I am so unimpressed with Emser. I placed my order of Emser tile through ABC Tile and it seems there was a miscommunication between ABC and myself in which they didn't tell me that the bullnose for the wall tile I ordered was backordered. Fine. I addressed it with ABC Tile and they did their best to get responses from Emser on the delivery. I called Emser directly too because 1 week turned in to 2 which turned into a month. Incredibly frustrating but ABC should've been clearer that this tile was backordered so I won't hold Emser totally accountable for that. What I do hold them accountable for is the absolute BS of bullnose that I did receive. Finally after a month I rushed to pick up my bullnose and fortunately nothing was broken. I brought them home to my contractor who shortly after pointed out that several tiles were chipped in the corners and THE EDGES HAD BEEN PAINTED. Wtf? I'm not a professional remodeler / tiler but what kind of tile company paints the edges of their tile? It was clearly painted white to match the tile color and the paint had very clearly spilled over onto the front of the tile because many of them had paint lines. $800 of bullnose that ended up looking like cheap crap. At this point, the contractor had already started installing the tile because we were so delayed, but I'm appalled at the quality of bullnose tile this company ended up delivering to us after a whole month of waiting. Would never recommend using Emser tile. read more

The staff here are always so helpful and friendly. I came in here to do a few backsplashes for the new Zothex showroom in Vacaville. Both Sam and Andrea were more than happy to help me in anyway! Communication was clear, selection was amazing, and turn around time was mind blowing to be honest. I forgot the one gentleman's name that helped me with getting sample tiles to show my boss. But he was extremely helpful as well and was kind enough to even label the samples so I would know which one was what when I was ready to order. Love this tile showroom and especially the inside sales rep, Mila Oddo. I began my tile search with Mila back in August 2022. Then in November 2022, I changed many of my choices as I continued to wait on my contractor's schedule. Mila was quick to jump in with me and walk through other options. As happens with even more time, I changed everything yet again in Feb / Mar 2023. Once again, Mila eagerly worked with me while asking pointed design questions which led me to a set of choices I cannot wait for my contractor to install! Mila is the main reason I purchased my tile through Emser. Her professional, easy going manner made this whole experience an absolute delight! Our experience with Emser tile started off good, but deteriorated rather quickly after our order was placed. They did not have the tile we requested in stock and we were told that they have it in their factory in Los Angeles. Daniel told us that they would have it in their store the next day (Friday) at 7:25am. I arrived at the showroom at 7:25am to find out that the delivery truck was broke down in Los Angeles and our tile wouldn't be delivered until Monday morning at 7:25am. Daniel told me that they received an early morning email advising about the truck break-down. If customer service is important to them, they could of at least called customers letting them know that there would be no delivery. So driving to Rancho Cordova from Elk Grove was a waste of time and money on fuel. So, Monday morning I arrived at 7:25am to the showroom to be told that the truck hasn't arrived yet, but is in the vicinity of the tile shop. Fast forward an hour and the truck finally arrives. All this time, my tile guys is sitting at my house twiddling his thumbs. It took another half an hour to get our tiles off of the truck. So, with the tile job complete, we had an extra box of tiles left to return. When we bought the tiles from Daniel, he told us that if we had a full box of tiles left, we could return them for a full refund. I go to return the tiles today and the employee asks "Do you have a return authorization?" Ummm......I was never told that I would need one. The employee also said that there might be restocking fee associated with the return. That was another thing that we were not advised of by Daniel. When the return was complete, I looked and we were charged a $41 restocking fee. WTF!? Is that for having to carry it 30 feet and put it on a shelf? We will never shop at Emser Tile again. If I was the owner, I would be embarrassed by the way they treat customers. YMMV, but make sure you read all the fine print or ask the right questions before you purchase. Just an FYI, we bought $1100 worth of tile at $17.18 sq/ft which is pricey. read more

Stopped by to check out some tile on the recommendation of our contractor. The showroom was really nice but the service we got was disappointing - specifically from the guy with curly hair and mustache. We were there 3/28, probably around 10:15am. We asked him if there are certain tiles that worked better for flooring and others that would work for the walls and he looked at us like we were aliens. It was really weird energy - and honestly, it felt condescending. I felt like this must be a pretty basic question they get asked. My husband thought maybe he responded this way because he didn't know the answer, but when I went to ask a different employee (who was really friendly and helpful), the first guy chimed in and provided further information. I don't really understand why he didn't initially give us that information when we asked him directly. The second guy went on to explain that some tiles are porcelain and that some are ceramic, this info was super helpful. Overall, super weird vibe - won't be purchasing from here. It was like pulling teeth to get information from the first guy, and he said we should ask him about each individual tile sample (which I wouldn't have had a problem with, if he had told me to do so with less attitude). We didn't end up purchasing anything, but I can't imagine that the first guy would be pleasant or easy to work with. read more

