I worked with Saundra, Jennifer, Dr. Price and Marta and I have to say, their customer service is exceptional. All members of this fantastic team were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Ive been using an old pair of glasses since february . The girl that fitted me didnt understand spendables on my insurance so i waited two weeks then ordered them. The bifocal was so low i had to lift the glasses to see out. So i picked out another pair. Had to wait for these to go out. So i stopped in monday because they told me two weeks. I was in the area. The woman was so rude stating they werent in and i needed to wait for a call. In the meantime i cant see to do anything. And the glasses i have are cutting into my head. Now here its wed. to start this is about the Glenville office which wasn't an option to pick. it took a month to get an appointment. when I get there I'm told it's a virtual appointment and the optometrist, probably in Texas or something, isn't available for at least an hour or more! needless to say I walked out and will never go back. I've been a customer with visionworks for over 20 years but each time they get worse and more money hungry. honestly, a virtual eye exam!! what good was an appointment? they used to be a good company but no longer. read more

Disclaimer: some employees are very nice and professional; this is not about them. I called them up to ask if insurance would cover my visit. They looked it up and said yes. I went. 4 months later I get a bill in the mail for the glasses. Called my insurance. Turns out I was not covered for the eyeglasses, only the exam, and if I had waited 4 more weeks I could have gotten the glasses covered. At no point did an employee inform me that my eyeglasses would not be covered despite me emphasizing that it was important that insurance would cover my visit. If you have to work with them because they're the only group in the area that takes your insurance, be very careful and make absolutely sure that your insurance will cover everything. Next time I'm calling insurance before I go in to my Visionworks appointment to make sure I'm actually getting covered. Also, good luck getting an employee on the phone between their "AI" answering service and their repeated 'call volume being higher than usual' messages. read more

I made an appointment online (since it is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone!) weeks ago. They called me the night before the appointment to confirm that I knew it is a telehealth appointment. SERIOUSLY!!?? How can I get an exam seeing a doctor on a screen?? I cancelled on the spot, I am furious! There is no way to tell that it was going to be a telehealth appointment. Now I have to start over to find someone else. I will never go there again! I don't understand the point in making an appointment if you have to wait over a half hour to even be acknowledged. Worst customer service of all time. Most of the time it was just me trying to decide which frames I wanted. Everybody was friendly and funny. The employees in the store are great. However, this company is awful. They are owned by the insurance company, yet they are more expensive than lenscrafter and I have to wait weeks instead of hours to get my glasses. The QR code on the receipt said my glasses were ready but when I got to the store they were not at the store. Why would anyone support such a company? read more

Manager, Sandra and Assistant manager Kasey were very aggressive and both verbally attacked me today in the Clifton Park, NY location. I checked in and took a seat. I was approached by the Assistant manager 40 minutes later and asked me "Who are you? And why are you here?" I answered her. She walked away. I was then brought to the eye exam room by the associate who checked me in. I asked the associate what was all the confusion about. Before she could reply the Assistant manager came into the room and shouted "I was doing my job I had no idea why you were here." I asked to speak with her Manager because of her aggression. She said "Fine you can wait" The associate attempted to begin the exam when the Manager came in. She said "What do you want?" I began to explain the situation and my confusion regarding the Assistant managers behavior when the Assistant manager came around the Manager and began to point and scream "I did not do that" in my face. The Manager stated that my exam and glasses are not covered by my insurance. This was odd because she hadn't seen my chart. I replied with ok I am aware of that. The Manager said "You know what I'm not going to do your eye exam and leave." The Manager and Assistant manager began moving towards me and I left fearing I was going to be assaulted. I'm grateful my children didn't have an appointment today and weren't harassed or intimidated by Visionworks Management. I would never recommend this location l. Their customer service is deplorable. Do yourself a favor and stay away from "Dr. Moe" The most unprofessional person I have come across in 43yrs. on this earth. She was rude the to employee trying to administer the test and rushed along the pre-exam saying, " She didn't need the second part of the test to do my eye exam and that she was already an hour late for her lunch". She became extremely annoyed when I asked if there was another doctor I could see and chose not to answer my question. Proceeded to become more annoyed when I declined having her supply me with information regarding contacts and asked "Why I had an attitude?". When I asked for the 3rd time if there was another Dr. I could see she asked if "I wanted to end the appointment" Which I immediately said Yes. She then called me an A**hole as I was walking out of the exam room - refused to supply me with her name when asked and said, "they can tell you out front". She called me some more colorful names as she slammed the exam room door and almost struck me with it. "Dr. Moe" then followed me to the front of the store, where she overheard me asking for a manager. She started shouting that she wanted me "out of her store" and that if I didn't leave, she was going to call the police. The manager asked me to wait to speak with them as they were with a customer. "Dr. Moe" continued yelling for me to leave the store and to wait for the manager outside or she was going to contact the police. At this time, I said for "Dr. Moe" to go ahead and call the police.- She picked up the phone but got scared and never followed through with the call. "Dr. Moe" then took some of my paperwork ripped it and half and threw it in the trash. The manager finished up with the customer they were helping and asked to speak with me. "Dr. Moe" continued to hover over listening to our conversation and muttering nonsense like a crazy person. The manager apologized for "Dr. Moe's" actions, asked if I would like to reschedule for a different day and doctor which I politely said No Thank you. The manger supplied me a card with the "doctor's" name and a phone number for the corporate office. "Dr. Moe" continued sputtering like a crazy person off their meds as I walked out the door. I was unable to reach anyone or leave a message at corporate after waiting on hold for over 10mins. The takeaway here is- STAY AWAY, this is a terrible place I would never go back! read more

