I came here because I had a craving for some empanadas with a different flare besides the basics of just chicken, beef, or cheese. I had a memory of this place from a previous visit to this area and remembered that they had available different flavors of empanadas. I also noticed another similar place like this one on Yelp, and since they both had good reviews, I decided to try them both. This shop is very small. It had no place to sit down. You kind of order what you like from there case of already made empanadas and other lil small bites. They also have a lot of information about smoothies and options to buy. When I got there, their were two customers literally standing in front of the small counter, eating their empanadas, and just receiving their smoothies. While I waited, I took some pictures and kept waiting for someone to address me or ask me for my order. I finally excused myself to the other customers, blocking the counter and standing in front of the window case of food, and asked the guy for a cheeseburger empanada. I found the empanada to be warm and not hot enough, but it was still very tasty, and therefore, I rate three stars. Only for the taste of the empanada because although the guy who gave me my empanada was pleasant, the customer service I felt needed some work. I think if I never asked for my empanada, I may would have kept standing there waiting. After having the empanadas at the other establishment, I'm gonna have to pass on this one. Well for starters the smell of fresh baked empanadas filled the air as we pulled up. The store is very clean and proudly displayed the A sanitation rating on the front window, which is a big plus! Once inside the location Empanadas on the Hill has a transparent policy where they have nothing to hide and you can see everything from the preparation of fresh dishes and smoothies to the amazing plentiful selections of Empanadas created there in. I tried the cheese burger, chicken and the beef empanada and I've decided that my favorite is a toss up between the chicken and the fresh beef flavored with just the right amount of onions and spices. Tonight I ordered food for my Pregnant girlfriend. Her order was a suppose to be a shrimp quesadilla but instead we received a chicken quesadilla. Not only was the order wrong but once she bit into the quesadilla she spat out a piece a glass. I called this establishment to let them know the situation just for the lady at the register to argue and scream at me saying whatever she said in Spanish. I am very familiar with the world we live in and being an African American makes it even harder everyday. I recommend their smoothies, three milks dessert, Pollo y Queso Empanadas, and Res y Queso Empanadas. However, a few times the empanadas have come lacking inside filling such as meat, cheese, chicken, etc. The pizza empanada and fried plantains weren't anything special. It was so heavy! If you are marketing smoothies you should know how to make them correctly and healthy. Not with condensed milk and sugar. So far everything i have ordered from here has been amazing. I tried the Cuban sandwich and ordered about 6 empanadas to try some different flavors...when they arrived I was shocked at how much food it was. These empanadas are so big and full and delicious!!! I had leftovers for two days which was perfect because I work a lot and they can easily be reheated in the oven. I took a chance on this place via Postmates a few weeks ago and tonight I've placed my 4th order already. This time I am trying the tacos and I'm really excited to see how they taste. I ordered burger deluxe and 2 beef yaroa's via Uber eats. The food arrived within 40 minutes which is reasonable. However, The fries were stale and hard. The burger was salty, stale, and rubbery and also seemed to have been cooked a while ago. I won't be ordering from there again. I visited this place twice curious because of one review that the empanada they make is baked. The lady who served us has limited English ( speaks Spanish well) so when I asked "I'd like the oven baked empanada, not the fried" she had that blank stare, so in an effort to convince myself that i can finally have baked empanada, I just ordered all chicken empanada- two each of the con queso, with corn and pollo itself. She got all from the glass display shelves and and packed them to go. when we got home my partner wasn't pleased with the empanada taste but I loved the taste - especially the chicken cheese one. A few days after, my partner and I went there, I ordered 6 chicken w cheese ( display empty already ); the same lady said , we can cook for you and much to my surprise, the gentleman at the kitchen actually deep fried the empanadas! The customer service here is horrendous. Forgot a part of my order, had to wait 3 HOURS for it and they had an attitude when I called back to get it or a refund.
