My experience with Dr. Dan T is and always full of positive outcomes. My recent visits of 7-11-2026 was amazing & awesome. I started visiting EEA in Providence RI almost 2 years now. I started with Dr. Sarah and after she transferred to Florida, I wasn't sure whether I would stay or try a new Acupuncturist. Dr. Mary ensured me that I should give Dr. Dan a chance. I'm happy she did and I accepted. From a range of the following ailments: achy knees, non-stop burning feet, intestinal & digestive system issues, severe allergies, sinus infections, joint pain to name a few, since consistently visiting EEA at least twice months, I have continued to feel much better and there is nothing that will stop me from returning to EEA. Dr. Dan is patient, understanding, attentive, and gives me his undivided attention, keenly listening to a long list of ailments & others, and immediately gets on board to address every one of them within the few minutes of therapy session allowed. He perfectly completes his work, and I walk out of the office ready to face the business ahead of me etc., until my next session. Kate embodies tai chi and is able to share it with her clients which makes her able to have the softest, most relaxing touch while achieving deep impact. My experience with Mary Claire could not have been better. I started acupuncture for the first time following an extended mold exposure at my office and then finding out I was pregnant. I felt generally unwell as a result of the exposure and was in need of a holistic treatment safe during pregnancy, acupuncture seemed like a good idea. Mary Claire gave her undivided attention listening to my complete list of ailments (not a small task at the time) and immediately set about addressing every one. Within a few weeks of treatment I felt the best I ever had. By the end of my pregnancy all of the mold issues were gone and Marie Claire focused on the baby and delivery. We did treatments for breach positioning, then after my due date passed treatments to to avoid forced induction.... I am thrilled to say my beautiful daughter was born in the correct position the following day and in only 3 pushes!!!! So let me just start off by saying this company is great & affective, I had a phone interview & less then 20 min I was scheduled a in person visit. Sarah is the best, she's such a nice person the first day I met her we clicked instantly. My Scoliosis was so painful, doctors gave me medicine that did no help for my body, after one visit of getting treatment at emerging energy acupuncture my body was rejuvenated. If you live in Rhode Island and are looking for an acupuncturist, I cannot recommend Mary Claire Dilks of Emerging Energy Acupuncture more. She has an adorable, very zen office in Providence and does an amazing job of listening and trying to understand all of my health complaints. She is warm and comforting and extremely knowledgeable and professional. I feel liken she truly cares about my health and sincerely wants me to feel better. I also appreciate how she has an excellent memory-- I had seen her a few years ago for a short time, and when I came back to her a few months ago, she remembered all of my little life details we had discussed before! For those of you who aren't sure how a typical acupuncture appointment works, basically, you first spend a few minutes discussing your health concerns. For me, I tell her how I am feeling in terms of my back and hip pain and my stomach/digestion issues, which is what I am seeking treatment for. She spends at least five or ten minutes asking my general and specific health questions so she can target the areas in which I need treatment. For my first six or so visits (I go once a week), she focused on points on the front side of my body that correspond with the areas of inflammation I am treating. I lie down on a cot, and she taps the needles in the appropriate points. It doesn't hurt-- occasionally you feel a twinge as the needle is tapped in but that's about it. Then, once all the needles are in, you basically lie there for forty minutes or so. I tend to fall asleep, which is encouraged, and when the time is up, the needles are quickly taken out. And. . . that's about it! Acupuncture naps are so relaxing, and I always feel good afterwards. The past two weeks, since my back and nerve pain has really been acting up, she did localized treatments on my back, in which I lay face down, and she inserts needles in the areas that feel most inflamed. What is amazing is just by feeling my back, she can tell which parts of my back are inflamed. She told me they feel "gummy," as compared to other areas, and what's so great is she always is right in pinpointing the spots that hurt. All in all, I think seeing Mary Claire is one of the best things I have done for my health, and I highly encourage anyone who is frustrated with traditional medicine (i.e. taking lots of medicine) to go see her! read more

I had a very bad experience at Emerging Energy. It was my fifth session and up until then everything had gone fine. In that fifth session a needle inserted between my thumb and pointer finger (which before had ached a little sometimes but nothing more) hurt very, very severely. It hurt so badly that I jumped from the pain. In addition to hurting unbelievably at the location of the needle, it sent what felt like a shock down the opposite arm and the leg on the same side. The Acupuncturist said that "happens sometimes in the fall when energy is at the surface." I said it felt like it had hit a nerve and she said it was not possible in that location. I used various search terms a couple of days later to see if that was severe pain was an occasional issue with Accupuncture. I could find no references to pain of that magnitude or of a feeling of being shocked. Now I am concerned that she lied and she did something she should not have. I want to warn others, and at least the other members of the practice that this happened. Up until this point I had felt it was safe and a nice place. Now I am afraid to ever get Accupuncture again and worried about lasting consequences from what was done to me. Luckily I feel fine now so hopefully there is no lasting damage. read more

I've been a patient of Sonja Marge-Barrow's for a few years now. She is wonderful! She really put me at ease about acupuncture. Sonja is extremely professional and caring. She is gentle and takes the time needed with her patients.I didn't know acupuncture could be so relaxing! The space is gorgeous. I've been going to her for general health/well being and I haven't been sick in a long time. I attribute that to her. A bonus-she takes my insurance so all I have to pay is my $30 copay! read more
