Recently opened up in January 2025, and they serve fresh Halal food. All their food is made fresh, none of that frozen crap . The food definitely shmacks and even made my soul a little lighter knowing that the food was prepared well. Shout out to the food that feeds the mind and soul. I've been wanting to try Ember Grill for awhile. Since it's Friday, I decided to treat myself to a fried chicken sandwich and onion rings. They had run out of onion rings, so I got regular fries instead. I got my order to go and they came packed in a 12oz cup. The fries are hand cut and on the softer side. I ate about half because the chicken sandwich was pretty big! The chicken is very juicy and very crispy. It comes with pickles and their Ember sauce, which is creamy and tangy. I'm not a pickle person, but I actually would've liked more pickles in the sandwich to give it more acidity. But I like my foods more on the acidic side, especially with fried foods. Not sure if a tomato would work, too.. but fresh lettuce would also be a nice addition. Granted, fresh veggies might not hold up for takeout orders (unless packed separately) because of the heat from the chicken. The space is small, but it doesn't take too long to get your order. I probably waited less than 15mins, so turn around time can be quick. And despite the small space, I didn't smell like food so it's well ventilated. The gentleman who took the order was very nice. This space has been vacant even before the pandemic as it was a sandwich pop up. I'm so happy that it's now being occupied. Saw this spot opened up near work and wanted to try it out! Grabbed the Impossible Burger Meal and throughly enjoyed it! The combo meal came out to about $20 (minus tip) for the burger, fries and drink which isn't too bad for what you get considering you get a whole bunch of fries with your burger. Impossible Burger tasted great. Only potential downside was it took a bit to get my order but honestly not a big deal since it seems like its just a smaller kitchen, just keep in mind if you getting it during work break like I did. I went to Ember Grill yesterday, and it was worth the trepidation I had walking towards Ember Grill. First, the food was great, I had an avocado and bacon burger with fries. Too much shredded lettuce, but overall, I enjoyed my meal...love fresh cut fries. Second, the owner was so gracious and nice, I would have taken a 2-go-box if I had a microwave in my room. Here's where the trepidation comes in. There are a lot of unhoused people in the area, but they seemed harmless, and I didn't feel threatened at all. I am a mature woman, I was alone and it was approaching nightfall. I walked in the street for a bit because I felt like I was walking through someone's living room, which I would have been. Double cheeseburger tasted good but expected a bit more for the high rating. If you're looking for standard fast food it's a good option. Comparing quality of ingredients (including bun, type of oil...) it's below Super Duper, Gott's, Roam and even In N Out. The Strawberry Shake tasted ok, but tasted like artificial flavoring and lacked the real milk flavor you get at those other places that use higher quality milk (Strauss...). Fries were fine, just ok, maybe it was also the type of oil they use (flavor). Got delivery which might have affected how the food tasted vs eating it right when made. Chicken sandwich was 2 tenders on some buns. One was really tough to eat, the other was okay. Not much flavor to them, they were just okay, outside of one being really hard to bite into. Fries also were underwhelming. No flavor or integrity despite being eaten right away. Sauce also is a middle of the road chicken sauce, nothing to write home about. Maybe the burgers are where it's at, but for the price of the chicken sandwich and fries ($20 for just those 2!!) it was a miss. Food also took a long time to be ready.
