Her eye for material and color is spot on. She pushed me to go outside my comfort zone which elevated the look and feel of the space. The flow from our entry way into a large living/dining space and our photo wall of memories makes me smile every time I come home. I appreciated her effort to stay within my budget .. finding less expensive but quality pieces in a few places so that I could get my must haves. It truly was a pleasure to work with her.

She transformed the Studio 300 sq ft to have distinct living, dining, sleeping, and working spaces. She tamed the chaos and created a tranquil space employing textures, artwork, storage, and layout. Our daughter and her puppy love their place. We found the perfect BPC 2 bedroom and needing it move in ready in just 4 weeks, she created a livable contemporary design with custom artwork, sourcing new furnishings, which we never would have picked ourselves, but love, and coordinated all painters and any contractors. On move in day, we filled the pantry, hung our clothes and just started living. What a treat to not have had to worry and just enjoy our new place. No matter what your space, Tina can work her design magic and make it stunningly, comfortably yours.

First, the design questionnaire was excellent - especially for someone like me who doesn't know much about interior design. It was able to identify my design preferences by showing different living rooms and asking which ones were to my liking. In addition, its questions served as a great preparation for the home visit, so Stephanie came well prepared for our meeting. Stephanie was very creative, professional, and helpful throughout the process. When she visited my place, we decided on a design together, in an efficient process, where she was able to translate my needs and preferences to interior design decisions and furniture choices. After two weeks, she assembled a furniture shopping list, within the budget I requested. I purchased all items she suggested. The furniture items were sourced from many furniture stores and I felt she did an excellent job finding items that were beautiful, fit the overall design, and reasonably priced. I get nothing but compliments about my place (even from my Architect friend who is quite stingy with design related complements...). Well done Stephanie! As to the cost-effectiveness of the service - had I done this process myself (even with friends help), I would have surely spent more time, more money, getting worse results. Finally, the service was well structured and transparent. Good stuff overall.

Fan-tastic. I kinda…read morefelt weird about hiring a designer for my space, but I'm glad I did. Use What You Have basically helps you rearrange what you have into a better layout, then offers options for further customization on your own. They'll help you move furniture, go through catalogs, look online, and just be really collaborative in the design process. I pretty much hated all of my furniture, so we didn't do too much rearranging (besides for placeholding purposes), but we spent a ton of time going over purchasing options. In the end, we put together a full design plan for each area of the space, with specific pieces to model against or just buy right out. I worked with Tracy, one of their senior designers, but they only charged me the junior designer rate, which was nice. She was great to work with, and even dealt with my large, overly-nosy pit bull like a champ. And she bought me lunch. Price-wise, expect $350 for a standard sized room, $700 for a "double" room. I did almost my entire loft for about $1200 including travel fees to Brooklyn. I was hoping to get lucky and do the whole thing for $350, but they do measure, and they stick to their fee schedule pretty closely. Whatever though, it was well worth it for what I wanted.

Designer Lauri…read moreWard gave me fantastic referrals to upholsterers, cabinet makers, window treatments, lighting, etc. The best part was the quality of the people doing the work as well as their prices. When my husband and I recently moved into a new apartment it was a no brainer to contact Lauri Ward again. Two weeks ago, Lauri came to my apartment and created a plan for each room. Her suggestions were simple, practical and elegant, which was just what we wanted. I am implementing the plan confidently and am so grateful for being able to let go of the stress of redesigning on a limited budget. Being a novice in the world of interior design requires assistance and Lauri Ward's has been invaluable! I unconditionally recommend Lauri's firm for any redecorating project. The clearly written costs stated upfront will ease any concern about getting in over your head. Decorating mistakes can be costly, so it's worth consulting an expert upfront. Good luck on your project!

After spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on beds, credenza, chairs, pillows, throws, gifts and more, you can't even replace a defective picture frame that doesn't stand up??? Goodbye, Jonathan. Just moved to a new condo in Weho and need to furnish it and make it glamorous. So many great furniture stores in the area to choose from, you really should treat a JA Insider better and not cause me to shop elsewhere.

After paying thousands of dollars for the piece, the experience started off poorly when the delivery was incredibly unprofessional - as it was outsourced and not "white glove" and the delivery person got injured trying to lift the piece. I had to give him ice and we had to get another company to our home to finish delivery. Then, I did not even use the piece because the quality was so poor. The drawers are thin and flimsy and I did not think it could hold dishes or silverware (I even had a discussion with a Jonathan Adler employee who confirmed the drawers held papers, etc.). Also, the piece is so heavy, it cannot be moved from the spot it was delivered. The empty, new, pristine piece was sitting in my hallway unused as I was figuring out how to use the piece without damaging it. A few months after delivery, my husband was walking down the hallway and his body (short, slight build) lightly brushed the brass knob for the top left hand drawer. It should be noted the large brass drawer knobs are installed via a cut through the glass and they are screwed in and protrude at least 3/4 of an inch and are intended to be pulled to open the drawer. Unbelievably, the mere touch of the knob from its side was enough to shatter the glass all around the knob (it must have been installed on a Kant or screwed in too tightly - or perhaps this was just a design defect - glass drawers should pull from the underside and not have drilled holes in them). I considered how to fix this. The glass is painted, so the glass cannot be replaced. In any event, I called Jonathan Adler. No one was willing to help me, despite many calls. I was hopeful they would stand behind the product and replace it. The answer was a firm no and they offered no solution but to use the credenza with shattered glass. Not helpful. When my husband was in NYC, he visited another Jonathan Adler store (he purchased the credenza by calling Jonathan Adler). The Aquamarine Credenza in the window of the closed Upper East Side store that we noticed originally was itself scratched and cracked and being damaged out since the store had closed. My husband asked that Jonathan Adler please consider exchange our new, cracked drawer with the used, old drawer from the damaged credenza. No one was willing to accommodate this request. Finally, after many long phone calls and complaints, we escalated the matter and Sydney ( the only helpful employee at Jonathan Adler who definitely went out of her way many times to help us and who should be recognized for her wonderful customer care) came back to us and offered that we pay a certain sum for the old drawer of the broken credenza that was being "damaged out." My husband felt so bad for accidentally "touching" and breaking the credenza, that he agreed to this arrangement. Sydney delivered the old drawer to a friend's apartment in NYC for us and we appreciate her help However, I remain upset as I assume the old drawer will be faded, perhaps chipped, and not match the other pieces exactly any way - and we will have no recourse yet again. Except for Sydney, who should be promoted and praised, I found the customer service experience at Jonathan Adler to be substandard for a company of this repute, and I want everyone to know that the company definitely does not stand behind its products. If a glass credenza has holes drilled in the glass for the knobs, there should be some protective mechanism to ensure that using or touching the knob (even from the side) will not shatter the surrounding glass. It should be noted that we are incredibly meticulous and careful individuals who take pride in our possessions. To say the least, I will never recommend Jonathan Adler to any of my friends. The furniture looks nice and the colors are great, but the quality is very cheap and the customer service is horrible. I am extremely disappointed.