Just no. This place is nothing more than a mill, they push patients through as fast as they can, collect Insurence and nothing more. Its hard to believe you can have an eye exam in 3 min or less. They cannot do more than 1 thing at a time and even that is difficult. I switched to this store to be closer to my new home. I've come 4 times now for an exam, to pick up glasses, pick up contacts and have my contacts checked. I have had to wait every single time. Appointments run at least 30 minutes late. Some staff is helpful others are rude. Teleheath was the only option for my exam. Not a very accurate way to get glasses. Limited frames to choose from. Find another store if you can. read more

I had a horrible customer service experience with a white, bald man with glasses ("man") who wasn't even involved in assisting me during the appointment, but made rude and snarky comments at me during my appointment (as other reviews mentioned). Although there was a hiccup with my insurance, the other assistants and technician helped resolve the issue and were very patient and accommodating. However, this man was incredibly rude and unprofessional because he demeaned and mocked me for taking up the staff's time, even though he was not involved in helping me. I left the location crying and felt racially targeted because I am an Asian-American woman and there is a rise in anti-Asian hate. I will never visit VisionWorks again. read more

Back to glasses after 10 years and I was not knowledgeable of today's products. I had terrific customer service from both Sandra and Christie. They helped me with opinions on frames and even took some pics for me to send to my husband for his feedback as well! Was told 7-10 days for glasses and mine were ready in 4 days! Discovered with all of my computer work that pinnacle lenses just weren't for me. No problem whatsoever stopping back in to have the glasses changed. Again they were ready in only a couple days! They said they had no reorder of my glasses when I was told 9 days ago it would take app one week. No help regardless of who you speak with. Rude staff....went in due to hitting glasses and needed nose bridge adjusted. REFUSED..stated needed appt. I went home called..no one would answer.Went online-NO way to make appt for adjustment. Gave them a week, went back in was again turned away saying I needed appt.I asked to see manager. She happily told me she was the manager. I left but went back in.Took the first appt to have adjustment which is 3 days away. 5 min adjustment and such nonsense. AVOID!!!!!! This place sucks. Staff were always rude and condescending. They always seem to have coupons too, oddly conveniently as we're checking out. (scummy sales tactic) Came in to see if they would replace my lenses as they were very scratched, as they had it under warranty, turns out in order to do this, I would have to leave my glasses with them so they could order the lenses. It wasn't like they could order the new lenses, and then call you when they had them to replace the lenses from your current pair. I can't go two weeks without seeing. On my last pair there was also a piece of junk in-between my lense and the frames, on a 600 dollar pair of glasses. It was like they hadn't even checked them over before giving them to me. Glasses always came in later than promised, even before covid. We had paid extra for a contact prescription for myself, and when we went in to get the prescription on paper, so that we could buy the contacts from somewhere else and they REFUSED, and tried forcing us to contacts buy through them. We have since found a new optometrist. read more

Awful customer service if one has problems with the glasses bought there. Went there to have them check out my semi-rimless prescription glasses bought less than 2 years back, but the girl there just gave a cursory look and declared it is not repairable! Said the glass has chipped here and there and I have to get a new one ($600+) because the warranty is for only a year! The glass is fine, not a scratch on it. In the past the gentleman there used to handle it with a smile, take it in, retie the chord, clean the lenses, check the fit and make sure the customer was satisfied. Not anymore. Looks like new ownership and new staff. The ambiance is not professional. Very disappointing. I have to try to get it fixed elsewhere. Avoid Empire Vision! read more

When I went in the place it was not busy at all. Was told they had to check on my insurance. I then waited an hour, asked how much longer it would be was told I was next .I watched 4 more people go ahead of me . At that point I left came home called the manger waited another 5 minutes on the phone to talk to him . He said he did not understand what the problem was. The problem is they don't take people in the order them come in. Had a 5:30 eye exam, then waited over an hour for the optician (blond woman). Staff seemed afraid of her. The other optician was busy with a customer for a long while, and I asked two different people if there was someone else who could help me. They both kind of side eyed her and mumbled that I would have to wait for the person who was already with a customer. This optician had been free for at least 15 minutes and then took a woman who just walked in to get her glasses adjusted. After that she sat there for 20 minutes chatting with the walk-in and looking at pictures of her dogs like they were meeting for coffee. I like pets too, but I made an appointment and had already been waiting for 45 minutes. Since it was almost closing time, someone finally asked her to work with me, and she was combative about it. Turns out she knew I was waiting because she was the one who had given my file to the other optician. She was really unpleasant. read more

AVOID THIS SCAM AT ALL COST!!!!! This place is a joke. Went there yesterday, they first told my brother he only had frame coverage, no lens coverage (lie). Then we sat down and the story changed again and Michelle told us he had no frame or lens coverage but they would give us their best price. Tried to charge us over $50 more than it should have cost with insurance. Knew we were being told a bunch of lies so I asked for a quote (aka proof of their lies) which Michelle claimed she could not provide but she wrote down the price on an appointment card. Then his insurance faxed the correct information over to them so we went back and Michelle came to the counter and RUDELY gloated "Ohh are you ready to get the glasses now?" I told her we were ready to get the correct prices since she told us lies the first time. She put her hand up and said "I sounds like you're getting upset about this" WELL YEAH I TEND TO GET UPSET WHEN UNEDUCATED PEOPLE LIE TO ME! This place has scammed me with the same thing a few years ago with the same nasty Michelle person. They've also told 3 other people I know that they have glaucoma which it turned out none of them had- it was all a lie to get more money. So as I've said before- AVOID THIS SCAM! Don't get your eye exam here unless you want to be told you have glaucoma in your 20s and overpay for your glasses. This place should be shut down for malpractice. read more
