I found out about this place because a friend came here for her wedding adjustments and I tagged along. Years later I hired her for my own. Margarita was very thorough and explained all of my options to me very well. She's a master at her craft

Zina was the wonderful woman I worked with I HIGHLY 5 stars recommend her. She was extremely professional and welcoming from the very first quote, until the last meeting we had for my final fitting. I trusted her with my wedding dress 100%, not only is she really knowledgeable, she is willing to work with your budget and vision for what you want your dress to feel like/look like. I can also share that I was needing the dress done in less than a month- due to a trip that I was making for the wedding. Because of her flexible schedule and current valences work load, I was able to get my dress ahead of time and not feel rushed. This was my first time working with an alteration shop, it was a magnificent experience, and I would definitely stop by there specifically with her if I need anything else altered. The location of the spot is right near Green Lake, it's hidden upstairs in a building unit, what you can do is park in the PCC Grocery store lot, go in there and buy something cheap like a banana, and get your parking validated so that you can save on street parking prices and finding street parking.

I came here to get my wedding dress altered and Margot did an amazing job and was so informative and educational in the process. From start to finish, it took about 2 months for my dress to be finished (that included time when I was out of town so I couldn't come in for a try-on). Margot was very clear that she would not perform any alterations that I do not 100% agree and sign off on. She also gives her best opinion and is not afraid to speak up and show me why she doesn't think something is a good idea or not. Margot shortened the straps of my dress, reduced the cups by 2 sizes, tightened up the bust area (had to undo the applique and then put it back in), shortened the torso to reduce bunching of the fabric in the waist area, and took out the top lace layer just a tad in the hip area (was slightly too tight). We didn't do anything to the hem; instead I just increased my shoe height by 1-2 inches (she said it would be such a waste to charge me for hemming when I could fix that issue by wearing taller shoes. She's honest). Lastly, Margot added a GORGEOUS French bustle to my dress which looked amazing. Any seamstress can sew a bustle for you, but a truly spectacular seamstress will know which bustle is the best for your dress and Margot went above and beyond. The best part of all of these alterations is that Margot did these in such a way that everything could be taken back out to the original size if needed. Highly recommend to everyone wanting to look their best for their special event.

The gals at Eltsa are experts at their craft. My dress was 2 sizes too big and heavily beaded and had 3D florals. It was not an easy dress to work with. They were incredible though, they made my sleeves detachable which was so clutch for dancing during the reception. They are also very kind and no nonsense. I felt very comfortable and in good hands. Highly recommend!

Eltsa is my fairy godmother. I searched endlessly for a wedding gown and ended up purchasing a designer gown that was no longer available in stores. I chose a vintage style satin gown cut on a bias. It was baggy in the waist and bust, and I needed it to be shortened in length and bustled. I first took the gown to Freestyle Custom Alterations based on excellent Yelp reviews. They informed me that because my dress was made from such a delicate fabric, and because it was cut on a bias, it was impossible to alter. The warned me that other alterations shops might tell me they could alter it, but that they would surely completely ruin the gown if I let them try. My gown was one of my bigger wedding purchase splurges, and it wasn't returnable. I left in tears. THANK GOODNESS I didn't listen to Freestyle Custom Alterations and decided to take my gown to Eltsa Custom Sewing instead. It was true that my gown was incredibly difficult to alter, but Eltsa painstakingly made small change by small change. I believe I had eight fittings in all, and the end result was nothing short of magic; you'd never have know it wasn't made specifically for my body. Eltsa even used one of my bras, cut it up, and sewed it inside the dress. I was not even able to wear seamless underwear without the seam showing, my dress was so delicate - and yet somehow, Eltsa managed to make my bra completely undetectable through the fabric. If you have have a garment that "can't" be altered - please go to Eltsa. You won't regret it!

They did a fantastic job tailoring my pure silk wedding dress, including some creativity in taking out the length and making really cute sleeves! Very good communication, pricing, and super nice to work with. I would recommend them to anyone for custom tailoring. Thank you!

Eltsa Custom Sewing did a great job with my elopement dress! I know the silk material was very tricky to work with but they were so patient and thorough in getting it just right! We ended up taking it in on the sides and tacking down the straps. I couldn't be happier with the end result!

Eltsa's did an AMAZING job tailoring my wedding gown! It was a very detailed dress with lots of lace and beading and they way they took it in and made it fitted looked like I got it custom ordered from the designer. They also did a great job with the bustle it turned out beautifully. I'm so happy with their work!

Got shoulders taken in/adjusted and length hemming. Around $70 for both!

I've gotten two bridesmaid dresses altered here. The staff at Eltsa do an amazing job and at a very reasonable price. Both times I felt really consulted and confident that they would do a great job. They see you by appointment but have been really flexible when I've been around the area and wanted to pick up / do a fitting at a different time. There is a discount for paying in cash also! I will be back for any fittings in the future! I got a bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal dress (burgundy/wine colored) and the bridal party was advised to get it altered at David's for simplicity. After a terrible experience and getting the dress back way too short a month before the wedding, I took the newly ordered dress straight to Eltsa knowing that they would do a good job. I'm so glad I did and avoided another David's mishap.

