Really good drinks and the wings are delicious. I like their bbq and Carolina gold sauces. Their ranch is really good too. Only downfall is service is always slow. read more

Food was great. The atmosphere was fun, sports bar vibe. The stand out was the service. Our server Delany was super friendly and quick with refills and checking in regularly to make sure everything was as we wanted it. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Went here today for lunch. Just got beer and spicy cheese dip. The cheese was good but I wish it was more spicy. I love really spicy cheese! The bartender was nice. Me and a friend sat at the bar. It's a pretty big bar. read more

Lots of parking and lots of seating! The server was very attentive and very friendly! They had the chips and salsa at our table in a minute and were there with our drinks very quickly. I had the enchilada plate and the enchiladas were delicious. This is one of my wife's favorite places. read more

Ryan, the patio bartender. All night, this guy kicked ass, was truly exceptional...until I asked him if he could turn off the ceiling fans. It was 64 degrees out there and very breezy, still drizzly a day after the remnants of Hurricane Helene passed thru and knocked out our electricity. I was on the patio because they had a specific game on above the bar and there was no available indoor seating when I arrived. Suddenly, he gets an attitude and makes a snide comment about the existence of indoor dining. It went downhill from there To his credit, the manager was in front of me in two seconds. I explained my displeasure, then left. ....and as I was leaving Ryan continued his attitude with my companion. It was weird. read more

Bad Juans and wet burrittos. OMG good. Actually...never had anything here I didn't enjoy. It's clean and I've always had great service. And tables have lots of space between them. Be careful of the Bad Juans. They do slip up on you. Two and I'm a gonner. Doesn't break the bank to eat here either. read more

Protip: Don't go to Elsa's for Mexican food. Go for wings badjuans and pizza. I highly recommend plan island sauce, on anything (wings, pizza, quesadillas), 5 cheese pizza, or kids menu pigs in a blankets for bad Juan's I love a peach sangria mixed with raspberry! read more

Our food was excellent! The Bad Juans are flowing and there is great social distancing! I wouldn't like to be on one of the aisles, with a lot of foot traffic but I think that is happening everywhere right now as we all adjust. Our experience tonight was a great one!! read more

OMG! If you're undecided on what to eat come here. They have everything but seafood. Burgers, wings, pizza, Mexican, salads, etc. Amazing atmosphere with ample TVs. Great friendly service. I had no clue it existed so it's tucked where if you drive by you won't see it. Guacamole bites are amazing! read more

Elsas Corner - Guacamole bites and shredded beef chimichanga verde style. I passed on the 2 sides. House margarita is yummy!! - Bars Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

Zero stars if I could. The food was trash. Seriously just nasty. Even the guacamole was like this dark green with red and green peppers in it when it should be light green and was horrible. Had the steak fajitas and they didn't even cut the steak it was just one long piece of meat and the tortillas they just stuck on top so they were greasy and soggy. Most Mexican places I have been to wrap them separately in tin foil. I also got the Caribbean style wings. They were so over-seasoned and spicy I barely ate them and my mouth is still burning. Even the free tortilla chips are so friggin salty....not good. The waitress spent all her time talking to her family or friends that were at another table. Didn't even notice we barely ate the trash food and ask us if there was a problem with the food. Seriously wont even think of going back it was so bad the food and the service. Thought it was going to be really good when we went in because it was busy. Either everyone was just there for the beer or they like horrible food. Dont waste your money, it really it the worst food. Adding a photo of the steak in the fajita and it's nasty looking. I was waiting for Chef Ramsey to stand up and say everyone put your forks down. read more

This is a disappointing post for me to write. I wanted so badly for Elsa's to make it great here. This location has been difficult for anything to thrive. Here's the short of it: Order a Bad Juan, skip a regular margarita, it's all ice and mix. Much of their food is good. You can't go wrong with their wings and pizza. The problem is almost always with the service. From waitresses with attitude and poor customer service, I'm not sure if it will survive. There's too many other great places to eat out there read more

Elsa's corner is a new concept for the family that's run Elsa's restaurants in Dayton for quite some time it's a sports bar with every sport imaginable on TV We stopped by on a Saturday night had a 30 minute wait for a table of three, We were greeted by a server right away to take a drink order the menus have the traditional Elsa's fixtures with quite a variety of quesadillas & nacho combinations plus Mexican classics plus new to this family business pizza, burgers and wings. We had to ask for chips and salsa note their salsa is a very runny many other restaurants have better salsa. The kitchen was backed up with orders so the server brought more chips and salsa& finally our food and food for several others tables nearby arrived My steak fajita bowl was okay, the steak was quite tough, My moms quesadilla which she normally loves also felt the meat was really tough tonight And my dad picked at his beef chimichanga which is unusual for him. Overall our waiter gave excellent service tonight he was checking on us and his tables several times due to the kitchen delay. I second another Yelper that I hope this location does well as other restaurants have failed in this location. Hopefully the kitchen can get into a better routine resulting in the food tasting better read more

