and she helped guide him to find his inner artist! I am intermediate level and in the short 2.5hr class she definitely helped me grow my skills. The whole night was perfect! Fun, no pressure environment really made it a great place. My dad had a blast. We definitely will be back!!! read more
