Just ok, wasn't in love. More of a pastellito and I was expecting a Columbian empanada. Also wasn't very flavorful

The Philly cheesesteak empanada was just beef and the pizza empanada was just cheese. It was all around disappointing.

Every worker was amazing. The empanadas were the best I've ever, ever had. Crispy outside. Great filling to ratio. Seasoned well. Not oily. The flavor was soft and delicate. The sangria was delicious. I highly recommend. The blackberry margarita was outstanding. Almost had a hint of a michelada to it. We ordered the platano relleno. Definitely order that. Again the best one I've ever had. Sweet, fresh and the juxtaposition of seasoning to meat and cheese and plantsin was beyond delicious. They also have good Columbian sodas. The apple and cola weren't overly sweet. The pork chicharon ceviche was again the best I've ever tasted. The chicharon here is impeccable. The onions weren't soggy and weren't potent. The blended well with the citrus and chicharon. The bandeja paisa was outstanding. Every protein was cooked perfectly. We ordered steaks that were juicy. The veggies amazing. The cgar grilled tasted yes. Theres an onion and tomato side I could eat plates with the rice. Thats how good it was. The guava and apple empanadas were like fall in the mouth. Well be back. Everything else was phenomenal too. Mango, chicken. Xoxo.

I've heard very good things the past 14 years about Empanada Mania…read more An award winning food truck, a catering business, and this tiny storefront producing big flavors. Street parking; only a few seats to eat inside. Basically a To Go place. These empanadas were awesome!! Big & stuffed with a very nice crispy, fried shell. ( they offer mini sized empanadas too) There are many options of Savory fillings, but I wish they had more "sweet\dessert" types. Which brings me to my favorite: the Guava & Mozzarella Cheese empanada... Best one I've ever had. For upcoming St. Patricks Day (for a limited time) they have -- The Reuben- filled with Smoked Corned Beef, Swiss Cheese & Sauerkraut. EMPAN-TASTIC! Wish I had a beer. -the Cuban Pork empanada made with an 8-hours smoked pork, with ham and mozzarella was very good, but I wasn't a big fan of the Sweet Thai Chicken empanada with, sweet Thai chili sauce, scallion and cilantro.. Maybe I was full... The fries are old school. Reminded me of boardwalk fries. Some a little greasy. Some a little overcooked & crunchy.. So if you like empanadas, you need to give this place a shot.

Owner Galo and Manager Felipe introduced me to a variety of the signature product. Check out the outer layers of these crispy empanadas. If you think they look this good on the outside, wait until you see the inner fillings! Angus Beef: This original version of this folded hot pastry is packed with plenty of angus beef along with sautéed peppers & onions. Bacon Cheeseburger: This may have a similar appearance to the previous empanada, but do not be deceived. Imagine having a juicy succulent bacon cheeseburger in a crunchy shell in lieu of a hamburger roll. Cuban: Here's a perfect variation of the classic Cuban sandwich. The pork was smoked for several hours and it also includes ham and mozzarella cheese. Sweet Thai Chicken: It's time to try some Thai. The sweet thai chili sauce mixed in this Asian style empanada has the perfect blend of heat and spice. Spinach & Feta: If happen to be a vegetarian or If you just need a break from meat and poultry, the spinach & feta is a must try! As a bonus, these two secret sauces are fantastic supplements for your meat pies! Dunk away in the house made red hot sauce or if you are craving thousand island base with some top secret ingredients then go for the pink sauce. As another bonus, there is a state of the art coffee machine for hot beverages such as expresso, or cappucinno. All in all, each empanada was paradise. When I next return I'm looking forward to exploring their other empanadas as well as the side dishes. #empanadamania #empanadas #cuban #angusbeef #baconcheeseburger #SweetThaiChicken #spinachandfeta #LocalBusiness #foodstagram #eats #njfoodie #localspots #foodreviews

