I would NOT recommend this preschool with the current director in place. I can't say enough about…read morethe teachers they are absolutely amazing, however if there are issues in the classroom the director does not remedy the situation in the proper manner. Their handbook states : BEHAVIOR POLICY It is our goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment at GCP. We work together with parents to help children develop inner controls to develop appropriate social behavior. Teachers use positive reinforcement, and redirection, along with instruction in classroom rules and the modeling of appropriate behavior and manners. Children are reminded of the school rules and encouraged to think of appropriate ways to express themselves. In order to keep children safe, GCP cannot allow hitting, pushing, shoving, biting, spitting, kicking or other aggressive behaviors that are harmful to a child themselves or to others. Multiple infractions can result in intervention by the Director and/or parents. If aggressive behavior continues, the preschool will request one or more of the following: 1. A parent may be called to pick up their child from preschool 2. A parent may be requested to accompany the child to school and remain in the classroom to prevent the aggressive behavior 3. Parent(s) may be asked to keep the child home until the behavior stops I can tell you from first hand experience that they do not follow their behaviour policy. My daughter had another child's hands around her neck, hair pulled, and snacks stolen by the same kid and to not deal with continuous weekly issues I had to move my daughter from that class to ensure it didn't continue. The director then told another parent, that the reason I had her moved was because I have "anxiety". She does not know how to talk with people and basically accused my daughter of saying one thing at home and another at school. This was an ongoing issues with other children in the class ... so we must all be lying? Due to all the issues we had we decided to pull her out for the 24-25 school year. They have a no refund policy for the deposit of $1000.00. We understood that there is a no refund policy however considering how they handled the situation, we asked to meet us half way. The response: "We do have a no refund policy unless it is an emergency ( death in the family, someone loses their job, a family moves away etc)." We asked to speak with board, a meeting was set up with the director and 2 individuals that were not members of the board. She must not understand that it is public record and I was able to find out who the president was and sent a certified letter to his home. All they provided was a "We would like to offer you our summer camp program free of charge." Well its not free of charge cause I gave you $1000.00 deposit. Beware of this preschool, many families have left and I'm sure all for good reason . They certainly do not follow their Christian values that they preach constantly.

Our child has been enrolled in over 3 years now and tells us that they would love to go during the weekends. They have made a loving impact on the one person I care about and to me, that is all I can ask for. Mikey is a great mascot that the children love to play with during drop-off an pick-up. Alex is also very caring and helpful during all hours and days of the week. They have also supported us during stressful times, especially COVID. They stayed operational while other daycares closed for months. This was greatly needed, as we are full-time working parents and Alex and Mikey made us feel safe with leaving our child. We have no idea what we would have done if they had been closed. I cannot stress enough how amazing this place is. Love SCDC!!!

As a parent, I'm really surprised to see a bad review and very sorry for the bad experience…read morementioned in that review. Hope that parent has good luck to find another place suits her needs. According to my experience, the director Alex is very professional and responsible on her work. I think She manages the daycare very well. My children both started from toddler and I'm very happy with the teachers here too. The children have breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack in the daycare. So I don't have to pack lunch for them. Also, they are less picky here than they are home. They learn letters, numbers and sciences during morning. After lunch, they take a nap. Usually their teachers spend a lot time and energy to sooth them so they can fall asleep (if you ever try to put a young child to sleep, you know what effort that takes). I really appreciate the teachers' patience. Generally speaking, I'm very happy with the daycare and highly recommend it to all my friends.

My son started at CKS in November of 2018. We were pushed out of a Montessori that we were in b/c…read morethey didn't allow therapists in to work with their students (he was aging out of E.I.). This was a few months into the school year, so I set out to find a school ASAP. I toured two others in the area, most of the schools I tried were already filled. Luckily I was able to get a hold of Ester who is the owner, and runs the school. I think upon hearing my situation, she took sympathy on my plight, and was able to get my son in. For that alone I will forever be indebted to her, but also for creating this incredible environment for every child that is lucky enough to attend school here. My son has thrived here, has made some great friends, and the parents are all great too. It is family run, and some of her kids work there, or have worked there. The staff is excellent too. They're all just so sweet and kind, the children and parents love them. They have chickens, two baby sheep, and a tractor to go for rides on. They're very big on outdoor play which I really LOVE - no matter what the conditions are (sans wind). They do sports in the morning to get the kids going, and they love it. The teachers make home cooked meals for breakfast and lunch every day (it is a nut free environment). Not having to think about what I am making my son for breakfast, snack, or lunch five days a week is a life saver. It also helps knowing its homemade and healthy. It is truly a remarkable place. They're also up to date on the times with everything they do there from the books, the toys, to activities and even their app for the school - Brightwheel. It gives you updates, pics, and videos of your child's day to day school life. You can message the school within the app and vice versa. This school is a magical place, and if you are ever able to send your child here, consider yourself hitting the preschool jackpot. My son literally asks me to go to school on some days when he is not there. It's that good!

I was initially considering sending my…read moreson to other 3's/4's programs in the area when we moved here, with only 3-4 hour days, summers off --- which would have required hiring a sitter/nanny. I am so glad I didn't assume that a daycare model pre-school wouldn't be as good! . I don't know how he could have learned any more over the past 18 months -- he is reading, speaks some Spanish, has learned great social skills and how to be a good friend, etc. And he eats the daily homemade food, trying all kinds of food he won't try at home. Coming from NYC, we never thought we'd end up at a family owned daycare, but we could not be happier we found CKS. The director/owner is wonderful, and her team a mix of her family (son and husband), as welll as fabulous, warm teachers who seem to really WANT to be teachers and are educated as such. My son is very ready for Kindergarden!! And for working parents, other than 2 weeks in the summer and a week at Christmas, this school is always open -- even during crazy snowstorms this year, they were open, allowing us to work when we needed to.
