I'm giving 5 stars because the lady that did my nails, Nina , was absolutely amazing!!! She took her time with my nails and pedicure! Best pedicure I have experienced! The searing was awkward but I had a massage and I was in a corner by myself so wasn't right next to other during my pedicure! My pedicure was great! Now the only negative is the front receptionist with the glasses seemed a little rude was frustrated and shouldn't behave the way she did in front of customers where we can overhear her frustration! Very disappointed, had been going to Emeralds for a long time, before finding a new salon we liked better. And definitely this will be the last of trying Emeralds again. Turned a mom, daughter & granddaughter's girls day into an expensive disappointment. My poor 7 year old granddaughter was so upset with her $50+ mani/pedi she cried. Not wanting to make her feel worse, I promised to take her some place else. If they couldn't do her nails because they are small, they should have said so. They weren't shy charging me full price, I even showed the girl at check out her nails, she tried to fix them in a few places. Over $200+ & 2 hours of my life I'll never get back, maybe I can spare someone else the grief. If I wasn't stressed & dealing with an upset child I would have said something! Of course you never really notice until later on. My nail had a lot of polish on my skin around my nails. The gel doesn't come off as easy of regular polish. Also ever since they changed there pedicure chairs into 1 long bench, which is very uncomfortable, I have been going to other salons. If I didn't have a girt card, I wouldn't have gone back. Check around there are other nail salons around, check them out. Oh, FYI after going many times over the years, not one time were we ever offered something to drink. Came to the salon with a bridal party of 10. The bride had made appointments for mani pedis. We were attended to efficiently, so I will give them credit for being prepared for us staffing-wise. However, the nail tech did too many coats on our toes. 4 of us had chipped toe nail polish the next day (the wedding day). My nail tech forgot to do a top coat and stopped me on my way to the bathroom and asked if she could do the top coat. The "manicure" I paid for, was not a manicure service. The nail tech soaked my hands and then painted them. I did gel nails which usually last at least two weeks. These lasted 4 days before they started peeling off. No cuticle cutting, no cuticle oil, no hand massage. I paid over $70 for a sub par result. I will not go back. read more

I am so disappointed in my experience here. This was the second time I'd visited but the first time I asked for the liquid/ UV gel. I even called and told them that I wanted the UV gel and made it clear at least three more times when I got to the salon and showed a reference picture. When I sat down with the tech she started prepping for an acrylic full set so I stopped her and said for the fourth time that I wanted the liquid gel not the acrylic. After I had said that she looked worried and confused but laughed. I didn't think much of it because the nail tips were the shape I wanted. Fast forward to the gel application, she's grabbing a massive blob of gel on her brush and it's getting everywhere. She's bouncing it up and down on my nail creating so many air bubbles that don't come out. I've been getting liquid gel nails for at least two years and never had I have someone bounce the gel on my nail and apply it so thick and unevenly. You literally just apply it like you would a polish, it's just thicker and is harder. This gel was applied so thick on my nail it was dripping off the tip and flooding the sides of my nail. Fast forward and she's finally done applying the gel, instead of grabbing the drill and evening them out she uses a coarse nail file and goes to town. I had to stop her multiple times because she was scraping my cuticle and the sides of my fingers. She took a buffer to the tips and was so rough on my right hand ring and pinky nail that there are now two white spots where the nail was lifting and pulling my natural nail with it. It's been hardly a day and the corners are already lifting and I've had two break which forced me to cut the rest down and file them accordingly. If you're going to offer a service, make sure your employees know how to apply correctly. I will never be back. Don't waste your money or time if you're coming for the UV gel nails. read more

I just had my nails done with Nina and she was excellent. I came in as a walk-in and she was able to take me straight back for a manicure. For some reason the last few manicures that I have gotten (not at this salon, at others) it was pretty disappointing. They always concentrate more on pedicures so the manicures always felt rushed and not completed fully. I didn't have that experience with Nina at Emerald Spa & Nails. She took her time and really made it a great experience. As a momma, I don't get out to get my nails done often so I was very glad that she made this experience enjoyable! :) read more

I just wanted to say that my experience was average when i came here but when it came time to remove the nails it was a different story. I was soaking off my nails with acetone like normal and i noticed that the acrylic came off and it was goopy and it did flake off. If you don't know that's a sign that there is MMA (methyl methacrylate) and that is illegal to us on nails. MMA can cause permanent damage to your nails. Also when I was filing them off it had a very strong odor. Also my nail tech did not do any sort of nail prep. read more

