Used professional grain semi-solid stains and the finished product reflects this. Warranty +1. Have assured us that if we find something out of place, they will come back. Background: Having recently purchased a new cedar fence, as part of a pet adoption build-out, we reached out to many exterior painters. Having spoken with a handful of exterior painters, willing to provide a loose quote, Fridenmaker was the most available and affordable. On the initial visit, they reviewed the site, asked a few questions, and gave us an estimate within around 15 minutes. Delivered in a professional stock folder and presented on professional stock paper, the bid included tax and a deposit. From there, we were given staining options, including advice on which stains would make sense. Finally, they took the time to explain the expectations regarding longevity of the workmanship. After mutually agreeing, we set a date, which was the following week. The next week, we received an email and a text notice of a pending arrival. Because of a technical issue, the intended date was off by one day, but the associate apologized for the mistake and assured us they would be out the following day. The next day they arrived around early, with materials in hand, and proceeded to work. Approximately a few hours in, I was asked to review the initial work, and was also explained the process regarding how the different textured wood would be treated. They completed their initial day by 5 pm. Following this, they informed me they would be delayed because of an employee emergency but would still arrive late and continue the work as promised. Nearly two days into the job, they let me review the gates and the nearly complete fence, making sure the work was what I had in mind. The final day, they arrived, assuring us they would complete the work on the fence and would be done in less than a few hours. Finally, approximately 3 hours later, they asked us to perform a walkthrough and afterward we wrote them a check for the work. Overall, we are satisfied with the work they performed. However, with the upcoming forecast for rain and winds, along with another temperate snowfall, time will tell if the workmanship will hold up. As always, your experience may vary.

The paint was peeling. Our plumber came by and recommended Mike to us...and I'm so glad he did! Mike came over to check out the damage and gave us a quote that was reasonable to include labor and supplies. Mike showed up 2 days after the date of the estimation (provided that this is not a high season for house painting). Mike did a fantastic job with the ceiling. You can hardly tell that there was a damage there before. He even touched up on the surrounding area to blend the color in with the rest of the ceiling. While waiting for the paint to dry, Mike also took to repair one of our wood trims that was damaged that I had mentioned when he came over to do the estimation of the ceiling. I came home to a pleasant surprise as that is now also fixed! Everything was done professionally, and even though it took a little longer than he had estimated (and fixing the trim), he stood by his estimate. We'll definitely be saving your number. Mike. We got a lot more projects for you!

Back in May 2016, I decided to use Paulson Painting to paint my formal dining room/living room, and…read morea very tall stairwell. For the interior work, I supplied the paint, for I was playing around with different shades, trying to match my couch, and also the faint colors on the wallpaper in the dining room. I was in awe watching Matt use a roller that extended further than I had ever seen before. The line between the accent wall and the wall paper was very straight, as was the ceiling lines, for I had a different paint on the ceiling than on the walls. I used Sherwin Williams Duration paint on the walls, for I was told this was a very good paint that would last for years. They did 2 coats, and waited to do the 2nd coat. A couple of areas one of the painters did where my husband tried to patch up due to settling didn't come out as I expected. After Kevin returned from vacation, he did come out to correct these areas. Since Matt and Andrew did such a good job, I hired this company again for my exterior work in September. (The exterior of my house was painted just 5 years ago, but all the trim was peeling, and I had several boards that were rotted. The company I used back then was out of business.) In September I told Kevin I wanted a job that would last 15 years, for I don't like dealing with the paint selection, nor the cost. My roof is a bit tricky, and I asked Kevin to meet me ahead of time with my current roofer, so the company felt comfortable on the metal roof, without denting it, for they needed to be on the roof to paint the set back 2nd floor. (They used boards that had some time of rubber backing, and thus stood on these boards painting the 2nd story in the front.) We knew 1 fascia board up very high had to be replaced. Once the house painting was underway, more boards were found to be rotted, so these were replaced as well, then primed before painting. Kevin also suggested I have my roofer investigate why the high up fascia board rotted in the first place. Great advice, Kevin. (As it turned out, my flashing around my chimney wasn't done correctly back in 2002.) Kevin also suggested I should have my exposed fascia boards covered with flashing now that all the boards are freshly painted, which I am working with my roofer on.) The exterior of the house took 4 days, with crews from 2 to 5 young men. Again, I requested 2 coats of Sherwin Williams Duration, and Paulson Painting supplied the paint this time. The first coat was sprayed on, then back rolled, and the 2nd coat sprayed. Trim was hand painted, again 2 coats. They covered my plants and picked up after themselves each day. Kevin dropped by 2 times during the 4 days to check on his teams' progress and quality. I thought I might have scratches on my deck from their ladder, but I didn't. They were very careful to not get paint where it shouldn't be. The only thing that could improve was the responsiveness of the office staff (Kevin's wife), who handles the payments, scheduling and inquiries. She is a very nice lady, but hard to get ahold of at times. The real test will be in 2026 and beyond. I hope the paint still looks great then.

Long story: Years ago we had a bad experience with a paint job by a different painter. We didn't pay a lot, and we got what we paid for. The painters were rude, they left paint chips in our yard and flower beds, they took forever to finish the job, and the paint started to peel not long after - evidence of poor prep. This time around we decided we wanted a quality paint job, and were willing to pay for it. We solicited local painter recommendations from several friends we trust, that we know have high standards. I went through the process of getting bids from two different painters. Both were very polite and walked through similar questions about what we were looking for. I had confidence either painter would do a quality job. I chose Strong Painting because their bid came in $6K less than the other painter's bid. I worked with Peter to make sure the written agreement clearly laid out my expectations, so there would be no confusion later. He was happy to do so. We scheduled the job months in advance. When the time came, they actually started a day earlier than planned, which was great. Peter and his crew was polite to my family, which I also appreciated. We were out of town during most of the paint job but Peter kept in touch on key decisions that came up, and provided me with the information I needed to make a decision even though I was remote. When they were done and my wife and I did our final walkaround we found nothing that still needed to be done. Amazing! I was happy to pay the final bill. There are only two small areas where I'd give Strong Painting critical feedback. 1) We had a small plant next to our house that his crew removed and presumably dumped into yard waste rather than tying back and painting around. My wife was annoyed by this. In truth, I thought the plant was dead, so it was understandable to me why they thought so too. 2) They left their old painting van in front of our house day and night throughout the job. This was fine, especially since we were out of town, but they also left it there a few days after the job was complete. I would have rather they moved it when they were done since my wife and I park there. Both very minor issues. In total, a very positive experience. I'll be using Strong Painting next time we paint the house or do other relevant jobs.

I had a quick turn interior painting job to get done before moving into a new home, and Matt was able to work with me to squeeze it into their calendar. Matt came over to provide an initial assessment, and took the time to walk through every room and closet and provide a really detailed estimate on time needed. I had a paint selected that he thought might show up too dark, and recommended I go at a 50% lighter tint. I followed his advice and am so glad I did - the place looks amazing and feels light and spacious. Jason helped to paint the space, and he was in constant phone/text communication to provide status updates, and ask me questions on how I wanted certain things done. I'd also had the carpet pulled up in the bedrooms and the floors underneath redone, which left the trim in bad shape. Jason was able to replace and paint the trim as well, which I appreciated greatly. Now that I'm in my home, I'm catching all of these crazy details they didn't miss, like removing all of the light switch/outlet plates and painting behind them, and pulling out the stove and fridge to paint behind the appliances.
