Selling coffee beans and tea pot, coffee cups and etc.
Kit Yee Y.

A great coffee shop away from the crowd and main streets in Vancouver. It is more comfortable drinking coffee here. The interior design is minimalist and the cafe is very spacious having an empty area that is separating the counter and cashier with the tables and chairs. Customers can sit and enjoy their coffee and chat with their friends or study or do their work without interruption. We ordered a regular latte and one with soy milk. Both tasted really good. I had tried latte at different Elysian cafe in Vancouver. None of them disappointed me including this one. Thumbs up! I really liked this cafe. People who live and work in this neighbourhood should feel grateful to have a good coffee shop around. :)

Nitro cold brew on tap and cranberry amaretti.

I really enjoyed their nitro cold brew coffee on tap. It had a nice foam on top and went down cold and creamy. Paired with a cranberry amaretti, it was very tasty. Since they have large windows and plenty of seating, the vibe was leisurely.

Great selection of beverages and nice hot food items. Much, much higher quality than a starbucks, but prices are similar. Definitely recommend supporting a small business that bakes everything in-house rather than a "cafe" chain like starbucks

* Third time is the charm * My favourite spot for espresso in Vancouver, the Elysian Room (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/the-elysian-room-vancouver-2?hrid=BiqAg9gpHCkpvlIdU0yAjA) has opened up a third location as of this week. I have to admit the 2nd location which opened on Broadway never really nailed it for me, as the original location was more consistent in its espresso pulls for me. So I was curious how this new third location would do. Based upon the espresso today it is up to the standards of the original location - hooray! Now I don't know if that is because they just opened and they are focusing on quality/consistency carefully or if it will be a regular thing at this location. I sure hope it is a regular thing - it would be nice to have a 2nd consistent espresso location from them! Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/elysian-coffee-3-vancouver?select=1xQ8qVeAdqxNLAyKtGwjLw#1xQ8qVeAdqxNLAyKtGwjLw This new space has an on-site roastery and an onsite bakery. I guess they will be supplying their other two locations from here? It is a very large space compared to their other locations, and currently just has a few seats around the windows. I imagine more seating will be coming soon. I'm happy with what they've done here so far, and hope it continues!

Nitro tap cold brew coffee

I have always wanted to come to this place and today I decided was the day! As usual, the parking around here is hard to find but there are lots of free ones so just be patient. I ordered their nitro tap cold brew coffee, and to be honest, it tasted different than other cold brews I have had. It is not as strong as I liked from a cold brew and also not as rich as I liked. However!! This cold brew is the creamiest one I have ever had, so creamy I thought it was cream on top, but really it was the micro foam that was formed from dispensing from the tap, nitro tap. This is a very interesting and an awesome characterstic with this brew method. The interior was simple and uncluttered, I love the window seats, people watching and coffee = the most awesome useless pastime :) The general crowd is pretty typical but a great mix for this area in my opinion. They talk about politics, art, and social media, all with super high passion :D The Scottish shortbread I also ordered was very very tasty!

Great coffee and super cool decor... A little stand offish vibe however it's perfect if you just wanna sit and read all by yourself. The staff is friendly... Unfortunately no organic milk :-(

This is third location. Space: A very open and clean space. Seating is limited to counter seats next to the windows. Wifi is not provided. They also house a roasting and tasting room. Coffee: Just like the original location, the coffee doesn't disappoint. Excellent drinks using single origin beans. Food: They offer some like snacks - cookies, scones, croissants, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. Location/Parking: It's right at the corner of 7th and Ontario Street. 1-hour on-street parking is provided right next to the store.

Elysian's newly opened third location is already quietly buzzing in its new Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. I enjoy simple pleasures like Elysian's hot chocolate cookie and a cup of Americano. The sweet and salty treat compliments the robust yet lightly smooth espresso beverage just so as it lifts my afternoon mood. Elysian takes over the one-story corner shop from CocoaNymph and brings the same sleek, clean, and timber look of its other locations with a more open feel to it. It's an off the track location surrounded by light industrial and commercial outlets yet still quite central, being around the corner from 33 Acres on one side and Hootsuite HQ on the other on 8th Avenue. It's just slightly away from the hub of cafes and shops a few blocks down on Main Street. More spacious and roomy, the new Elysian also has a more stark, minimalist feel but brings the same basic, serious aesthetic. Coffee aside, it's also hard to beat the ceiling to floor windows bringing in so much natural light while gazing into the streets on the corner of 7th Avenue and Ontario Street.

Great coffee and cool environment. No plug ins or wifi so not a great coffee shop to work in for long periods of time.

I think it was one of those Cherry Blossom Food Festivals that brought this place to my attention…read moreabout a year or two ago. Been wanting to try it for awhile and now I finally have. We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