I had a memory of this place from a previous visit to this area and remembered that they had available different flavors of empanadas. I also noticed another similar place like this one on Yelp, and since they both had good reviews, I decided to try them both. This shop is very small. It had no place to sit down. You kind of order what you like from there case of already made empanadas and other lil small bites. They also have a lot of information about smoothies and options to buy. When I got there, their were two customers literally standing in front of the small counter, eating their empanadas, and just receiving their smoothies. While I waited, I took some pictures and kept waiting for someone to address me or ask me for my order. I finally excused myself to the other customers, blocking the counter and standing in front of the window case of food, and asked the guy for a cheeseburger empanada. I found the empanada to be warm and not hot enough, but it was still very tasty, and therefore, I rate three stars. Only for the taste of the empanada because although the guy who gave me my empanada was pleasant, the customer service I felt needed some work. I think if I never asked for my empanada, I may would have kept standing there waiting. After having the empanadas at the other establishment, I'm gonna have to pass on this one. I still will give a thumbs up because the empanada itself deserved it. Happy Yelping!

The owner and chef, Ray, is very friendly and kindly explained his menu and food truck concept to me. It seems that he also does catering during the day and at night, he'll open up his food truck at 7PM. The menu changes everyday as well so if you're the type to try new things, this is the place. I got the Brown Stew Oxtail, Jerk Shrimp, Vegan Chopped Cheese, and the Chicken. The braidings and blistering on these empanadas are all different which shows me a lot of attention to detail and dedication in his craft. My favorite was the Oxtail and Jerk Shrimp. The crunchiness of the empanadas with the filling was a great combination. I didn't enjoy the vegan chopped cheese as much as I hoped but that could be because I don't really enjoy vegan food that way. It was a different and unique taste however. The chicken is always a classic and he did it very well. I'm excited to come back and try the other empanadas Ray has! Stop by if you are looking for a delicious snack or a meal!

As much as I ordered, there is a whole lot more that appears on their menu after scanning the QR Codes on the tables. The Canchita is a nice crunchy snack on its own, but is kicked up a notch with the green sauce. If you like popcorn, try the canchita. The Lomo Saltado Empanadas are good and very good relative to empanadas I have had elsewhere, but the Chicharron Empanadas are where it's at here. The pork belly is not too fatty and the flavor and texture will keep these on steady rotation every time you come here. The Huancaina sauce over the fettuccine pasta with the small pieces of smoked pork rib meat will remind you of pancetta, but the Huancaina sauce is familiar with a cheesy and creamy texture that barely hints at the yellow peppers in the sauce. This is comfort food that accompanies the Pollo a la Brasa with the green sauce perfectly. They could have been more generous with the pork rib in this dish and the pieces are so small I had to taste them alone to know how they taste, otherwise becoming lost in the sauce. The Shmrip Chaufa, which, like the fettuccine, can be ordered with several proteins, hints at the East Asian influence on Peruvian cuisine, similar to the Lomo Saltado. It's a great fried rice, that elsewhere would go well with soy sauce. Here, the green sauce is on order. The salad that came with the family meal is crisp lettuce, tomato and cucumber with their bright vinaigrette dressing and it cuts across the rich and savory flavors you experience here. I reserved the last, but not least, for the Pollo a la Brasa. You will start eating this with a knife and fork, but end cleaning the bones with your hands in mouth. This is where you'll get down and don't care who is watching as you devour this chicken, where the flavor and texture of the crisp skin, gives way to tender and juicy chicken and ends with the flavor of the bones. The skin was crisp after coming out of my oven at home and would come out even better in a convection oven or air fryer. As good as the Lomo Saltado is, the Pollo a la Brasa is better in my opinion. The green sauce puts this chicken over the top and this chicken must be among the best roasted or rotisserie chicken you can find among the five boroughs. The coffee flan is very good. I am not one who can evaluate flan, given I don't eat it often. I don't have a sweet tooth typically. However, I appreciated the texture and contrast with the coffee. My total for all this came to $160 before tip, which is not bad for this amount of quality food and befitting of the Michelin Bib Gourmand rating. One well known chain of Peruvian restaurants in the City will charge you the same family meal price for one chicken and it will not be as good. It's midweek and I'm still eating and the other chicken is in the freezer for another time. 4.3 very returnworthy stars!
