Believe the hype - this place is worth all five stars! I brought my engagement ring in for repair after I seriously bent the crap out of the setting by getting it caught on the corner of my dresser handle (don't ask). To make matters worse, the snag happened with such force that I lost one of the tiny diamonds near the top of the band. I called Elson's at 2:40 to see if I could drop it off, showed up at 3:00, and picked up the repaired ring at 4:00. AMAZING. They did a fantastic job and the price was super reasonable. Lost one of my diamonds in my engagement ring over the weekend and gladly came across this 5 star shop on yelp. Called in for a quote the next business day & got all my questions answered by a gentlemen who was very helpful and patient. Finding out the shop was only right across from my job, I was planning on going on my break to get my ring repaired as I was quoted a same day turn around time but was not able to break away from work. The following day, I called to check if the turn around time would be the same (just in case they had more work/ orders in line) this time spoke to a lady who was also very nice and was given the same turn around time. Came in after work (45 minutes before they closed) the gentlemen who I spoke to ended up taking care of my ring as soon as we walked in, gave me a quote, made sure they had the materials and done! With having the prongs checked, tightened and cleaned we waited no more than 15 minutes! With the quick and friendly service I will come to Elson's Goldsmith for my cleanings & repairs from now on. LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! Elson's Goldsmith is the place to go for all your jewelry needs. At first, I was looking for a jeweler to clean my ring. Sad to say, but I haven't gotten it cleaned since my fiancé proposed...oh 2 years ago! I know, I am horrible to even neglect my engagement ring but being a stay-at-home mom, it's quite difficult to even find the time to go out. Anyways, I bust out my handy-dandy IPhone to look on Yelp. Elson's was the only company that had 5 star reviews. I gave them a call and they told me the price for cleaning. I was expecting it to be close to $100, but it was way below that price. A few months had passed and not having it cleaned, one of the worst things that could happen to a ring did happen. I LOST one of my mini diamonds on my band. Frustrated as I was, my fiancé was smart enough to have insurance on my ring. Hallelujah! Got in contact with my insurance company, made a claim, and now I just needed to go see Elson's. TODAY, I called them as soon as they were open and went to see them. As everyone said, they are located above Times Supermarket in Aiea, far right side on the second floor. There is a door bell prior to entering. As soon as I walked in, the lady knew who I was and promptly gave my ring to one of the gentlemen (I believe he was the owner of the shop) and worked on it right away. My first impression: it is a very small shop. It's a "mom and pop" shop, which is what I really like about it. My family along with a couple and a lady with her child were in there. It got a little cramped but I didn't mind. What was awesome about this place is that you can actually WATCH the employees work on your ring! IT WAS AWESOME! I hear horror stories about high end jewelry shops switching the diamond off people's ring. Umm...no thank you! We waited probably 20-25 mins. tops and my ring was done. It looked brand-spankin'-new! After having a baby and now being pregnant again, I've been wanting to resize my rings to a larger size for a while, but I wasn't sure where to go. I'm so happy I found Elson's Goldsmith on Yelp. I went there around noon on a weekday and spoke to the nice lady at the counter. I asked if they cut and add metal or if they stretch the metal when they resize and she said they cut and add. Good. I was worried about having it stretched because I didn't want to weaken the integrity of the band. I had two rings to resize, my engagement and wedding band, and she said it would take 45 minutes to finish, which was great. So I headed down stairs to Times (they're located above Times in the far right corner), and had some lunch. I then came back and in exactly 45 minutes they were done. My rings were so sparkly and fit perfectly. You also can't tell where the bands were cut. The price was also very reasonable. I spent $108 for two rings; each went up about 3 sizes. Hopefully when I lose the weight, I'll be back to resize them down again :). read more

I'm not sure who Elson is, but Calin is the bomb.com! I started searching for another goldsmith when my regular guy was taking weeks to get back to me with a quote on some earring mounts. I went into Elson's and Calin was able to give me estimates on the spot for different grades of gold as well as labor costs if I provided my own mounts. When I came back to drop off my jewelry to have the work done, Calin offered to do the work while I waited. In the time it took me to walk downstairs to Times and have a plate lunch, he was done! My father passed away and I needed to resize his men's birthstone ring for his grand daughter who was very close to him & born the same month (her birthday was coming up in a few days). I called ahead of time & asked if they were available that day & how long it would take to resize a ring; they could take me & would have it done within the day! Drove down & Janell assisted me right away, I asked if I could wait & she said I could. While waiting she talked to me about stones, jewelry,...very friendly! They repair jewelry right in the front (behind a glass so you can watch). They resized the ring & polished it up in about 30 minutes. I am so happy with their work, it looks wonderful! The reason being that the halo stones each needed to be reset because I was downsizing.