So glad to have been able to drive locally to have my hand-size measured!!! She did such a good job. Exquisite measuring services... NG

Awesome measuring help! My hands needed to be fitted for a glove (to accompany a gown). Naomi

    Wedding day

I cannot say enough good things about Eltsa custom sewing! I had my dress custom designed by Anomalie in CA last summers. My wedding was taking place back on the east coast. While the company does custom gowns, all designs still need a dedicated tailor for alterations. My rep at Anomalie highly recommended Margot's shop, as she started out in creating custom gowns and is specifically experienced in wedding alterations. Because my wedding was happening across the country, I had a quicker turnaround than most. Margot and her lovely team, fit me in multiple times, in order to ensure that the length and fitting was accurate. She was sweet, easy to work with, and very kind. I always felt more beautiful leaving her studio. She's been doing this a long time and definitely seems to be invested, not only in your alterations, but also making you feel 100% about the day and dress you have been dreaming about. Thank you so much Margot and team!! I'll definitely be coming back for any alteration needs w

Of all the bridal shops I had been to, I enjoyed the selection at Anthropologie the most. I got to try a variety of styles (beaded, lace, sparkles, simple, a-line, fitted, ballgown, etc.) and narrow down what I like, but I really did like a majority of the dresses I tried on here as opposed to the recommendations or selections I saw at other bridal shops. All of the dresses I tried here I rated 7-9/10 for my personal rating and they all fell within my budget (less than 2k). 2. I loved that I could see their inventory online and indicate ahead of time in the booking form which dresses I wanted to try. These dresses were already on my rack and prepared for me when I arrived. Other shops I had been to gave me time to peruse and look around at the beginning which was nice but it definitely ate into the appointment time. 3. The appointment was free and was 90 minutes long. Sometimes, I felt an hour was too short at other places but here I was able to try on all my pre-selected gowns, peruse the racks more, and try on an extra 4-5 gowns I either missed on the website or were new so weren't listed on the website yet. 4. I enjoyed my stylist's help so much. Elle was very helpful in getting the dresses on and off, clipping the sample down, taking pictures for me as I did not have anyone else with me at my appointment, and suggesting alteration points to make the dresses as close to what I wanted as possible. She was very professional and kind. 5. The availability of the dresses was also a big plus. It sounds like, as long as your size is in stock, it is as simple as ordering online and you can have it arrive within a couple of weeks. They mentioned some styles may be back ordered by a month or so but it's nice to hear that I won't have to wait the 6-8 month timeline for ordering a custom dress through a designer. The only downside I would say is parking. Because this is in the heart of downtown, parking will be difficult. I had a friend drop me off and pick me up for my appointment. Overall, really loved my experience here and would highly recommend stopping by if you like what you see on their website.

COVID review: I was…read moreable to come here by making an appointment weeks in advanced. I was only allowed to bring one guest with me as the BHLDN area is a small section of the Anthropologie store. I did bring one more guest but they had to stay in the Anthropologie section as a "shopper". It was still very easy for my second guest to be part of the experience as I had to walk across the store to the regular dressing rooms to try on my dress, since there was another bride trying on dresses in the actual bridal area. The person that helped me was Sophie and she was super helpful. This was my first place I went shopping for wedding dresses and she provided ample information on each dress I tried on. Since the workers cannot come into the dressing room with you, I had my mom help put the clips on my dress and Sophie was able to provide verbal directions that were helpful. Masks were worn by everyone the entire bridal appointment, but I felt that I was still able to envision the dress and I did try on a veil. For my second appointment I made here, I was able to re-try on the dress with a veil to figure out if I truly liked the dress. During this appointment, I went by myself and Sophie was still able to help me. When I needed help with clipping my dress and placing a veil on, she had a glass fixture on wheels that was used to create space between us. There is a hole in the glass where Sophie put her hands through with gloves to apply clips on my dress and a veil. Overall, I had a great experience at BHLDN and was able to find THE dress here. Their prices are super affordable for wedding dresses and felt of great quality. When you place an order with them, they waive shipping fees also. I'd recommend coming here for wedding dress shopping.

Growing up in Seattle, Luly Yang was the first place we went to try on dresses. I was a bit nervous as I usually have a hard time finding dresses that fit perfectly and my mom is super judgmental. We had a few other appointments already set for the week, so I wanted to wait to see those appointments through before deciding and they were so understanding. (We had other studios who really tried to pressure us to purchase day of-even offering discounts). Another plus was there was no fitting fee to try on the dresses - unlike all the other studios we went to. We did end up coming back and getting my dress at Luly Yang. They were amazing through the whole process and they work with you through each step. I loved being able to design my dress and pick out the materials.
