Unlike some other sailing companies, we ACTUALLY sailed in the Gulf (engine off) and enjoyed the breeze and the views. As a sailor on Lake Michigan, Captain Randy let me take the helm of the 35-foot Beneteau for much of the sail. (THANKS, Captain!) He has tons of local knowledge and provided great information to our group. The boat was super clean - the topsides dazzling white and the woodwork varnish below deck looked wet it was so fresh looking. My only regret is that we did not book a longer cruise. Tom H. It was a little crowded if you were fishing on the sides of the boat. The captain did his best to put us on fish, and moved a number of times. All in all, it was fun and we each caught some fish. The mates were really good - they took your fish off, cut up bait, helped with tangled rods, cleaned your fish. If you can afford to charter a captain and boat, that would definitely be more fun. And I cannot imagine taking the 3pm fishing trip if it's July or August - it would be hotter than hell. But for the cost, this was fun. Definitely a well-managed operation.

My husband began to have chest & back pains late in the day and was not sure if it was related to muscle or heart. We tried to call after 8 pm to find out about cancelling but they were closed and there was no emergency number noted. So he just took some meds and tried to sleep and thought he would still be okay to go. After a horrible night of muscle spasms and pain he knew that he needed to be seen medically this morning. We called at 5 am and left a message and then I called again at 5:45 to tell the store owner and she said to speak to Lynn at 9 am. After the doc appt and a doctor's notice for rest till Monday I went there to explain and ask for our $515 refund. Lynn had no compassion, no Hello or anything as I told her what happened. She said repeatedly that they are there to make money and she would not issue a refund or an offer of when you return back we can put you on another charter NOTHING. Just rudeness. I know there is a no-cancel policy but emergencies do arise and you should analyze on case by case situation. God forbid if my husband had gone anyways and needed emergency care on board the boat. I am sure you made plenty of money with 13 on board at $250 per person + tips. You will never get our business and we bring friends & business owners down all the time who love to fish and have plenty of money to spend. Such a shame that this is how greed has been today.

The full trip is about 2 hours. We did see dolphins but total time viewing dolphins was maybe 15-20 minutes if that. Obviously you can't predict animal's behavior so we were just happy to see dolphins at all! They have a top level that's air conditioned, the top front deck only allows 16 people at a time(didn't get a chance to explore it), bottom level has plenty of space along the sides of the boat to look for dolphins(picture included). They play music and even played a song we requested, Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. They have drinks and snacks on board. Unfortunately drinks were pricey. $5 beers, $3 waters, $10 daiquiris.. Staff including the captain were friendly but not knowledgeable. At one point the captain said we were cruising the Gulf of America.. Alabama is on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico as named in 1550. Really disappointed by that comment but not surprised as we're in Alabama.

The weather was great and the tour lasted the entire two hours. The captain taught us all about crabbing, shrimping and oystering. When we went shrimping, we attracted 7-9 dolphins trying to eat the fish we were catching. We saw the dolphins right up next to our boat. It was so fun. I'd recommend this tour to anyone.

Captain Skip is knowledgeable and friendly and his love of nature is evident as he shares his expertise about local birds, shellfish, crabs, shrimp, mammals and fish. We watched him use an oyster rake to pull up wild oysters and learned so much about oysters! Did you know oysters filter water and have a lifespan of 12-14 years? He also pulled up a crab trap and we saw blue crabs closeup. We cruised to The Wharf where we were able to do some fishing. Captain Skip has fishing poles, license, bait and tackle; he made it easy and fun! We even caught a few pinfish. And yes, we saw dolphins too!
