Let me preface this, I was only visiting the outside area as a tourist. I am not reviewing this as…read morea student there. I am huge fan of history, architecture, and Gilmore Girls. While in the area, I had to make a visit. It was founded in 1701 and is one of the top 3 Ivy Leagues. It is known for their law, political science, medicine, drama, and history programs. I love the Gothic architecture. They made walking around accessible. They even offer tours. Overall, I think it is a lovely school and highly notable.

Yale University - New Haven, CT…read more Yale isn't just an Ivy League--it's a living museum of academia, history, and innovation. Founded in 1701, it's the third-oldest university in the U.S., and its campus is a stunning blend of Gothic architecture, leafy courtyards, and cutting-edge research hubs. The School of Engineering & Applied Science is especially impressive. From robotics labs to sustainability initiatives, Yale Engineering fosters a tight-knit, forward-thinking community that's deeply committed to inclusion and innovation. The facilities are modern, collaborative, and designed to spark creativity. Yale also boasts a vibrant Asian American community, supported by the Asian American Cultural Center, student organizations, and affinity groups that celebrate heritage, identity, and belonging. It's a place where diversity isn't just welcomed--it's woven into the fabric of campus life. Parking? Surprisingly manageable. Yale offers a range of lots and garages with reasonable rates, and there are even free parking options for transit users and carpoolers. Just be sure to check the campus map or visitor parking guide before you go. The surrounding area has its charm, but like any urban campus, some neighborhoods can feel sketchy, especially after dark. Stick to well-lit paths and main streets, and you'll be fine. Whether you're touring the campus, attending a lecture, or just soaking in the academic energy, Yale is a must-visit. It's a place where tradition meets transformation--and it's got the brains, beauty, and boldness to prove it. Boomsauce Scale: B - basura (trash) BS - basic (come on! Try harder) BS + - better (Yo! Go to Housatonic Community College. I've been to three of the CT community (Housatonic, Naugatuck…read moreand Gateway) colleges and honestly Housatonic in Bridgeport has provided me with the best community college experience thus far. I have been blessed with teachers who want to help the student succeed beyond race , religion and economic status'. Housatonic is a diversified school! Anyone can call and will most likely call Housatonic a home away from home institution . Gateway is only know for their new architectural building structure of random teachers roaming down the hallways only concerned about their paychecks instead of the students career goals. As students remember you have a choice to choose and decide what college you want to go to. Do not feel locked or obliged to attend Gateway. Explore your options and means of transportation as you are charged in your tuition for bus , train fare and parking dues every semester whether you use it or not! Look into your tuition costs. Wake up , you have a choice do not remain complacent or stuck within the town you reside in. You will always have the freedoms and options you desire. Do your research and look beyond. Also where are the Google reviews and other platforms open for review on Gateway ? Biased would one not think?

My two professors have been honest, fun, and hard working. I hope my tenure here goes as well as my first two semesters.

I have no idea why someone would use yelp to decide about attending or working for any college, but…read moresince it's here I'll add my opinion. I'm a grad and 3 in my immediate family are grads or current student. One English major, one molecular bio, one neuroscience + Korean double major, one still deciding but maybe comp sci/ astrophysics This is a magical school. Professors are excellent teachers and tops in their fields. They care about teaching and their students. More science funding than any other small school. More NSF funded professors than any other school. More foreign languages taught than any other school. Best film department in the country. Big telescopes. Yes it's weird and proud of it. Non- conformist students who want to create new ways of solving issues. Diversity university and proud of it. Read President Roth's books and articles. No core coursework outside the major Everyone here did well in high school and took advanced classes. Wes trusts its students to explore the curriculum. The academic freedom makes it easier to double major as well. The city of Middletown has enough to satisfy, but this is not a " college town" and wes knows that. So they provide so much to do that students don't want to leave on the weekend or evenings: theater, movies 4 nights a week, music series, dance series, lectures plus spring fling. Students pile on even more student-run music, dance, theater, clubs, parties. Best housing: more single rooms, more student housing options with kitchens, meal plan that you can use to buy groceries. Bathroom grade: A. Yep, they have plenty of gender neutral and ADA options.

Since non-students are posting reviews about a school they never attended I'd like to partake in…read morethe fun too. First off prospective students should take these non-student reviews with a grain of salt. They're kinda silly and my review is no exception. Secondly it's unfortunate there are people in this world who hold a grudge against a potential employer simply because a job interview didn't turn out the way they intended. Can you say "sour grapes"? I doubt their employment seeking experience reflects the actual student experience at Wesleyan University in any way, shape or form. Now I don't pretend to know everything about this school. I'll leave that to the REAL students. But I will tell you that the harsh criticism of the school and the town of Middletown is undeserved. It's unfair. How an outsider can walk around a campus and a street for a few days and conclude that others should stay away is beyond me. It's unfathomable. Everyone I know who graduated from Wesleyan loved it. The school holds an exemplary reputation throughout the state of Connecticut. I sometimes hire for my company and I would personally hire a Wesleyan grad any day over some dumb Stanford or UPenn grad. It's a no brainer, especially after my recent experience in dealing with the ilk of people from those two schools. Newsflash for Chrissy; both schools were beat by Columbia in this year's US News ranking. Ha ha.

Campus was beautiful, even on a not-so-perfect weather day. Large enough feel to make one realize they're in college, without urban sprawl to make one feel lost. Many building are beautiful. Some dated, but that's why we have capital campaigns, right? :) Our tour guide, Alina, was simply phenomenal. Clearly authentic, unscripted, but yet knew all the pertinent detail. She made the trip so much better than others we've been on for either of our two boys.

They never said this while you are paying and going! Then they had a little department that was supposed to hook you up with jobs, but none worked out. This school is not a respected school to get you anywhere in the job market, you really have to go to a private school - at least by the time you get a degree. Those are the only schools that are respected out here. I felt as if I waste my time, because I had a better job BEFORE I finished my degree, but I had to give the job up because I could not find a must-have class to fit outside of my work schedule. I ASSUMED that finishing the degree would make me better off, so I would not have to worry about getting an even better job down the road. Sadly, i cannot get any job! a degree from this school (unless you come from a rich family, are a mason or have a direct hookup), is worth about as much as a roll of toilet paper! if i had the chance to do it all over again - i would have kept my job. i would have been good by now.
