After searching high and low all day at various rock suppliers, we finally stumbled across Mid Valley Rock and honestly felt like we had struck gold. We were specifically looking for black button stones in a variety of sizes, and this was the only place that had exactly what we needed. After spending the day driving from one supplier to another and coming up empty-handed, finding them here felt like discovering a hidden gem. What really impressed me was the selection. Not only did they have the black button stones we were after, but they had an incredible variety of smaller decorative rocks and landscaping materials. I honestly couldn't believe how many options there were. Everyone we spoke with was extremely helpful and happy to answer questions. The parking was easy, and despite visiting on a weekend, there were very few people there, which made browsing and loading materials much less stressful. This was actually our very last stop of the day after checking multiple other places, and thankfully it ended up being the only stop that mattered. Helpful tip: If you've already checked the big-box stores and other landscape suppliers without success, don't give up before checking Mid Valley Rock. Their selection of specialty stones is impressive. What started as a frustrating search ended with exactly what we were looking for. Sometimes the last stop of the day ends up being the best one. read more

Our backyard had a total makeover last year. After concrete was in, we debated how to fill the space around it. The landscaper we hired to help with part of the project suggested we visit Mid Valley Rock so we visited Anna, showed her pictures and our layout and with her recommendation, went with some beautiful blue rustic tumbled flagstone to compliment plantings and our concrete. In combination with some colorful cobblestone and lilac stone from the neighboring Roundtree Rock yard, we completed our landscaping and couldn't be happier! Highly recommend you visit Anna. Her prices are the best we found and her expertise was a pleasure to work with. She was very helpful. Thank you Anna! I wanted to share the results! read more

This is a great, locally owned rock supply company. They offer a giant selection of great products with great customer service!

This rock company "ROCKS" - after checking out many landscaping yards this was the only one with the flagstone type that we wanted - when we finally arrived after hours Jarret (the son) was so kind and patient in showing the many varieties - in fact if you had to complain about anything it is their huge selection makes it hard to choose (some problem) - after much consternation and time we picked one - they look perfect for our yard / Anna, the friendly long time owner, came by to finalize the very fair transaction - she is "old school" for sure and keeps her word on anything and everything - if you need rocks or other landscape items you cannot go wrong in choosing Mid Valley Rock Company even if you have to drive a distance like we did - it will be worth it ! read more

Hugh inventory of landscaping materials. Anna went the extra mile in helping us with landscaping ideas, and is clearly very knowledgeable in the subject matter. We picked out a large (1800 lb) and potentially fragile boulder that we just had to have. We were worried that it could not be delivered and set without fracturing it. No need to worry: Anna's crew expertly transported, handled and set the boulder exactly where we wanted it, with no damage done to this delicate piece. We couldn't be happier with the service. Thank you Anna and crew!! Tom M. read more

This place is the best. After visiting a well known rock and stone place in the area and getting ignored, I found Mid Valley Rock and so glad I did. Anna, the owner, greeted me without an appointment and helped me pick out pool coping. She asked for pictures, asked my style, asked the color of the house, concrete, tile, etc. to best direct me to some options. We picked a beautiful stone at an affordable price and coping is going in next week. Save your time and go there first. read more

Bought 2 pallets of flagstone. Driver delivered when no one was at the residence. We have a automatic gate and the driver called me 3 times but I was working. I finally called him back and he said he couldn't find the keypad but no worries he got in by messing with the control box but he delivered and told me my gate wouldn't close all the way after he delivered it. I didn't think much of it till I showed up and the bracket the opener is on was bent way way out of alignment. I called them and said their driver had to of done something to our gate and that he told me he messed with the control box but the driver denied everything he told me on the phone earlier. The owner was out of town but she called me the same day, still out town, and that she believed her driver 100%. No one would come out and see the damage or offer me anything. I was shocked, all I really need is a new bracket, wouldn't cost that much to buy. But I was told I was on my own. That's not how you run a business. read more

The Staff and selection at Mid Valley Rock in outstanding! I am a do- it- yourselfer. Anna explained exactly how to lay the pavers and use new product like Gator dust for my new rock, water conserving, landscape. I am not sure what I would of done without her. Mid Valley Rock had so many more choices of pavers, bolders, rocks and different bark dust to choose from than other landscaping places. It is rare when you find one helpful person willing to sit down with you at a business. Every single staff member at Mid Valley rock treats you like their own family and is willing to help. They really pay attention to detail. Thank you Mid Valley Rock!!!!! We need more businesses like you! Kimberly Austin read more

If you are a do- it- yourself home owner with a small project do not go to Mid Valley. I went there to select stone and fill for a project. For the next following two days, I called Mid Valley to place an order. On both days, they said that they would call me back in twenty minutes. I never received a call back. I ended calling a competitor and made the phone order in less than ten minutes. The bottom line is don't waste you time at this place... unless you want your time wasted. read more

Anna, is the GREATEST! After finding out that there are 2 businesses on the same property and getting pointed in the right direction for rocks and specifically flagstone (what I was looking for). After she was able to take a breather from getting pulled in what seemed like many different directions at once. She sat down with me for probably 30 mins or longer to explain and draw out the plans to show me how to correctly lay out flagstone in a soft landscape. After her 33 years of experience she definitely knows what she is talking about. If you need something she can get it for you! Thank you again Anna for all your help and expertise! read more

