They play games, tell stories, and stay in character the whole time, which makes for a fun and interactive experience. The little ones especially enjoyed the pirate hats and treasure at the end. For adults, though, it's a bit on the cheesy side. The boat ride itself isn't much--just a short trip out in front of some beachfront hotels before turning around. If you're expecting an actual sightseeing cruise or something more adventurous, this might not be it. That said, if you're looking for a break from the beach and something different to entertain the kids, it does the job. A few things to know: Kids 8 and under must wear a life jacket, which they provide or you can bring your own as long as it's Coast Guard approved. Also, expect to get wet! We dressed the kids in swimsuits, and even my spouse and I ended up getting splashed. Overall, it's a fun way to mix things up during a week at the beach, but it's definitely more for the kids than the adults.

They learned their names, and would involve them to help with games and tasks. Midway through, our kids were having a blast and laughing. There were some shy kids who did not/would not like the spotlight, but Captain Barnacle and Capable Kyle were savvy, and would low-key include them with a quick fist bump or would bring the treasure or whatever directly to them instead. The boat is really cool. You'll get wet. And remember...never trust a pirate!

Crab bisque had a velvet smooth texture, great flavor- needs more crab meat. Gumbo- excellent flavor no added hot sauce needed. Fried shrimp were perfectly cooked. This is an odd menu item, but I'll admit, I'd eat it again: crab and Brie quesadillas topped with hot honey. Not a big portion but perfect with the bisque. This had great flavor! All-in-all a great experience with a dockside restaurant view. Worth your trip and if you get there early enough they have a great happy hour.

Fishers was the restaurant that had been in this space for years and was my favorite!!! Sadly, They closed a few years ago ( not due to lack of business). When we stepped in the elevator my husband said, this does not make a good first impression, it was filthy. The interior of Fishers was gorgeous, elegant and comfortable. It has now been decorated in tacky seafood restaurant decor ( fishing nets, lighthouses, etc) and is painted a bright harsh blue. We are seated and we had two waitresses come to table , we assumed maybe one was in training but they never introduced themselves that way. They were both like deer in the headlights. We ordered a drink and an ahi tuna appetizer. It was a triangular piece of tuna floating in Italian dressing. I could not cut it with my fork. I had to spit it in my napkin. My husband then went to the men's room and when he returned he said " I can't eat here", he said the bathroom was terribly dirty and the toilet was stopped up, and it wasn't utine. He said " you can tell a lot about a business by their restrooms". We didn't touch the tuna again. We asked for the check and she brought the check, never asking "is everything okay?" , "is there a problem with your food"? Long way of saying "don't waste your time or money"

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

Our meals came with fries and the fries tasted like they were cooked two hours ago in old frying oil. Then, we ordered drinks, I got a margarita and it tasted super weird like they put a bunch of club soda in it?? So yeah the environment was nice but if you go I wouldn't order anything. There's another restaurant across the street Cobalt that we went to the night before and their food was amazing! The food quality was way higher and the prices were great!

It's the food folks go there for. The oysters were fresh and served in a simple appealing way. The fish was white and firm and delicious. The grilled shrimp they are famous for do not have a savory flavor, tastes more like they were grilled with honey on them. We were not expecting that at all. We did not like the 30 dollars worth of sweet shrimp. It does come in very generous portion if you like that type of flavor. Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Overall they are friendly, the service is personable and efficient! Ambiance is that of a local diner style, not fancy just comfortable. We liked everything but the sweet grilled shrimp. We are from the north and maybe it is just a southern style we aren't familiar with or used to consuming. The gumbo is pretty good too. They have great mixed drinks and they have one that is a salted caramel flavor that is really excellent. Overall: would highly recommend for a good meal and friendly service. Probably the best place we ate in the Orange Beach area.

We were seated immediately by the staff and sat outside with awesome views of the marina. For an appetizer we chose the crab and shrimp dip served with naan bread. The dip had plenty of meat and sprinkled with thinly sliced parm. The naan bread was hot as well. I chose the Bayou Cajun Pasta that was full of sausage, shrimp, crawfish and peppers. It was piping hot and the spicy level was high but not spicy hot. My son had the shrimp and fish basket. The shrimp were large and perfectly prepared. The fish came with the tail fin on it and was delicious. Finally my daughter-in-law had the shrimp scampi and she said it was delightful. Thanks for the great food and service.

I had the Shrimp Scampi & brussel sprouts to eat and the Orange Beach Sangria. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The pasta had an overpowering lemon flavor and the brussel sprouts in a vinegar-like dressing. Overall, this was a good experience wise from service to ambiance, but the food could have been better.