The service here is great. They will help you make choices that will fit your design aesthetic and your budget. That being said, their pricing is quite misleading. We went in one day and asked about the pricing for their Landscape Canyon tile. We were told it was something like $14 a foot!! Looked online and everywhere it was between $4 and $5 per foot. What I learned was that they give contractors they work with what they call "wholesale pricing" which is really just what retail is on the internet and everywhere else that you can buy their branded product. That was a little upsetting. I was under the impression that I was getting a deal but in reality I was not. I paid $3,000 for everything (product and necessary materials) and another $2,500 to get it installed. Project was about 500sf--three bathrooms, kitchen, pantry. I was happy with the quality of their product, which greatly exceeded both my expectations and anything offered at Home Depot or Lowes. Their so-called 3D printing for stone tile is incredibly realistic. We wanted tile for longevity and ease of cleaning and we could not be happier with the appearance of our floors. Just make sure you do not pay their "retail price," if necessary get them to price match what's available on the Internet or just buy online from another retailer (Emser seems to sell true wholesale to other outlets and they in turn sell at the same price offered to contractors). All in all I'm happy and would recommend Emser to others, with the above caveat of course. Oh, and we got three bids. One guy told us that he could "get us a deal" and that the product would only cost $6 per foot. Shady. If you're going to go with one of their recommended contractors, use Doug Anderson from Designer Tile. Working with Doug was quite literally the best home improvement experience I could imagine. He was accommodating, professional and incredibly talented. Doug, you probably won't see this but you are truly awesome! read more

Our family went to Emser Tile on Saturday. My kids were being wild per usual and I felt this huge sigh of relief and pure joy that there were donuts out on the counter for the patrons! It was essentially a pacifier for my kiddos and allowed us to look around and accomplish what we needed to do! Very clever. I don't know if it's an every day thing or if we just showed up the right day at the right time, but it was something so simple that made a huge difference. Great selection, awesome help. This was our second trip. We showed up several days ago and tried to pick tile for two bathrooms ourselves. Not all of our ideas are good ones. After several other tile stores and hours of frustration, we returned to Emser because it was the only place that we came close to finding what we wanted. On our second trip we decided to go immediately to the counter to seek guidance. That's when the clouds parted and a bright light shone down on Emily. We told Emily our vision for the first bath and she immediately went to work. We handed her the shopping list from our contractor and within 5 mins she found two complete "looks" for the bath. We loved what she selected so much we told her our vision for the second bath. Yeah, that took less than 5 mins for her to pull together all the necessary tile we needed for the job. I have to admit if money were no object Walker Zanger and Ann Sacks Tile are two of the very best places to buy tile however, plenty of great selections can be found at Emser Tile. I recently renovated our new house (don't ask it is a common disease amongst Interior Designers) and purchased all my tile here. I bought travertine for the kitchen, tumbled travertine for two bathrooms and limestone for the third bath. The friendly staff at Emser Tile (Rich & Cristi especially) provided me with exceptional customer service and materials. I have purchased tile here for hundreds of clients and have been satisfied (as have my clients) with the product and results every time. So next time you are in need of tile, granite, or other natural stone products stop by Emser. The added benefit is they are priced better than most other resources.....especially Home Depot Expo who buys from Emser and inflates the price. 10.10.07 - I just learned that Cristi is no longer with Emser (I will miss her when I go in this week) but Rich still works there as well as the rest of the crew. read more

My mom and I went here to check out some tile while remodeling my kitchen last year. We walked in to find a really good selection if tile however no one wanted to greet or help us. We walked around for a good 15 minutes until someone acknowledged me. By that time I was taking tiles off the walls and trying to color match my own ideas in my head.. I'm sure they didn't want me to break anything so that's why they said hello. All I'm saying is - they shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Not someone who does the Yelp thing normally, but someone who absolutely believes in credit where credit is due. We ordered tile, knowing it would be a while before the Emser showroom/warehouse received it. Fast forward 3 months, and it was in. There were a couple of hiccups with the order--nothing the showroom had a hand in (tile pattern and finish has been slightly modified from the sample we had on-hand; gloss finish was shipped when it should have been matte, etc), but with a couple of conversations, a proactive phone call by Meagan to let us know a couple of things, and a conversation with a manager whose name escapes me, all was handled pretty smoothly.