I am about to make a purchase at Mid Valley Rock for a DIY backyard landscaping project. My wife and I recently stopped by to just look around and gather ideas and fortunately ran into the owner, Anna. She is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to stone landscaping! She recommended coming in the following day to sit down and discuss the details after we had measurements and photos of our project area, and that is what we did. She provided over an hour of extremely helpful insight and advice for us including a diagram and material list at no cost. We left feeling much more informed and confident in what our goals are for our project and can't wait to finish our yard which will be heavily influenced by her great ideas. I recommend Mid Valley Rock without hesitation to anyone seeking stone landscaping materials. read more

We drove out here and picked out some big rocks the day before Thanksgiving. They have a lot to select from. On Saturday morning they called and said they were ready to deliver. They showed up with a crane/boom and placed the rocks exactly where we wanted them in our front yard. The boom operator was very skilled and placed the rocks without damaging our large tree or house. Their price was VERY reasonable. I highly recommend Mid Valley if you are looking for rocks! read more

We needed rock for a raised wall around our pool. I had a few questions before driving out there so I decided to call. The owner, Anna, actually answered the phone! She was so interested in my project, from colors, to plants, from style to vision. After talking with her for a bit, she told me I could come and she would help me select a stone that would be perfect! My two children and I showed up a couple days later. She was working in the yard, but greeted me warmly and said she'd take a look at my samples from home to help guide me through decisions. Anna took my pool tile and a sample of my concrete color to pull as many choices as I wanted. We walked around searching and comparing, holding up rock to my materials. When we found the materials I liked, Anna recorded the necessary info and gave me a copy for my records. She was so sweet...she said my children were well behaved and asked if they could go into the office for a little treat! The kids LOVED the rock yard! So a couple days later, the pool guys showed up with the rocks! I didn't have to do anything to get it ordered or delivered. Anna took care of all that and it was at my home in under 48 hours! AMAZING! I called Anna and asked if there's a way I can share a photo of the installed materials. She continued to give me ideas and talked me through her vision! She is the sweetest! I will not go anywhere else to get materials for our fire pit and columns for our patio cover. I highly recommend Anna for attention to detail, professionalism, courtesy, care, pride in her work and customer service overall. Take photos of your home, sample materials you like or already have and let her design vision come to fruition for a beautifully landscaped yard!!! read more

Wow! Anna knows her rock and has excellent customer service! Don't waste time at other rock yards, especially if you are a do-it-yourselfer...we spent hours at three other yards with no help. We showed up at Mid Valley Rock right before closing on a Saturday, not realizing we needed an appointment. Our pool company had sent us to choose flagstone for our coping and we thought we would just show up, look at some stones, cross our fingers, and choose one blindly. Anna was AMAZING. Despite not having an appointment, she sat down with us and gave us her undivided attention. She asked us to draw a layout of our yard and our pool. She looked through pictures of our yard, considered the color of our house, our patio pavers, the tile in our pool, and the stones around our nearby fire pit, before recommending a stone for our pool coping. Needless to say, I was impressed with her attention to detail and her expertise. She really knows her stuff and she's SO KIND! And the finished product is beautiful. She made an excellent choice and we are very happy with the final product. It was a trek, but we wouldn't hesitate to go back! read more

What other reviewers said is absolutely true! Anna treats each customer with total respect and is an excellent educator. My DIY back yard work is so much better because of her time, helpful suggestions, and patience. Never any pressure to 'buy now.' I also ordered many yards of gravel from her parents' business next door that was expertly delivered in my driveway. Anna's suggestions, and the huge selection of stones make my yard look beautiful. I'm already thinking of more things I can do to both decorate and manage weeds with stones. I have eliminated 2 out of 6 irrigation systems now. read more

Anna is amazing with her ideas and knowledge of her product. We were fortunate to receive her help on our project with our contractor. She was willing to give us information for our project to make our decision work for our project. She was also able to help us narrow down the right material for our project. So many choices of rock it was overwhelming for us. She looked at our project and color pallets we were using and made the selection less stressful once we actually sat down with her to educate ourselves. We initially thought we new what we were doing but quickly realized we needed the help she initialed offered. She really enjoys helping her customers. I have been to many, possibly all, of the rock yards located in the Bay Area where we live, but have found myself again and again purchasing from Ana at Mid-Valley Rock in Sacramento. Over the course of several years, I have purchased stone pool coping, flagstone for pool decking, patio, and walkway as well as ledge stone for small rock walls and large walkway slabs. I have come to trust her completely, enough so that most of my purchases have been made over the phone. Orders have been delivered promptly and honestly quite reasonably and the quality has been incomparable to what I have seen elsewhere. My contractors agree and have noted how rare it is to work with someone in the business so client-oriented and knowledgeable. It has not been until recently that I made the trek to her rock yard to select a small number of ledge stones. Although my order was tiny this time, she actually took the time to hand select each and every rock and was able to advise as to what may be needed given the dimensions of my project. It was great to finally meet Ana but also really fun to explore the yard and see so much beautiful rock. It was an inspiring experience and I no doubt will be back for more rock. read more
