Today I had Rico out for a weatherization analysis. He was late, rude, condescending and acted like a misogynist from the moment he hit the door. I followed the lady who scheduled this appointment's instructions to the letter. I had all the verifications ready for him to see. No mention was made of having printouts for him to take. I asked the lady who originally scheduled the appointment that he call fifteen minutes before he got to my home so I would know he was coming. He had no badge and no ID on him. He had no business card. Nothing. He stated that she should have called me, not him. She did not. She said she would tell him to. He said he did not have to. He said that the 'girl in the office' had not given me the correct instructions that he needed printed verifications, not just the ability to view them on my computer. He kept talking very fast and blamed everything on the 'girl in the office.' Nothing I said or did seemed to make him happy. He was, in essence, an A$$. I told him to leave my home and not come back. I called the office who sent him and told them I would not be using them. They wanted to send another tech. I told them not to bother. I called PG&E and asked for another contractor, which they gladly provided. I reported Rico to the corporate office for Empire Specialties. I have reported this Turlock office to PG&E. If they are sending employees like HIM to peoples' homes, they should not be a part of this program. It is difficult enough to have strangers in my home, let alone people like Rico. I think he may have been on drugs, today, perhaps speed. He was agitated and in a hurry and 'itchy' to move. I hope the business gives him a drug test and watches him. read more

These people took out my perfectly good pool pump to put in a "better" one and now the "better" one will not prime. The basket will not fill up with water correctly which means the pump is not priming like it is supposed too. They are supposedly a subcontractor for PGE. I called their office no less then 4 times as I cannot run a pump un-primed to clean my pool. They have essentially ignored me. My next step is litigation, contacting the BBB and definitely lodging a complaint with PG&E. Why take my pump out that primed perfectly and put in one that won't prime and then completely ignore me when I call for HELP??? I am a very reasonable person but if they cannot or will not reason back with me then my hands are tied. I am forced to go civil. I do my own litigation, but I have a few lawyers who specialize in different areas of law that I deal with because I trust them. Each arena of litigation is different. Civil, Probate, Criminal etc. so I will update this review as soon as I hear back from them. In the meantime, beware. read more

PG&E sent Empire out to assess my 40 year old furnace and found that it needed to be replaced. It was not working at all. I waited for over a month before I called them to ask for an update on when my furnace would be installed. I was told there were many people in front of me so they couldn't answer the question. Then I receive a call from them wanting to make an appt to run a test on my furnace before they could order my new one. This was month 3 of dealing w these people. After they completed that test, a month later they had to look at something else. Still they couldn't put me on their schedule because of customers before me. I called them back again to get an update 5 months after we started this process and they told me I was on the call list to refer me to another PG&E subcontractor because they ran out of money for the PG&E program. I was not very happy, seems they could have done a little math and figured out that they were not going to have enough money to cover all the people that have been waiting patiently. In my opinion they wasted 5 months of my time and countless others. I made it through the summer with highs at over 110, I can make it through the winter w a 57 degree house as well. The manager or owner of this company that I talked to was very rude and had no compassion. She should have made these calls to everyone they couldn't help out months and months ago. Do the math and figure it out before you waste months of people's time. I have a few choice words I would like to say but they are inappropriate but well deserved. I give this company negative 5 stars. The technicians that came to do the tests several times I give 5 stars and suggest they find a better company to work for. read more
