For the price I paid in those fancy nail shops, their service was normally just "Quick" but no quality. Designs that I got from them were all very typical, I always feel like I got ripped off every time I went there. (There was no other better option for me.) Therefore, I stopped going to nail salons for awhile, it was mainly because I tried to save some money and didn't want to spend those kind of money for something only look good but not great. Until I heard about Lin's nail shop, I saw those nail pictures that Lin posted on Wechat, I decided to give her a try. Lin definitely didn't disappoint me at all, the material that she used on my nails were all good quality stuffs and she also took her time to make sure everything comes out right. She was personable, knowledgeable and empathetic as well as being a good conversationalist and listener. Shop environment was very positive and comfortable...and clients also would randomly pop by and spoke familiarity with staff. Great vibe. Prices are totally reasonable. I am satisfied with my nails most times, though I tip well regardless. Maybe that's something I should revisit. It doesn't feel appreciated. I say that b/c oftentimes the reception I have and observe others receive is that of which the customer feels she is interrupting or no one feels like doing your nails. They generally close at 7, but oftentimes you can arrive as early as 4:30 and be told they are full for the day. I guess they need more nail techs. Overall, nice people but I really need some improvement if I am going to continue to patronize this location.

I found Fancy Nails on Yelp, but I took a risk since there were NO reviews for this place at all. I called ahead to see their hours on Saturdays and they said they were going to be open until 6pm that evening. This place is situated on Winton Rd, which is always busy. It's tucked in a strip mall area with other stores nearby. It looked a little dingy, but I was not the type to judge a book by its cover. It was 12:45pm when I walked up to the door....saw a bunch of signs saying their hours and different flyers. I was puzzled to see one say in broken English "No acrylic nails at 3:30pm". I racked my brain to understand what that meant....no acrylic nails until 3:30pm or were they out of the acrylic powder for the day? I figured I'd ask the owner or the manager....but lo and behold, the door was LOCKED. I looked inside and there were women in there getting pedis and manis. I waved at an employee and they completely ignored me. I walked off in a huff. NEVER coming by here again....who the heck locks their door during business hours?! I would understand if it was reserved for a bridal party, but they could have courteously posted that on their door in midst of their mess of flyers saying "Sorry, we have a wedding party reservation, please come back at this XX hour." or had someone come to the door and explain why their business wasn't "open".
