It's a classic Catholic school: people matter; people are important; personal gifts are to be developed and it provides a place where everyone is accepted. I look back on my 9 years (yes; kindergarten, too) at HTS with great appreciation for the teachers and the Sisters. It was a happy place to be and I made friends who were nice kids who grew up to be even nicer people! Tuition paid for a Catholic school is the best investment you can make for your child. I know it was for my parents--they got a solid educational return for their money and their children went to great Catholic high schools and earned graduate degrees. Congratulations, HTS!

Unfortunately, I was part of the last class to go through the Cromwell campus. It was an awesome experience and definitely worth the price tag (which is about the same as ONE year at JWU.)!!!! I strongly advise prospective employees and job applicants to be cautious in communications with the university's Human Resources department. In what seemed like a routine email exchange, a comment I made was misconstrued as 'harassment' by an HR representative. Instead of resolving the misunderstanding, the department escalated the issue by contacting the police and issuing a formal trespass warning against me, despite my never having visited the campus. This disproportionate response has left me with a negative impression of the university's internal culture and personnel management.

It's quiet and has a lot of amenities for students and staff that are located on (or have work to do) at the west campus. The genome center is fantastic & the staff do a great job. There is even a little nature trail hat you can walk between buildings or have a little zen time to break up your day. It doesn't really have the same feel as the main campus, but a great place to get some serious work done.

The occasion was a student faculty art show and sale which was held in several different interconnected buildings. The student art was interesting and enjoyable; seeing the different modes of artist expression has always fascinated me. One of the biggest thrills was running into John Falato, artist and instructor at the school and having him escort me through the faculty exhibition. His work is clear, crisp and representational to the finest of detail, it's as if you are looking at a photograph. Paier school has had some notable artists and instructors one of my personal favorites is Ken Davies who achieved national prominence with many sold out shows in New York City. Paier School of Art is a little art school tucked away on a side street in Hamden, Ct, but oh what a hidden gem it is!!!

I'm not sure exactly which branch she works in but my daughter had to miss a lesson because of an anaphylactic reaction. Her test was scheduled for just a day or two after this so she needed the lesson. They were all booked and I thought we were going to have to push off the test date from December to March but Lori found an instructor willing to come in on a Saturday and do it. She and the instructor truly went beyond expectations and they deserve to be recognized. As does Next Street for hiring quality people. THANK YOU! P.S. my daughter passed her test!
