We had a lovely time with our family this evening. Our group included my husband, my parents, and our three children. Everything was well organized, easy to find, and check-in was smooth and efficient. The seating situation was a bit tight, and several families seemed frustrated trying to find spots where they could sit together. However, Captain Drew and Deckhand Dusty more than made up for it with their hospitality and sense of humor. They were especially kind to my sons and really went above and beyond to make the experience special. They also took sunset photos for all the groups and had a fun playlist going throughout the trip. One member of our group (my mom) would have preferred a more serene, nature-focused experience without the music, but others enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere. The glass-bottom feature wasn't very useful during our trip because the water was still murky from last week's storms, though that's obviously beyond anyone's control and other groups may have better luck. We were fortunate to see several dolphins, and the cruise was the perfect length- long enough to enjoy the sunset and dolphin sightings, but not so long that my kids got too tired after a full day at the beach. We had the best time today riding with Drew and the crew. The drinks were great. We saw SO many dolphins. At times, there were 8-10 at one time to see! They put on quite the show for us. I am so glad we did this! My kids enjoyed the ride just as much as seeing the dolphins. The captains were fun! One made us drinks. We got the "pink dolphin". Delicious and strong! They told us about the area, the gulf, the locals. The dolphins came close to the boat and I hope everyone has that experience also! At the beginning they drive you out to where the dolphins actually are. It's about 10-20 minutes. Then we cruised and circled the prime Dolphin area. They really try to have everyone capture with their cameras or phones. They maneuver the boat to help us see the best views. I heard about this specific Dolphin tour company from a Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach/ Perdido Key/ Pensacola Facebook group I joined. Someone asked about Dolphin tours and I liked the price and glass bottom boats. Note: Glass Bottom Boat was awesome. Water is not clear. We were eating at Cobalt restaurant and noticed the glass bottom boats near the dock and went to check it out.... we met Captain Schmidty and we knew we should book this tour! We went up to the office and booked for the next day! The crew worked hard to find the dolphins and they did NOT disappoint. A very cool Dolphin Tour. That said, DO NOT make your decision to come on this cruise because of the "Glass Bottom Boat" aspect. You will likely be disappointed. It's difficult to see anything past a few inches under water. DO however decide because the boats are nice and roomy and the captain and crew are friendly and knowledgeable. I have no regret about picking this particular tour, and we did see several dolphins, I just don't want others deciding based on the idea that there is some awesome undersea world that you can look at if you pick the Dolphins Down Under. read more
