I don't see how they can make a better shake I think it's worth it to get the 24 oz I think it's $1.50 more. I do ask for extra flavor because they tend to be a little on the watery side and I don't know if they're charging for that or not but it's definitely worth it like an extra scoop of powder. I usually get the builder banana protein with vitamin boost it comes out to $14 with the tax but that replaces one or two meals. Plus it keeps me off the fat and I know it's high in protein and very satisfying. Other flavors they have strawberry, chocolate, banana, and I think almond. They only have nonfat milk but they do have ice cream. I don't know if they have other milks like goat milk, almond, cashew, things like that but still a very healthy choice and they've been in business for many years now so that tells you they're doing something right. Went to get a smoothie at lunchtime on a Tuesday (during business hours) and the door was locked. We thought maybe they closed for lunch but there was no sign on the door or anything online that indicated they would be closed. We could see someone inside so knocked on the door a few times but they would not answer. I can understand if they want to close for lunch (though I'm not sure that's the best idea business wise), but they should make that clear on their website or through signage. If you need a protein smoothie, this place is for you. It's next to a Golds Gym, so that's convenient. Smoothies - delicious. I got the guava one. It's a little too sweet for me but it's not bad. My boyfriend got the Peanut Passion. That one was super yummy! Perfect consistency for me (I know everyone likes different things but I really like the consistency of the blend here - very creamy). I will probably come back and try some other flavors if I'm in the area again. Decor - it's bare and not the prettiest but let's be honest, who cares? One guy gave this place a 3 Star because it looked bad. Honestly, I'm only coming in and heading right back out. If you want to sit and stay around there is one table with a couple chairs. Bottom line: I'd recommend it if you're needing a post work out smoothie or mid day pick-me-up. I love emerald city smoothie but this place would probably fail a health inspection. On two occasions the owner has used dirty blenders. Like how many times do you use the same blender? It looked like 10. It looks like bacteria heaven behind the counter, and this was on more than one occasion. Came here a handful of times and NEVER returning again. The taste of the smoothies is very inconsistent (no standard method of preparation?). A couple times, we've had a smoothie that was suppose to be a peanut butter banana shake, but it was bland and tasted like nothing (too much ice!) - what a waste of money! The Asian guy that works there (appears to be the owner?) needs vast improvement on his listening and customer service skills (he's the in the wrong business). He is the single reason we've stopped patronizing this ECS. He's not unfriendly but he's also not friendly..he's just barely trying. He's apathetic. The last straw was when I ordered one drink for my wife and one for me. I tried to tell him the special nuances to each order but he's just got his head down and did not even TRY to acknowledge each special difference in my customer order. Like dude..acknowledge your customers and let them know your listening! A nod or verbal confirmation are usually the norms. Is it truly that difficult? Ultimately, I walked out of there with a horrible inconsistent consistency to my smoothie and my wife tasted whey protein in hers, of which I specifically asked for him not to put in hers. Listening skills, man! While I should have marched back there to complain and receive new smoothies, it just wasn't worth my time and drive. Rather, when you truly have a bad (repeatedly) customer experience it's much easier to just stop giving them business they don't deserve! On a separate, probably less relevant, but on a must-say note, the curb appeal is nonexistent and laughable. The store looks like it got ransacked by fleeing survivors of the impending Armageddon. A few supplements bottles here and there, and the rest is negative space and shelving. The Asian guy's apathy literally translates into the visual layout of the store. He and the store are in need of a serious magic dose of inspo. The last two times I've been to this location, I've been charged $2 more than what was on the receipt. The first time this happened, I thought it might be a mistake. The second time I was smart and asked for a receipt. And to my surprise it happened again. My best guess is that they are adding an extra tip. Some have a ton of sugar, so check on that if you're trying to go less carb. However, they had an option to fit every diet. Some smoothies taste like fake powder, but many are good. I was not impressed with this location. I am now sure that the ECS is not corporate but private franchises, as there are glaring differences in the atmosphere and quality of products between this and the other location I have been to. While I love the other location I frequent, this location is closer to my job, and I was feeling yucky that day. I felt like coming to this location I could expect the same caliber smoothie as I am accustomed to from their products. I was wrong. The store is poorly organized, giant clunky looking shelves full of vitamins and supplements. The menus are not well organized and confusing to read. I couldn't find a lot of the smoothie choices I actually like, because they just don't have as many choices. They also don't have as many add-ons. I went with a raspberry/strawberry concoction with protein, energy, and I added vitamin c and antioxidant blend. The smoothie tasted watered down, and indeed, was not as thick as I like. I could taste the powdered additives in it like it wasn't blended enough, but it could have been the fact that the drink was just not thick enough to evenly disburse the ingredients. Moreso, the fruit didn't taste fresh, and the prices on their menus were all lower than what I was actually charged. I really don't think i'll be back to this location again. read more