The exterior of the business is dirty and unkempt. That should have been my cue to not even enter. I was greeted right away by a friendly hostess. My server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Chips were stale and reheated. I ordered the fajita bowl. It was ok. The guacamole was somewhat brown. The chicken seemed processed. The clientele was a mixed bag of people. My least favorite was the family whose mother screamed the F word repeatedly during high spirited conversation with her man. I couldn't leave fast enough. read more

I worked here for a little bit the food is fresh but the employees like to drop food on the ground and serve it to the customers, the servers are amazing but the owner is delusional, the drinks will do you good tho probably the only good thing about this place, the kitchen could be a hell of alot cleaner as well. 80 percent of the kitchen workers have no standards for cooking. read more

It is really nice, there are sometimes performances here, but my burger was mid. The service was good too, average, but good. The ambiance was nice. Overall, pretty nice place. read more

I am not sure what to say. It's Elsa's dude and so Dayton. Like the chicken chunk, ranch eatin' crowds, it's what makes us Dayton. Expect some Bad Juan disasters, free stale chips, and tomatoey salsa...but it all works and it's fun. Amazing people watching. Don't expect "authentic" Mexican, whatever that means anyway (it's a really big country with many regions of different food)...go in as if you're in a sports bar that happens to have some cheesy meaty and tacoey things. And don't have more 2 Bad Juans...you'll fight your loved ones and not mean it. It's that fluorescent yellow drink yelling. Not you. Remember this. read more

Food is very low quality, margaritas are sugar bombs, and prices are sky high. Overall just not a good restaurant. Staff is friendly.

I haven't been to Elsa's in a very long time. My tennis friends and I decided to go there after a match. We got there at 5pm on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. We got seated promptly. We asked for a table for 9 and we got seated in a tight area so it wasn't very comfy. All of ordered some type of margarita. The margarita's were good but the portion was very little. I got the gringo margarita and it was like $7. It only comes in 1 size! It's definitely not the size you would get at the other Mexican restaurants ie: La piñata, El Toro. I ordered the chimichanga dinner with ground beef. The beef was very salty and you only get 1 chimichanga for $15.50! So my rating really reflects the portion sizes for the amount you pay. So I definitely would go to a different place for Mexican food and margaritas. I didn't have and wings or other things on the menu so I can't rate that. The server was very nice and attentive. The chips were fresh and the salsa was good. read more

Ate here yesterday. It was a pretty bad excuse for "mexican" food. I noticed all of the other tables had chips and salsa, we never recieved any so I'm not sure if they're complimentary like most mexican spots and we were skipped or if you have to order them. It wasn't something I really noticed until the end of our meal, so I didn't get to ask. We ordered pretzels for an appetitzer with plain cheese and cheese with chorizo. The plain cheese was good, the chorizo cheese was really really foul. My bf got a wet burrito, i got a regular burrito. We both got beans and rice on the side. Beans were salty and rice was overcooked and blaaaand. Like really bad. Burritos were OK flavor wise, edible, but not a lot of flavor. My burrito had black olives on top which was just so strange to me. Anyway, to add insult to injury we both got super sick afterward. Not worth it for bland, weird food! Blech read more

This was our second try at the new Elsa's. The first one wasn't so good, and the second one was worse. I'll start with the positive, our bartender was very attentive and did a great job. We ordered two dishes, nachos with carnitas and fried grouper tacos. Elsa's reminds me of Mexican food in the 80s. The refried beans were dry with no flavor, the nachos we're just a mess- everything dumped on top of really bad corn chips. I will say that the fried grouper tacos were pretty good. The fish was cooked properly, but I would have preferred a soft corn tortilla vs. flour. I was really hoping that Elsa's would take this location and make it something where we wanted to go often. Unfortunately, after two bad experiences we won't be going back. read more

Very nice change of pace for a Mexican joint. I'm not a lover of Mexican food, but my husband is. But, this location has a wide variety of menu choices including burgers and wings. The have tons of televisions so the hubby can enjoy sports. They jave a nice side porch and the best drinks ever. This location is a lot bigger than their other locations and has a lot of open spaces, probably for standing room only game days. read more

Stopped in today for the first time after Dayton Dining said they had the best Queso in the Miami Valley. It was microwaved processed cheese with absolutely no flavor, 2 minutes after we got it it congealed into a ball of cheese. The food was Luke warm and to top it off the service was terrible. Our server never asked how our food was or if we needed refills on our water and when I addressed this with her, she argues with me. We will not be returning!!! read more

We stopped by on a Saturday night around 7 pm. We were quick to get seated outdoors. The menu is pretty extensive, with Mexican, burgers, sandwiches, wings and pizza. I feel like they are going for more sports bar, then Mexician restaurant. That being said, we started with the chips & salsa that they bring complimentary. The salsa was really bland and definitely not homemade. We asked for something spicy to add to it and we were brought a jalapeño salsa, which was really good! As for dinner, I ordered a fajita mini burrito with chorizo, hubby got wings and daughter got pizza. The burrito was good and filling. It came covered with white cheese sauce, which I love, but not on top of my burrito. The wings were big & meaty. My daughter loved her pizza also. Most importantly...they are known for Bad Juan margaritas. While I did not order the Bad Juan, the regular one I had was delicious! read more

Food is good, service is terrible, and management takes no responsibility for bad service. Also, they have undisclosed fees (credit card charge, which is added to your bill before they even know how you are paying). Make sure you check your food before you leave when making a to-go order. And if your order is wrong once you get home, good luck getting a refund, unless you want to drive back for correct food. read more

The food is bad. Refried bean look and smell like dog food. Chicken comparable to wet cat food.

