Maybe turn the music down a tinge. KayKay at the counter is the sweetest and happiest counter worker I think I've ever met. She is a STRONG asset to the LEYE family. She was cautious with my food allergies and even called to the back to make sure they were fully aware. My tacos were heaven! Absolutely the best. I love their cod taco. Think if it as a much better option for a quick dinner than most if you happen to be around here. Happy hour is the big appeal. You will see people getting off work pouring in from the building lobby entrance in need of a drink. Cheap margaritas are better than expected here. You will be happier if you get one or two of them. We had shrimp tacos and crispy fish tacos. Shrimp was okay, but crispy fish is the way to go. We would not have sought out the fish if it wasn't recommended, but it really is good. Small but pleasant space inside. There's outdoor seating on the sidewalk if you want to see a neverending stream of your coworkers or sad people going to and from the hospital while you eat. Service was fine. QR code menu. It looked like one person covering the front of house on the Monday evening we were there. She was efficient enough and socially neutral in that Gen Z way. Tall Taco Boy at the Midway airport I will tell you you're the best thing there. Midway is a Southworst Hub and that means that most people going through Midway are flying for the first time in years or I've never flown before. I fly every week so this drives me bananas. Stopped in after coming from a museum as we in the mood for some tacos. We were seated pretty quickly upon walking in and the server explained how to order food. This was my first time trying Tallboy Taco and I can confidently say it wasn't bad. The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant was beautiful ! One of the very convenient things about this restaurant is that you can order and pay on your phone, so when you're ready to go you don't have to wait on the server. With the name Tallboy Taco you would think they were really good at tacos. I ordered 3 tacos, the pastor, birria, and the chimichurri chicken. The corn tortillas on all three were terrible. They all tore upon the first bite and just became a mess all over my hand. The Birria was the worst it was just dry shredded meat no sauce and no dip of the tortilla. There was consommé but was unable to dip the taco in the small container because the taco completely fell apart at first bite. The pastor taco was equally dry. The chicken was the best out of the three it was not dry and had good flavor but again the tortilla fell apart and was a mess at first bite. Found this place not far from our hotel and it was all we needed. You can order at the counter and sit down, takeout or sit at a table and order from the QR code. The margs were good and the tacos were simple and good. If you want more drinks, order them from the QR code and then close out the tab when you are done. I didn't mind the lack of service at the table (yes they bring you the drinks and food). I was very disappointed in Tallboy Taco. I was a patient in Northwestern Hospital and asked my wife to please bring me some "proper food", I was really looking forward to some non-hospital food. Had a great experience with Tallboy Tacos recently- it's so nice to have found another option for Mexican food in Streeterville! Tallboy recently catered a group event- although the food arrived a bit late, it was fresh and piping hot. We ordered the BYO Taco Bar, which came with chimichurri chicken, ground beef, and al pastor, along with corn tortillas, ample topping options, and beans & rice. The chimichurri chicken and al pastor were group favorites! Both were extremely flavorful, but the chicken was particularly tender and juicy with a perfect char on the outside. The chimichurri sauce was tangy, refreshing, and had a nice thicker consistency. The al pastor had a nice mix of cuts of pork, with the charred pineapple perfectly complementing the flavorful seasoning. The ground beef was high quality, but I would pass on this next time simply because the other meats overshadowed it. The beans were more along the lines of a soup, but had a nice flavor. I did find the tortillas to be a bit dry, but appreciated that they were not greasy- I will give the benefit of the doubt here as this was a large delivery order to prepare. The highlight for me, though, was the rice! It was exceptionally fluffy, moist, perfectly seasoned, slightly spicy, and highly addictive. Among the best I've tried in a long time. Everyone went back for seconds and made a note of the restaurant name in order to pay individual return visits. I will be back, and look forward to trying more of the menu! read more

Typical airport food prices, which is to say it hurts a little bit but not too much. The tacos were super tasty. Great toppings and sauce. My favorite were the Shrimp tacos. The chips were definitely fresh, warm and made in touch. The kind of crisp, substantial chips that you can only get at a restaurant. The quesadilla were by far the best value for money. Only $8.50 for a big ole quesadilla with plenty of chicken that comes with sour cream, pico de gallo & guac. A relatively newer Mexican place, located in the heart of the Northwestern Hospital area, near river east/north. It's a little upscale, but nothing too expensive, plus you get a lot of food for what you pay. The nachos we split were huge, and really good. My burrito wasn't bad either. Has indoor and outdoor seating. No real place to park, so ideal if you're working downtown and want lunch, or took the train downtown and looking for a place near the hospital. They serve alcohol too if you're there a bit later. This is a fast casual restaurant, but it wasn't quick. Considering that we only ordered drinks and chips and dips, it took 10+ minutes to come out. The front area is very spacious and casually colorful, and we especially liked the multitude of tables available right now for outdoor seating, where we sat! I ordered their Masa-Crusted Avocado Taco, and it was delicious! I found it to be full of flavor and crunchy. I also really like they have a deal if you order three tacos - the guacamole is salty, limey, and perfectly creamy. Was a bit on the pricey side, but not bad at all considering this location is right off Michigan Avenue! This place is also dietary restriction friendly, with clear markings on the menu. I will definitely come here again and recommend if you want some quality-tasting tacos! One critique I would note would be not all of the umbrellas work on the tables. Our food took longer than expected, especially with NO ONE dining in. As we went to leave, the people next to us asked how long it took to get our food and they said they had waited 25 mins so far. Not sure what the holdup on a few tacos was. Interesting concept that fails in execution. Upon entering, you are rather gruffly told that there are QR code on the tables and you can order there. Throughout most of our time in the restaurant it was relatively empty and there was only 1 employee in the front of house. He dropped off waters and then pretty much ignored us. We figured we would order some chips and corn queso to munch on while we waited for our food. We had no way of knowing that our order was taken and it took 15 minutes for the queso to come followed a minute later by our tacos. If there was actually a waiter involved, they could have given us a few minutes between the two. I guess if your goal is cut the number of employees by 50% or more this works. I did not enjoy this. As far as the food, it was mediocre at best. The corn queso was ok but it was a bowl of canned corn with some cheese and seasonings. It was ok but it was obviously not fresh. We had the fish tacos and everything about them were completely bland. Everything lacked salt, the tortillas tasted like nothing, there was no seasoning on the fish, there was no sauce, the slaw didn't have anything elevating it. Sure a squeeze of lime and the salsa helped but usually a chef wants their food to stand on its own without altering it or drenching it in sauce.