I've been to ECS plenty of times, this location the least out of them all. The owner (Asian dude), was working yesterday and I ordered a chocolate builder (1270 calories, gainer shake, protein powder, ice cream, soy milk, etc.) Its supposed to be so thick that it doesn't want to budge through the straw, after all it's 1270 calories in a 32oz cup, liquid form. This guy makes me an ice shake with a pinch of chocolate powder on top. I get it my man, you think you can save money by skimping on ingredients and thought I wouldn't notice. It was like drinking a melted slurpee made with only ice shave. Good looks on the shi**y drink. Waste of money. read more

Whenever I'm really feeling like crap my dad and I stop here for smoothies! The staff is friendly and the vibe is really laid back. It never takes long for them to make the smoothies and the quality is very consistent. I appreciate that they don't add sugar and I feel full and more alive after drinking one of their smoothies. My current favorite flavor is the Marionberry Fuel, and my dad likes the mango one! Walked in, gave my order, and Jessica read it back to me wrong, so I gave her my order again. She looks at me and says, "You don't have to talk to me like I'm retarded, dude." WHAT?? First of all, I didn't. She makes what I ordered, rings it up, and then asks if I want to open a punch card. I say no, and then say that I'm probably not coming back here. Ok this is a good smoothie but not cheap. I really want to go more like a 3.5 star but I'm bumping it a little because it was delicious. With tax my smoothie was $8. For basic ingredients in a blender I have a hard time paying that much. With that said it was tasty and filling and had protein to carry me over. I got a passion fruit smoothie and had them leave out the ice cream since I wanted something healthier. It was tart and tasty. I wish the price was a little more on point for me to justify getting them on a regular basic but since I can make a good smoothie at home, I will have to keep this as a treat or a healthy option if I am out and hungry. read more

Party pooper here. I used to like coming to this location until the young (new) guy started making my smoothies. Everyone else, including the young ladies and the older guy, always get my order right. The young guy, however, seems to be preoccupied with other things and NEVER listens to my order carefully. He has made at least five smoothies for me and still gets it wrong very single time. I cringe whenever I see him working and keep my fingers crossed as I repeat my order slowly and clearly. What's ambiguous about a "32-ounce Lean Body with chocolate peanut butter protein, strawberry base, add peanut butter, and make it thick"? All the ingredient options are listed on the menu board and I'm not adding anything off the menu. Yet the guy continues to make me a 24-ounce smoothie every time, so watery that I can finish in one sipping. I have given the guy the benefit of the doubt enough times, so for now I will drive out of my way and visit other locations instead. Too bad since this is the closest location to my house. read more

This ain't the sexiest operation you'll ever see. This place looks like it could have been a Radio Shack or a Cingular Wireless in the late 90's. As it pertains to decor this place doesn't have much of a style. In the grand scheme I suppose that isn't very important. The smoothies that I have tasted are really good. I get the Zesty Lemon with extra strawberry. I pretty much always see the same guy behind the counter when I go, the Asian guy with glasses. He is really nice and makes a great libation.