To make a long story short I made an appointment for acrylics at 11:45, as I am driving to my appointment I am contacted asking if I can actually come at 12:15 instead?, I said okay, got some gas and showed up at 12:00. I figured okay I can wait 15 minutes, that's fine. I sat there waiting until 12:35 and the girl rushed through my nails and did not even give me the nails I wanted. I told her that I was there to get Gold acrylics and she gave me black gel nails with gold foil on the tips..... I asked her if the black gel would chip and/or peel and she said "no it will not chip you should be fine." Even though I specifically asked for acrylics :/ In the first week I had one nail break off and I went back to get it fixed and they charged me $6 for 1 nail repair......................... And it didn't even last a week and broke AGAIN not even a week later.... I forgot to also mention that in the beginning of this second week of having these nails another one broke off and I've been re-gluing it on myself, because I did not want to pay another $6. Not to mention that this is only the second week that i have had these nails on and the GEL is ALREADY peeling and chipping 2 weeks in...??? I truly feel like $6 is a little much for 1 nail that is just going to break the same week you get it repaired.... Very very very disappointed. The regular guy I would go to at this place I later found out was fired but did they tell me.... no. The receptionist told me someone else would do them and act like I want them to do them so they won't feel bad. They are terrible and are over priced. The place is very nice and clean. Customer service and quality of work is terrible. I had a new nail tech who painted my nails like an 8 year old she didn't file them, and didn't cut them so they were even. When I asked her about it she said talk to the owner who was not there. She was slow and did not have her license posted as the other girls did. She didn't do any lotion on my hands or arms. I paid 100$ for the best manicure got what could've been done by my granddaughter. When I asked about her experience because she was so Slow and sloppy she told me she learned what she knew on YouTube! I was overcharged and asked the receptionist who said the owner was gone and would contact me. That never happened. Poorly managed. The workers decide who they serve. The new owners have no input. So sorry Nancy sold this establishment. From when you walk in the door.....until you leave all you hear is communication in another language. Most of the workers don't speak or understand English. The pedicure area is very dark and uninviting. You sit on a hard bench with everyone else. You can't even put your purse on the bench with you because it might touch your neighbor who's getting a pedicure next to you on both sides. The nail tech was not very friendly. Once she knew I was getting the basic mani / pedi without an upgrade she never spoke to me again! Worst manicure I have ever had. The tech spoke to another tech that was working behind her the entire time she worked on my nails. She did not speak to me once. The tools she used on my nails were dirty, the emery board was grossly dirty. After she finished filing and cleaning my nails she sprayed them with water, wiped them then added the polish. I have NEVER been to a spa that didn't have you was your hands before applying polish. The very little amount of lotion she used was from an open pouch that hardly had any left. The amount of lotion used was so small that it didn't cover my arms and hands. I had to come home wash my hands and apply my own lotion. She didn't massage my hands nor my arms. I went here for the first time yesterday and it was easily one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten. The woman who did my nails was nice, but was clearly rushing. I think my gel manicure took a maximum of 20 minutes. My nail polish looks messy and uneven, and I had to ask her to fix one (even though I wanted to tell her to redo the entire thing) because it was so bad. I also had nail polish all over my fingertips that I had to ask her to remove. Further, their tools aren't sterilized. As far as I can see, anyway. This girl took the tools out of a box at her station, and when she was done with me, put the tools back in the box and back in her desk. That's just disgusting. The pedicure was mediocre. My toenails are also painted messily. The chair was extremely uncomfortable - I wasn't even able to sit back (you have to sit straight up, you literally can't relax). I was charged $71 for both. After paying, the woman who did my nails came up and told the girl at the desk something, then the girl tried to charge me $1 more. That's just ridiculous. The girl at the front was also clearly in a bad mood and wasn't afraid to make that known. Terrible customer service. If you want a halfway decent manicure, I don't suggest going here. Terrible experience. Won't go back. They should have stayed in the old location. The ambiance is lost. The staff are money hungry and are not as good. Maybe they think they are a high end spa now and can charge more I don't know but something has changed. They were Pushy and unfriendly. Sad because I loved the old place. One of the techs had the nerve to argue with my friend and refuse to fix a smudge on her toenail because it was closing time! Told her she did it so they weren't responsible. Most of the time I have had a great experience but lately I feel I have been rushed. As a result two times in a row the gel polish which of course costs more pealed just a day or two after putting it on. Not the usual 2 weeks or more. I attribute this to being rushed to get to the next customer. Both times they fixed it free of charge but of course it wastes my time to find a time to come in. Not easy with my schedule. I was told to go wash my hands with the scrub on my last visit. I told the tech. to please watch my purse and I was gone 4 minutes. She had already taken the next client and set my purse up on the reception desk. This was scary because this is right by the door and if the receptionist had not noticed my purse could have easily been stolen. I am going to see if this set of gel peals and if it does I am going to find a new place. Also, this is minor but sometimes the receptionist with the blond hair can be really grumpy and abrupt when checking you in and out. This is the worst salon I've ever been to. I went in to get my gel polish changed. The lady drilled the polish off even though I told her I did not want it drilled because my nails are thin. She didn't clean off the dust before applying the gel. I was charged $26 for a very bad repaint! I'll never go back and definitely wouldn't want anyone else to lose their $ for bad service. My normal nail salon closed and after going without a manicure I decided to try this salon. It is very cramped and not very clean. I got a gel manicure. The selection of polish left much to be desired.They didn't even use cuticle softener and after minimal filing started the polish. The girl doing my nails was quiet but nice enough. She would paint a few nails and then put my hand under the light. The top coat seemed very thick and goopy. Other than one odd blob on the corner of a nail they seemed ok. I came here on a visit with family and I like the services they offer. I had a spa pedicure and a foot massage for $41. They also provided a tray of fruit and pretzels to snack on with a refreshing drink of your choice. The place is clean and decor is nice. My only small complaint is the lack of ventilation.
