We are soooooooooo lucky to have an Emilio Pucci boutique in Orange County, considering there are only SIX Pucci boutiques in the entire USA!
But it is oh so appropriate. Pucci embodies what I like to imagine is the California lifestyle: lounging by the pool at your mid-century pad, sipping a mojito, or throwing a flowy caftan over your teeny bikini to stroll the shops by the beach....
But I think Pucci is equally suited to that OTHER California lifestyle: the rat race. I love my Pucci tops that instantly brighten up a dark suit. In spite of their bold prints, they can be a subtle accent when covered by a jacket, or worn as a scarf, and there's always a variety of unique and flattering styles that don't scream "look-at-my-boobies-they're-falling-out-of-their-leopard-print-Dolce-cami!"
Pucci is also suitable for that essential rat race component: commuting. Pucci clothes are meant to be worn traveling, and though I'd rather be jetsetting in a G5 with friends, the Harbor Freeway at 8am is more bearable when you're stylishly comfy.
But wait, there's more! Pucci apparel fits into my lifestyle because many of their tops (the cotton and rayon ones) are machine washable! Yippee! For the ones that aren't, I make a special trip to Margaret's Drycleaners, the only place I will trust with my Pucci.
The OC Pucci boutique is the absolute best, and my SA Kayla rocks. Never an attitude, always fun to play. And the sales associates will actually take care of you, even if you're not a big spender. I really only ever buy sale items, but even so Kayla still takes time to e-mail me personally to let me know if new items have been marked down. Not only that, but she sends photos of the items they have - so helpful! She can be your remote personal shopper if you need it.
Oh, and the amazing Capellini armchair upholstered in Pucci print fabric? Yes, you CAN buy that! Brand new it will cost you about $4,100; the sales associates can get you the details if you're serious. But what *I really want is a Saarinen womb in a Vivara print...
Long live Emilio in the OC! read more
