From the 11th-floor balcony of my Airbnb condo, I spotted a boat cruising by the beach with a name and phone number displayed on its side. Curious, I looked up Dolphins Down Under and found a gem! My group of four was searching for a fun activity that day, but other excursions were either booked or overpriced. Dolphins Down Under offered a budget-friendly option--costing about the same for all four of us as a single ticket for other activities. I booked a tour just 2 miles away, and the clear directions made it a breeze to find. We arrived early, checked in with the friendly staff, and browsed the nearby shop, where I grabbed a hat (though the boat's canopy made it unnecessary). The boat had ample seating, and once we set sail, we moved around freely to catch the best dolphin views. Captain Adam and Deckhand Jackson were fantastic, explaining everything clearly and steering smoothly to keep motion sickness at bay--perfect for someone like me who's had issues on rougher waters. The sea was calm, and we spotted several dolphins, capturing amazing photos and videos! The crew kept a close eye on the weather as a storm rolled in. We were fine with a little rain, but when lightning flashed, they smartly headed back to the dock. We got caught in a downpour just as we disembarked, which left us drenched but laughing--a fun, unexpected memory! For an affordable, unforgettable group adventure, Dolphins Down Under is an ideal choice for lasting memories!
We had the best time on this dolphin cruise! Captains Drew and Alex were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to get out into the gulf and we saw dolphins the whole time, they even jumped and played in our wake. The boat was comfortable, nicely shaded with plenty of seating. I highly recommend this business.
Wish I could upload videos as proof of how cool this experience was for our family, including twin three-year-old boys. Exceptionally nice, punny (yes, puns) captains for our 90 minute voyage. It was as sunny, breezy, and the dolphins seemed to be following along. Also educational. Definitely recommend this experience for your families as well.
Fun experience! Captain and boat mate were great! Served alcohol on the boat along with water and kid beverages and snacks! Bring cash it's easier and you can tip them! Saw multiple dolphins. Took the 10am boat out. Glass bottom is not the whole boat, it's panels (4) that you look down into. Would recommended this tour!
We had the best time today riding with Drew and the crew. The drinks were great. We saw SO many dolphins. At times, there were 8-10 at one time to see! They put on quite the show for us. I am so glad we did this! My kids enjoyed the ride just as much as seeing the dolphins. Would of been sad if we didn't see any but still worth the money between the beautiful water and hilarious puns and jokes sounded off by the crew! Also to note that the crew was very knowledgeable about dolphins.
The captains were fun! One made us drinks. We got the "pink dolphin". Delicious and strong! They told us about the area, the gulf, the locals. The dolphins came close to the boat and I hope everyone has that experience also! At the beginning they drive you out to where the dolphins actually are. It's about 10-20 minutes. Then we cruised and circled the prime Dolphin area. They really try to have everyone capture with their cameras or phones. They maneuver the boat to help us see the best views. I heard about this specific Dolphin tour company from a Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach/ Perdido Key/ Pensacola Facebook group I joined. Someone asked about Dolphin tours and I liked the price and glass bottom boats. Note: Glass Bottom Boat was awesome. Water is not clear. These boats would be cool to go see sharks or something?
We had calm seas so we could go out into the gulf and there were many many dolphins who performed beautifully for us! The captain was very proactive and pointed out where the dolphins were located and maneuvered the boat so we could see them even better. His first mate Alex, was great, and they mixed up some nice little drinks for us too. I highly recommend Captain Drew, and this great dolphins down under ride!
Captain Adam, Hannan and Bethany were a top notch crew! From service, to humor to knowledge, my family enjoyed our time on the boat with them immensely! Enjoy the ride with beverages for each age group and check out the known spots where you're likely to see the dolphins playing. We'll be back as soon as we can, and am for this crew by name!

We had a lovely time with our family this evening. Our group included my husband, my parents, and our three children. Everything was well organized, easy to find, and check-in was smooth and efficient. The seating situation was a bit tight, and several families seemed frustrated trying to find spots where they could sit together. However, Captain Drew and Deckhand Dusty more than made up for it with their hospitality and sense of humor. They were especially kind to my sons and really went above and beyond to make the experience special. They also took sunset photos for all the groups and had a fun playlist going throughout the trip. One member of our group (my mom) would have preferred a more serene, nature-focused experience without the music, but others enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere. The glass-bottom feature wasn't very useful during our trip because the water was still murky from last week's storms, though that's obviously beyond anyone's control and other groups may have better luck. We were fortunate to see several dolphins, and the cruise was the perfect length- long enough to enjoy the sunset and dolphin sightings, but not so long that my kids got too tired after a full day at the beach. Overall, it was a very enjoyable family experience. read more

Wanted to go see some dolphins and we found Dolphins Down Under. Friendly staff and was able to book easily with just a few clicks on the phone. Took a 15 minute ride out to the bay and within minutes started seeing the dolphins swim along the boat. Drinks were available on the boat. Good pricing too, water bottle was $1 wasn't over priced. Pink Dolphin drink was Yummy! Great day trip for our family and friends. read more

This was our 2nd time on the boat!! From the time you arrive they take great care of your party. Captain Drew and Hannon found a friendly pod right away. The Dolphins looked like they were having as good a time as we were watching them!! We then took a nice ride down to Flori-Bama! Great trip and highly recommend! read more

We had a blast on the boat this morning! The Captains were informative and entertaining! We saw quite a few dolphins - they seemed to know right where to go to find them. They knew how to get the dolphins to "play" with the boat to come to the surface more. We would definitely take this tour again next time we're here. read more

We were eating at Cobalt restaurant and noticed the glass bottom boats near the dock and went to check it out.... we met Captain Schmidty and we knew we should book this tour! We went up to the office and booked for the next day! The crew worked hard to find the dolphins and they did NOT disappoint. Both the Captain and Drew were funny, knowledgeable and displayed true southern hospitality the entire time. Drinks and snacks available for purchase on board and they had a really nice selection. We will definitely book again when we come back to Orange Beach! Thank y'all for making our little boys day! read more

My family and I had our summer vacation down in Pensacola, FL and wanted to do a dolphin tour. Unfortunately the tours around us were all booked so we decided to check out Alabama. So glad we did. The tour was fun and the employees working were so nice! One thing to take note of...GPS will take you to the bridge and you will think that you're lost. Parking is next to the sports bar/restaurant and it's free. Don't pay for the parking under the bridge! read more