I've only ever sat at the bar but those bartenders are GREAT! They're quick, friendly, and good at their jobs. I will be honest we don't come here specifically for food as it's supposed to be more of a bar place, but their tacos with Monterey Jack cheese are pretty damn good. read more

Strong drinks and a wide variety on the menu. Mexican? Yes. But pizza or burgers? Yep, those too. Good food. The wait wasn't bad. The salsa could have been better but the chips were good. Plenty of food on the plate - too much to eat. read more

The place is a lot bigger inside than I would have thought. We did not order alcoholic drinks. I have to say, that must be the reason people rave about Elsa's. We drove 15 miles to try this place. The chips tasted like a stale off brand store bought chip, not fresh. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga with rice and black beans. The rice tastes like a rice-a-roni box rice. Also overcooked, mushy rice. The beef in the chimichanga was bland no flavor at all. My husband got the fajita burrito and this also lacked seasoning. Probably won't return here. When we have other places close to us that are better even though a chain. read more

We had great service and food was really good too. Had the enchiladas verde style with cilantro lime rice. Rey good!

While the food is fairly decent for your every day Mexican chain restaurant, the poor service and well above average wait for food make the restaurant a pass in favor of many other better locations less than a minute away. read more

Above average wait for way below average food. The rice was mush and tasted like spoiled vegetables. The beans were cold and undercooked, and the chicken tasted like a poor imitation top Raman in both flavor and texture. The tea tasted like dish water. Go somewhere else. read more

Was so excited to have an Elsas closer to home. Unfortunately this has been a disappointment. Our first visit was terrible (food) but we decided to try again thinking because it was newly opened, it needed to work out kinks. However the second visit was just as bad. Food has no flavor at all. Waiter was half-ass at best. Sadly, we won't return to this one again. read more

This horrible restaurant doesn't present the normal Elsa'a culture. The management was rude and disrespectful. They messed up a bill from my party and refused to adjust it after they agreed it was incorrect. To top it all off they called the police. I will never patronize this restaurant again and will instruct all friends and family to do the same. This location needs new management as it is the worst location in the Dayton area. read more

Save your money and go to El Rancho Grande. The food is overpriced. My boyfriend and I both ordered the enchiladas; the rice is actually inedible. The taste is just horrible. The enchiladas aren't terrible but the meat is poorly cooked. The beans were cold and had a blob of fat in them. They ended up taking my meal off but leaving my boyfriend's however the manager wouldn't even come out to talk to us. The lack of professionalism and quality customer service is extremely rude. Really wish we would've stuck to what we knew and gone to el rancho. read more

The food was mediocre at best but the atmosphere had us leaving with a headache. The ceiling fans were spinning and several are hung under the lights making it seem like the lights flickered. It also has a pub atmosphere not very authentic Mexican. read more

Long time patron of Elsa's. Our first time at the "New" Elsa's. The decor was very nice. The server came to our table quick. The food came quick as well. However the server disappeared outside. Hopefully they will improve. read more

I had chili con quest it's ok but bland. Chips have an odd texture but lunch buffet was reasonable. Staff seems to lack much knowledge about the restaurant. When I asked for my bill the server just stood by the bar watching sports. read more

So very disappointed--and everything was within the authority of the manager to fix, except the manager was the problem. Order was wrong, chicken instead of beef. Waitress kind and apologetic, had order redone. Manager drops the plate onto the table in front of me and walks away. I asked to speak to a manager, that is when I actually learned he was the manager. I told him I was saying "thank you" just as he dropped the dish and walked away. He said he was trying to get it to me in a hurry. I said I thought he would at least say he hopes I enjoy my meal and sorry it wasn't right the first time...but no, he sarcastically tells me to have a fantastic evening. As he walked away (again) I told my husband he was behaving like an Ahole. Whoa! He came back and attacked me! Yelling loudly, telling me not to call him names -- despite telling him I wasn't even talking to him, he went on for at least 5 minutes, yelling as others looked totally shocked around us. So, maybe I could have called him a jerk instead...though it would have been an understatement, no manager is ever in the right by yelling at a customer. BTW, he said his name is "Sully" which is so ironic when you think of the calm strength of the Sully. Anyway, back to the other Elsa's with great service and great managers. read more
