We would do at least two cruises a year some times so I can say I've been in it at least a dozen or more times and in 2026 it still doesn't disappoint. Some of my fondest memories of the Gulf are aboard these boats and I don't see those memories becoming something of the past and believe more will be made in the future. You WILL see dolphins. And not just swimming down below like some cruises. This will be the highlight of your trip.

Worst fishing trip ever on Daddy's Baby. The Captain acted…read moreas though we ruined his Saturday and hated being there. He didn't hardly even speak to us except to repeat 3x, "do not thrown toilet paper in the toilet, put it in the basket only". Which was ironic since there was no toilet paper anywhere on that boat. The main reason we were willing to pay more for a boat with a toilet, yet we couldn't use it. Unbelievable...how cheap do you have to be to make the customers provide their own toilet paper??? Also, when comparing boat to price in the area, this boat seems way over priced for the age and condition it's in. It looks nothing like it does on the website...maybe when it was new, but certainly not now. As for the captain, we don't even know his name because he never introduced himself but he did manage to be very snippy towards the deck hand. The fishing equipment kept breaking which took time away from fishing. The one time the Capt. came down from his perch, we got to over hear him telling the deck hand that the last deck hand, "broke all the equipment and took things out of spite. As soon as we got back to the dock Dale fired him". So why didn't he have it all fixed and replaced before we got on the boat??? Not to mention the equipment was all very old and wore out. We spent 3-4 hrs riding out and around looking for fish and 2 actually fishing. Nothing we caught was as over 10" long. The Captain didn't seem to know what he was doing at all. We didn't even catch 1 fish in the last hour. He didn't have a clue (or just didn't care) how to put us on any fish anywhere. We had asked the Captain as we were departing the marina, "what kind of fish can we expect to be catching?" And his response was "not much sense everything is out of season". We hoped he was joking, but he was not. No one told us this when we booked it? We had specifically asked about and said we wanted a private charter that we might expect to catch some big fish on, even if we had to throw them back. We just wanted to have lots of fun because it was a birthday present for someone in our group. The gentleman booking it said "oh you will catch some good ones, our captain's know how to put you on the fish and you will have a great time". We knew some fish were out of season so we'd be throwing a lot back but even the red snapper we caught and threw back were under 10" long. WTH??? We've been on several charter trips and this is by far the worst ever. The "fish weren't biting" excuse can't be applied here either because 3 other boats were at Zekes Marina cleaning fish when we got back and their haul was huge! We asked what kind of charters they were, thinking it was an 8 or 10 hr charter, but no, they were 4 and 6 hr charters like ours. Yet they caught bigger and more, not to mention their customers were laughing and going on and on about how much fun they had. We had NONE! If it weren't for our deck hand (who gets 5 stars) we would've been miserable! He was the saving grace to this crappy trip. We tipped him good because he tried very hard to take up the slack of this lackadaisical captain. We're sure business is so good for this company that they don't have to worry about customer service so our review won't bother them a bit. Nor will our bad experience cause them to loose sleep spending our hard earned $1400 we had to pay for this joke of a fishing trip. But know this, not that it means that much, Class Act Charters will never be recommended by us and will always be a very bad memory for us. Very disappointed, is an understatement!

We had a lovely time with our family this evening. Our group included my husband, my parents, and…read moreour three children. Everything was well organized, easy to find, and check-in was smooth and efficient. The seating situation was a bit tight, and several families seemed frustrated trying to find spots where they could sit together. However, Captain Drew and Deckhand Dusty more than made up for it with their hospitality and sense of humor. They were especially kind to my sons and really went above and beyond to make the experience special. They also took sunset photos for all the groups and had a fun playlist going throughout the trip. One member of our group (my mom) would have preferred a more serene, nature-focused experience without the music, but others enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere. The glass-bottom feature wasn't very useful during our trip because the water was still murky from last week's storms, though that's obviously beyond anyone's control and other groups may have better luck. We were fortunate to see several dolphins, and the cruise was the perfect length- long enough to enjoy the sunset and dolphin sightings, but not so long that my kids got too tired after a full day at the beach. Overall, it was a very enjoyable family experience.

Captain Randy was a fantastic skipper who made the cruise very enjoyable and comfortable for all. Unlike some other sailing companies, we ACTUALLY sailed in the Gulf (engine off) and enjoyed the breeze and the views. As a sailor on Lake Michigan, Captain Randy let me take the helm of the 35-foot Beneteau for much of the sail. (THANKS, Captain!) He has tons of local knowledge and provided great information to our group. The boat was super clean - the topsides dazzling white and the woodwork varnish below deck looked wet it was so fresh looking. My only regret is that we did not book a longer cruise. Tom H. It was a little crowded if you were fishing on the sides of the boat. The captain did his best to put us on fish, and moved a number of times. All in all, it was fun and we each caught some fish. The mates were really good - they took your fish off, cut up bait, helped with tangled rods, cleaned your fish. If you can afford to charter a captain and boat, that would definitely be more fun. And I cannot imagine taking the 3pm fishing trip if it's July or August - it would be hotter than hell. But for the cost, this was fun. Definitely a well-managed operation.

The full trip is about 2 hours. We did see dolphins but total time viewing dolphins was maybe 15-20 minutes if that. Obviously you can't predict animal's behavior so we were just happy to see dolphins at all! They have a top level that's air conditioned, the top front deck only allows 16 people at a time(didn't get a chance to explore it), bottom level has plenty of space along the sides of the boat to look for dolphins(picture included). They play music and even played a song we requested, Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. They have drinks and snacks on board. Unfortunately drinks were pricey. $5 beers, $3 waters, $10 daiquiris.. This was a perfect boat tour including shrimping and dolphin watching. It all starts with…read morefantastic customer service. From the first call to meeting the boat Captain. It was second to none. During this 2 hour charter, we encountered perhaps 10-12 dolphins in one spot. The dolphins were all around the boat at a very close range. The shrimping portion consisted of the Captain explaining how to cast, drag, and recover the net. We retrieved the net and went through all the shrimp, crab, and fish that were caught and then tossed them back into the water. What makes the tour is the Captain. Jason was very friendly and knows the area well. It started with safety instructions, which is always good to know. Jason was friendly throughout the tour and answered many questions we had in regards to the local area and environment. He was also friendly in general conversation and his passion for the water, environment, and Gulf Shores area. What I liked about this tour is it is more private. The boat we were on could accommodate up to 6 passengers. Does this make it more expensive than the overcrowded tours? Yes, but is was worth every penny.
