Such an amazing addition to downtown Olympia. You'll enjoy a truly PNW experience at Ember Goods. Y'allllll. Excuse the language but holy shit. This is it. This is peak PNW. I was in the Olympia area visiting some close friends of mine and we were in the area for the farmer's market and berry festival. One of my friends kept raving about the coooolest coffee shop and just had to show me. He was right. Coolest coffee shop / store ever. You walk in and you automatically feel so lame if you're not ready for the most intense Instagram photoshoot of your life. There's so many photo ops here it's intimidating. There's so many cool PNW products to buy here. My fiancé actually ended up buying the coolest Rainier hoodie from here and we just came for coffee. If you're coming here for coffee and not to be mesmerized by how amazing this place is, you're still going to walk away super happy. I went with an iced Lavender Vanilla Latte. I'm a huge lavender fan, smell AND taste, and when I saw it was a syrup that they make in-house, I had to try it. Perfection. The lavender hits you at the beginning and the taste is finished with that smooth vanilla we all love. Honestly, it's something I could drink everyday. Probably the best rendition of a lavender flavored drink I've had anywhere. Kudos, Ember Goods! You're awesome. read more

Visiting for the week and walked by. Cool concept for a coffee shop, the space was clean and had a nice ambience. We got the oat milk latte and autumn latte. The autumn latte was so delicious, creamy and had a warm cozy feeling when drinking it. I liked that it was caffeine free too. I came back 3 times while here to get this drink, I've never seen it anywhere else! read more

My all time favorite coffee place. You can never go wrong with anything off the menu. Their seasonal drinks are always killer. I love that they have PNW clothing + stickers + pins. I absolutely love ember goods! I don't live near Olympia, so anytime I'm even remotely close to the area, I make sure to stop in. The shop is clean, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the beverages are wonderful. The last time I went in there were a couple of seasonal options that I couldn't pick between, and the two baristas were absolute delights and were patient with my slow-decision-making self. A difficult feat, just ask my partner. On top of all this, the owners are extremely kind and it makes supporting local feel THAT much more sweet. Cheers to many more coffees here in the future! :) read more

Such a cute, trendy spot downtown! I came in for an afternoon coffee but they also have clothing and nicknacks to check out while you wait for your drinks. My coworker and I walked from up the street where we were working and went with the orange mocha and turmeric mylk (dirty). Such unique flavor to the mocha and the turmeric mylk were on point. We also got the toffee chocolate chip cookie which didn't disappoint for an afternoon pick me up. This place is definitely on the pricer side as we ended up spending around $18 for 2 drinks and a cookie but you could tell they put love and real ingredients in their products. Would definitely recommend this place!!! read more

Drove from Seattle a few weeks ago just to see this place! We've been following the owners for some time now because of their art. We were NOT disappointed. The coffee shop has an incredible atmosphere, very welcoming and warm. The coffee is delicious and they provide multiple options for milks. The cafe itself is decorated with the owners art as well as art from many local artists. Along with coffee they also sell many locally made items. This is the kind of coffee shop you comes to the PNW to see. Forever wishing this place was a little closer but for now trips to Olympia will have to do! read more

But I had to knock the review down a star because the interaction I had with the barista wasn't nice. I asked her what teas would be good but she got pretty impatient with me really quickly. Much better now that Covid has settle and is just a lousy part of our lives. The staff on this visit was very nice and interactive. The quality and effort put into the coffee is really good and shows expertise. The store is full of cute items that made my wife swoon and provides a nice and clean stop in a rather rough part of town. Now we will stop there every time. read more

Walked in on a Wednesday afternoon. No one was in the cafe except myself & the barista. Wasn't really enthusiastic or welcoming. Kinda awkward. Hard to see menu. Had to look up & to the right AFTER I ordered my oat milk latte. Glad they offer alternative milks even though I had to ask. Store was somewhat neat and clean. All Pacific Northwest gear if you're into that. Latte was pretty good. Hard to become a coffee shop around here because there are 5+ shops who compete against each other. Thank goodness for PNW baristas! I asked for steamed soy milk for my 16oz Montana Gold tea; Simple enough right? Well, you would be surprised as to how many times my soy is flat and oftentimes burnt (I live in Nevada). My tea was ridiculously delicious. The tea bags are weighed out and prepared upon ordering. I've always enjoyed those little details when it comes to tea. The soy milk was steamed to creamy perfection. Seriously, so good. This was my first time at Ember Goods. This coffee shop/ retail store features a variety of PNW themed items and is located in the heart of Downtown Olympia. I can't believe how tasty the Montana Gold tea was. Such a cute shop. They have a lot of PNW centric shirts and other items, like pennants, etc. A lot of cute and fashionable clothes as well. It is a little on the pricier end. What I love most about this shop is the little cafe inside. One of the specialty drinks right now is the peppermint mocha...which I think is called the Candy Cane Mocha, and I've gotten it every time I've stopped by. They also have little pastries if you're hungry. I got the chèvre and onion croissant. That was good! Also it's local! So that's always a big plus. read more

Tried the Americano when driving through Olympia. Very cute store, although it's a bit odd, as it seems like more of a very hipster camping store that also sells coffee. No issues with this set-up, but the set-up didn't allow for too much seating. As for Americano, it was good! Not amazing, but enjoyable none the less. read more

