We were referred by Down Under Dive Shop for a next-day fishing charter and it did not disappoint! We met Jeff, the deckhand, when we booked the trip and knew we were going to have a blast. He was funny and personable and I had no idea how hard he works until we went out the next day. Jessica called us back immediately and answered all the questions we had about distancing. Elizabeth was the other deck hand and is far more mature than I was when I was a teenager. She and Jeff kept everything going like a well-oiled machine. It took 2 hours to get out to the fishing spot; so take your Dramamine and plan to spend a. Ice ride on the water talking tot the crew and seeing the water change to a rich blue color once you arrive at the deep sea. I'm by no means and experienced angler, but the crew gave pretty simple instructions and I caught 4 Vermilion Snapper. There were some fish we caught that we weren't able to keep because they were out of season or the wrong size. Props to the crew for sticking to the rules, even when people begged to keep their fish. Seeing Jeff and Elizabeth running around like Tasmanian Devils as they unhooked and track every fish caught, untangle fishing lines, throw back fish we couldn't keep, encourage everyone, and then clean the boat on the way back is exhausting to watch. They work hard, so plan to tip well. During the trip, we saw some small shark and a barracuda took a bite out of a fish the woman next to me reeled in. On the way back, a pod of dolphins swam beside us and the captain stopped to let us take a closer look. Jeff and the Captain cleaned and bagged our fish at the end of the trip so we're excited to bring them home.

So my wife decided she wanted to go fishing again and let me just say that we were not disappointed. The captain and first mate were absolutely at top performance today. This trip was incredible, and the best trip yet. We will absolutely be back, this is both time and money well spent.

This was the best part of our week-long stay in Gulf Shores. I have been on several fishing charters in the past, and this has been the best experience I've had by far. My party of 5 caught dozens of fish and we took home 16 keepers. The staff cut them up for us and there was plenty of fillets for us to split between our group. The captain was extremely competent and put us right on the fish, and had excellent control of the boat so we didn't get tangled very much. The 6hr trip did consist of a lot of travel time to reach the deeper waters, but it was definitely worth it. The staff was quick to help us get fish off so we could continue fishing. I will definitely use this charter service again the next time we visit Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

Had a wonderful time fishing with these guys! Today, for us, the fish won. Caught red snapper and Bonito.

I have been out three times, twice on 8 hr trips and once in a 6 hr trip. Crews are great, very helpful and always able to answer any questions I have. I enjoyed the 8 hr trips more than the 6 hr one, since the 6 hr trip still took about an hour and a half to get to the reefs to fish (the 8 hr trip takes about 2 hrs to get to the fishing spots). They've always gotten me into the fish!

Went with a group of 6 on the 6 hour trip and had a blast. The people working there were very personable and helpful. All but one of us ended up pulling something in and most of us got more than one. We even went so far out we ended up getting up close to 5 different dolphins. It was a long ride out but it was well worth it.

My son got sea sick and the crew did a great job to comfort him and to feel better.

When in season we've always landed out limit on snapper and he's usually been able to mix it up some as well. In addition to the usual red, white, vermillion snapper we've come away with trigger fish, Spanish and king mackerel, and on one occasion a 150 lb bull shark. Beyond getting us on fish their quality of service is great. He's very sociable and good with younger ones (we've taken 10 year olds out as well as adults only groups). Their service is summed up well in that when you arrive back at the dock his wife is there waiting with smoked snapper dip (Cajun and regular) with crackers to enjoy while they're cleaning your catch.

We did the 6 am leave out and even though they were a little late due to the uncertain weather, they made the time right. We caught fish for a little over 2 hours. Captain Randy was a fantastic skipper who made the cruise very enjoyable and comfortable for all. Unlike some other sailing companies, we ACTUALLY sailed in the Gulf (engine off) and enjoyed the breeze and the views. As a sailor on Lake Michigan, Captain Randy let me take the helm of the 35-foot Beneteau for much of the sail. (THANKS, Captain!) He has tons of local knowledge and provided great information to our group. The boat was super clean - the topsides dazzling white and the woodwork varnish below deck looked wet it was so fresh looking. My only regret is that we did not book a longer cruise. Tom H. It was a little crowded if you were fishing on the sides of the boat. The captain did his best to put us on fish, and moved a number of times. All in all, it was fun and we each caught some fish. The mates were really good - they took your fish off, cut up bait, helped with tangled rods, cleaned your fish. If you can afford to charter a captain and boat, that would definitely be more fun. And I cannot imagine taking the 3pm fishing trip if it's July or August - it would be hotter than hell. But for the cost, this was fun. Definitely a well-managed operation.
