There is always soothing music playing, engaged children immersed in projects that fit their skill level/attention span/interests and the studio is bright and welcoming with joyfully colored art everywhere. My child has been taking classes at 2nd floor art studio for about two years now (age 7-9) and I'm impressed by not only the technical knowledge my daughter is acquiring, but the life stuff, as in how the teacher has coached my daughter to better respond when she is disappointed in what she has made, and to challenge herself and to celebrate challenging herself and view her art journey as full of surprises and change. The teacher is an experienced school teacher, parent and professional artist. She is warm-hearted, organized, easy to work with, and fair about scheduling conflicts. There is always parking.

However, there was another conversation we had where he lost his patience with me, and I felt he was very verbally abusive and extremely manipulative. I've also find this concerning because I know someone who was a student of his who has the same type of manipulating and picking and choosing who he's going to respect and disrespect as a film Director, so I think it's important to recognize that Reno may or may not be teaching some verbally abusive behavior. In my experience, he's too much of a hothead, he was trying to psychoanalyze me to hurt my feelings and I felt like if I worked with him it would be an experience where he would give me a lot of toxicity. I'm happy that he ended up refusing to let me take one of his classes that I was excited to take, because easily I would've avoided a very bad and abusive experience. Please stop picking and choosing who you're going to respect and disrespect.