What a snazzy place! At the recommendation of my friend we came here after brunch and got the best tea latte of my life! The special was the foggy Montana gold tea latte, which was spicy, sweet, with this orangey zest that knocked my socks off. I'm not the biggest coffee drinker (though the pumpkin pie latte smelled otherworldly) but I'd certainly come here just for that tea latte! The merch in the shop was fun to peruse while we waited. Poor Customer Service. I have been looking to purchase a Nick Terrell Twin Peaks since the beginning of March. I know Ember Goods stocks his products frequently so I contacted them asking if they had any in stock at the beginning of March. I live in Seattle so driving down to Olympia would take 2 hours out of my day which is only possible on weekends. Initially they were great and said no but they'd have more in a few days. I reached out again and they mentioned they were still sold out. I went back and forth with them finally getting a yes they had one in stock last week. I wasn't able to pick it up for a week so I asked if I could pay for it over the phone and have it held. They stated no need to pay ahead, they'd hold it for me until the weekend I was able to come down. So yesterday I called to double check it was still available, no answer, left a voicemail. Today I reached out via Instagram (where I'd initially gone back and forth with them) and they told me 'Sorry no. Nick likes to keep the pieces we have here first come first serve so the best way to get one is through his website shop at nickterrel.com.' I'm thoroughly disappointed that they wouldn't let me pay for it in advance to hold it, and instead stated they would hold it without payment. Then to turn around and tell me to go online and buy it. His orders take 12 weeks to fill. So now I've wasted 3 weeks going back and forth with Ember Goods. I I haven't been in this shop but have no intentions to either after this interaction. Very disappointing. read more

This is a great addition to the downtown shopping scene. It is nice that there are a lot of NW focused gifts as well as cute clothes for men, with some options for women too. The coffee is on point - I tried the bullet, which had the richness of a mocha, but healthy fats, balanced cinnamon flavor, and no sharp sugary overload. They need to post their hours online. We went between 9-10am on a Monday, FYI. read more

I was walking around downtown Olympia and found this cute coffee shop! I ordered the matcha which is a matcha latte with turmeric and agave in it. It had custom latte art on the top which made it hard to drink since I didn't want to ruin it. From the first sip I was in love with my drink! The place doesn't have a lot of space to sit but we got lucky and got a small table where we could talk and have a cost conversation with our drinks. They also sell clothes and outdoor inspired small accessories. I love that it's a local business that has a lot of Pacific Northwest inspired art work. I can't wait to come back and have another warm drink here! read more

I brought Gabriel a designer suit that still didn't feel right after store alterations. He was pretty honest--said the best it could become was a 7/10--and then went to work. He adjusted the shoulders, chest, sleeves, lapels, which required him to move every single button. It was literally a completely different suit. And for the first time, it actually fit the way it should. Since then, I've gone back for five custom suits, multiple shirts, and my favorite, an overcoat (which I'd avoided for years because of off-the-rack fit issues). Every item has come out perfectly tailored. If fit has always been a compromise for you, it's worth seeing what Gabriel can do. Adding some photos, but I'm not a fashion/textiles photographer. It's harder than it looks.

I made an appointment with Gabriel for a consultation to look at the suit and discuss timing and needs for alterations. No real dressing room, just a closet that you can change in. He looked at my suit and made recommendations for the sleeves to be taken in and shortened and pants let out a bit on the waist. I also asked about adding surgeons cuffs with functional buttons. Gabriel mentioned that it's really easy and they do that all the time but they charge per button. Understandable I said and agreed to the pricing. This was Tuesday and was told that the alterations would be complete by Friday. A busy Friday for me meant a pickup on Saturday which would have been perfect as their posted hours on their website says: Saturday 9am-5pm. When I arrived on Saturday to pick up the suit, the lights were out, door locked and a note posted saying "Flexible Hours" this week and to text a number. I texted the number which replied that they would check with Gabriel on timing and they would communicate back to me a time for pickup. No response through Monday evening and by Tuesday at noon, I was getting a little concerned about lack of communication and timing. I decided to call on Tuesday afternoon and Gabriel picked up and told me the suit will be ready by 3pm that day. I arrived at the shop at 3:30pm with the pants ready and the jacket looking disheveled and unfinished with the buttons popped off one of the sleeves and arms way too long. He said he thought I needed the sleeves lengthened and he marked it incorrectly. He said this is an easy and quick job for the jacket and it will be ready tonight. I decided to give him more time to do a good job and said let me pick up tomorrow afternoon. The next afternoon comes and the jacket looked fine but I noticed that the buttons were not functional. He said he didn't take the correct notes and thought I didn't want that even though I was charged extra per button. Again was told that it was an easy job as he does this "all the time" and he would be the one personally making the functioning buttons. Again was told he could do it tonight and I again gave him extra time to do a nice, clean job. The suit was ready with functioning surgeons cuffs but the workmanship was really poor. Also one of the buttons for the interior pocket was missing. The cut and sewing lines were really sloppy looking and the thread for the buttons were not sewing inside the lining, leaving the button thread visible on the cup to lining. I'm not sure if Gabriel just over promises and has to rush through everything but i think he knows better. Overall a stressful situation being almost a week overdue, multiple mistakes and a seemingly rush job to finish. At the initial meeting, Gabriel was also trying to sell me a custom suit which I was seriously considering at the time. Unfortunately this soured my experience and mindset that he would be capable of making a full bespoke suit.
