Sometimes, though, the plans that don't work out lead you exactly where you're supposed to be. And this turned out to be a blessing in disguise! The brunch menu was spot on. Everything we ordered was delicious and thoughtfully done, but the masa pancakes and ham steak were definitely the standouts. Both are a must-try! The only thing I wish they would change is the deviled eggs. I would have loved them even more if they were served traditionally rather than spicy. But that's just a personal preference. Maybe I should have asked. Overall, we had a really good experience. What started as our backup plan turned out to be a place we're glad we discovered. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you never planned for.

There are bar seating so we sat there. I love the vibe and atmosphere here, it is very welcoming, friendly and fun. We chatted it up with the bartender/wait staff and it was really friendly environment. I ordered the masa pancakes and the brisket hash. As for the food, I thought it was okay, nothing horrible but it didn't wow me either. The brisket hash didn't really have that much brisket in it, felt a little skimpy on the brisket. I did enjoy the potatoes that came with it, it was nice and crispy. The toast that came with it was also okay. As for the masa pancakes, this is definitely a large serving. This is my first time having something like this, it tasted different than traditional pancake. It was probably too much for me due to the serving size. I couldn't finish it, but I also don't think I'll return for this dish either. Overall, I love the atmosphere of this place but the food is just okay.

Definitely a great spot for the summer and apparently they have an incredible happy hour deal. We tried some chicken tacos and the mini bean burrito app. My dad also got some soup and other tacos. First of all, the service is excellent, and everyone is very kind and friendly. They seem to have really good drinks and reasonable prices. You have to get three tacos with beans and rice but honestly, it's worth it because the beans and rice taste super fresh and the tacos are well worth it. We also tried a cauliflower one, but it was really spicy so we weren't crazy about it. I saw our recommendation on TikTok to try the cheese and bean burritos and genuinely these were incredible??? It comes with four little burritos and they are just a little fluffy bites of goodness. I need to come back for the happy hour and get these again. Really a great place and it makes sense to me that they've been here since the 70s because I normally feel sick after eating Mexican food and since everything was so fresh, I felt great! Awesome chips too! I am coming back to try the churros

I thought to myself OK, no big deal. Hot food takes time. except that wasn't the case. The outer shell was warm because they grill it off on the flat top but the beans inside were barely room temperature. So I sit there for a while and no body comes around. I end up having to take the food inside and explain that the beans are "cold" not hot or even above warm.. The girl said ok no problem. 2 mins later she brings me back the same plate of food with the half eaten burrito still on the plate. She literally put the food in the microwave!! THE MICROWAVE!! I mean, is it really asking that much for four hot mini burritos not microwaved?!?!

We got the mixed shrimp and steak fajita as the fajita Friday would give us a $5 discount. The fajita gives you a great fire show! However, if we didn't catch the server prepare the first few seconds, we would've missed it, so a heads up would've been appreciated. It felt a bit rushed. The steak and shrimp were solid but for $33 before tax and tip, it is a bit steep. However, the amount of food is good enough for 2 people for a light satisfying meal. I docked off a few stars because while the food is good, service really needs improvement. We had no utensils for 15 minutes. We had to flag the server a few times, nowhere to be found. They didn't even end up discounting the $5 and with how hard it is to get attention from a server, I had to force to leave no tip in the end to make up for the difference, in addition to the very poor service. For near closing when it's not busy, it's not acceptable to not be attended to during the dining service especially we had to leave the food cold waiting for utensils to even start eating.

As soon as we thought we wanted something else, she was there. That is the signature of a great server. They have a nice menu with a good variety of items. We started with their chips and dip trio - guac, queso, and salsa. The chips were homemade and very good. All of the dips were great. That was the highlight of our meal. We all had different types of tacos, so I can only really talk about mine. I had the taco dinner - three tacos - Asada, Carnitas, and Al Pastor. Everyone seems to rave about the tacos. I thought they were good, although I'm not sure, for the price, it was much better than any other Mexican restaurant. The steak, which had an extra cost, was just okay. The carnitas were good, and the Al Pastor was good, but not outstanding. The rice and beans were really outstanding and also a highlight of the meal. But, if fairness, good is still good. I plan to give this another try. I suspect if I order something different, given how good the service was, I'll be more pleased with the experience.

The restaurant boasts 3 distinct spaces. The front area , the middle section and the patio in the back. I would strongly advise against being seated in the center room. This space felt strangely detached from the restaurants otherwise vibrant energy. The stark minimally decorated room is boring, the least decorated, and the waiters stand against a white wall, watching you the whole time. The drinks are large and served in 16 Oz glasses. I had the Mojito Pina. I asked for it to be made with pineapple juice instead of seltzer, but I swear it had carbonated water in it , and all I could taste was lime and zest. I only drank 1/4 of the drink. The chips in salsa are complimentary and both were fresh and delicious. I had the Salmon Rostizado. It was deliciously moist, served with sweet potatoes, salad plantains, and mango salsa. Before I left , I told the waiter the drink wasn't good and appeared to have carbonated water, he denied it and said he made it himself. This might be the problem: waiters acting as bartenders.

The chile-sesame salsa added a great depth of flavor. The Barbacoa (7/10) was tender. I wasn't a fan of the salsa borracha, but the consome was delicious with a nice kick. The Fried Sweet Plantains (8/10) were soft and caramelized. The crema and cheese were a great addition. Overall, a solid spot for Mexican food when you want something a little nicer than a casual taco spot.
