Nearby local Mexican Bellbrook El Toro is on par with any Mexican in Dayton area; we like that this El Toro is 5 minutes away and that there is much parking. Pehaps Mexican on south 48 near Kroger is better. Very good management, and servers are being trained. Steak Fajitas $23.59 Cooked with fresh bell peppers tomatoes and onions. served with rice beans lettuce guacamole sour cream pico de gallo and three flour tortillas. There are several Fajitas offered, and my dear wife specifies the dinner menu rather than lunch menu. We like this chain, and have visited nearly all locations We never order tacos. Highly recommend. El Toro must improve online presence. read more

Service - terrible. We waited 5 minutes at the bar with no acknowledgment other than getting menus. Watched 3 guys then sit at the bar and they got menus chips and drinks and we were still not acknowledged. We left. read more

Carried out was easy and great. But no curbside service and ungloved cashier took my card instead of letting me do my own or using gloves or tissues. It really is all about the extra precautions right now. read more

Good service! Good food ! 1 $ beers on Thursdays ! Bathroom clean.. I'd definitely recommend

I'm gonna start this short and sweet. I was really disappointed. I usually go to a different location but we were in the area and decided to go to this one. It was a mistake. First red flag was that it was dead, maybe 3 tables in the whole place, and no one sat us for a while. Second red flag was that the server was nonexistent. No refills. No interaction at all really. She sucked. If it was busy, I would cut her a lot of slack, but it wasn't AT ALL. Then the food came out and it was bland and just okay. Not the food I'm used to when I go to El Toro. It was edible and that's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1. I'd go somewhere else. read more

Food was good but the service was horrible. We waited around 20 minutes just for are DRINKS!! Please could you fix this thank you!! read more

This particular El Toro is my favorite weekday "nothing in the fridge" kind of night. Its 5 minutes from the house and the food is delicious. However, with all the incredible experiences with the welcoming staff and overall friendly vibe, I might drive over an hour. Thanks El Toro in Bellbrook really being my bright spot in an otherwise dull week. Also, try the fish tacos! read more

The staff here has always been very good. I have never had any bad experiences with any meal. The food is OK and mostly "Americanized" from what I have had on my trips to Mexico but not so much as to loose the flavor of true Mexican food. It is the best of the lot around Dayton and I have always been pleased. If the mood strikes for a south of the border meal, El Toro is my first choice. On a specialized note, my daughter has Celiac Disease and has always found a good gluten free item on the menu. It's one of the places she really enjoys for a selection Cheers read more

Visited again, and had a typical great experience! Sean was our server, one of our favorites! He was great! Food was hot and came out quick. Chips and salsa are also some of the best! We had the chicken nachos and pollo loco. Fed 3 people with leftovers! read more

We are long time diners at the Bellbrook restaurant but the place is really going downhill with the new manager. Since he has been there (last 4-5 months), there is too much standing around, spending time distracting the waitresses and poor overall cleanliness. Today, at the noon hour, they were showing a TV program with nudity and mid-evil violence and another with UCF (cage) fighting. When I told the manager that the choice of programming was inappropriate for the families with under 10 children, his answer was "Someone requested the program so we have to show it." Can't even respond to that lame excuse! Maybe they can let Oscar manage more often- things always run better when he is in charge. Guess we will have to try one of the other locations where the brothers care about their clients. read more

We visited this location around 1PM on Cinco De Mayo expecting a decent crowd, decent drink specials, and some liveliness from the staff. We were a little disappointed on these fronts, but the food was good. We asked for their specials for the day and they were 'jumbo' margaritas and bottled beer. I say 'jumbo' because they were hardly jumbo and on the weaker side. They pre-mixed the margs so, no way to tell of you got a full shot and a half for a jumbo marg.. but it definitely wasn't anywhere near that amount of alcohol in the drink. We also ordered the queso and it was delicious. I love the ground meat in it and the fact that it was white and not yellow queso. The flavor is better. In all, decent place. read more

El Toro Mexican Restaurant - Queso Fundido - Mexican Near Me - Bellbrook, Ohio

When this place opened, service was good (not great) and the food was pretty good. Over the last couple years, everything has been on the decline. Last night I stopped in to order take-out. There was no bartender and the server that was covering seemed to be the only person working. He could not multi task. He took a refill drink order, walked by me to log the order in a system on the other side of the restaurant. 10-15 minutes later he came back to greet me and take a drink order. The restaurant only had about 20% occupancy, and there were 2-3 servers standing around. Another person sat down at the bar, and after the server ignored him once he walked up to the people standing around. His food arrived 10-15 minutes before mine. After a total time of ~45 minutes, I got my order. The food tasted like everything came from a can. My order was incorrect, chicken instead of seafood. My wife's order was a Monster burrito that was basically a pile of goo. This was the third time in two years where we were extremely disappointed with the service and the food. This small local chain has expanded quickly, and at least this location seems to be affected by the growth. Our city is small and we like to support the local businesses, but this one is off our list. read more

Make sure you actually call them if you decide to place an order. I placed my online order at 7:50. Was told it would be done by 8:22 when I got there at 8:25 it hadn't even been put in to be made. All I had was 2 enchiladas and the sides that come with it..... I didn't leave with my food until 8:35. The food was burnt around the edges and the "cheese dip" they put on top was completely dried up. Saddest food I've ever gotten from an el toro. read more

Had lunch with a large group of family members on a recent Saturday. The service was just ok, but the food was good and at a reasonable price. My wife and I split the Chicken Fajitas and they were good. While this is not fine dining, we enjoyed it and would come back again. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. read more

Great salsa and pretty extensive menu. I got the lunch "fajita burrito" special. They don't have the best hot sauce though. read more

I screwed up my order on their app. They remade my food without a complaint. That's great customer service. I really enjoy their Baja Fish tacos and my husband the Enchiladas Supreme. Good food at at a fair price. read more

Food was good, shrimp fajitas were very good, chips/salsa very good, hot salsa wasn't hot and tasted weird). Our server was weak, inattentive and hard to find. The kids didn't like their food, hamburger and soft tacos, they said it made them sick. Wife liked her chicken enchiladas, but overall the group wasn't overly pleased. My favorite restaurant in Dayton. They're always so welcoming and accommodating, and you get a ton of food for the money. Plus, the food is DELICIOUS. I've had a good sampling of everything off the menu since my family has been going to El Toro since they opened in this location, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal. My favorite items include the Toro Salad, the Enchiladas Poblanas, and the Quesadilla Supreme, plus their cheese dip (you've gotta get it!! Yummmm) and their awesome margaritas. Now I'm hungry for El Toro and I'm a thousand miles away... Sigh :/ read more

El Toro Mexican Restaurant - One of the best waiters you'll ever find! - Mexican Near Me - Bellbrook, Ohio

Rudest and worst bartender ever, down to his nasty faux-hawk. No acknowledgement. Other server had to jump in. Food was ok though.

Disappointed in my food chips were overdone. Waiter didn't check back. Forgot salt and side of sour cream then they brought a huge dish of it and charged 1.45! read more

This is the worst Mexican food that I've ever had in my life. Let's start for this: Why are you using Kraft fake cheese for your queso fundido? #WTF, why are you confusing Midwestern's with the wrong flavor? The Mexican people working there should know that there's no anything even close with their delicious food! I which that I can give this place -5 Stars!!! Stay AWAY of this hideous place. read more

Went here for dinner and had great food & service. Sean was our waiter and was very upbeat, friendly and accommodating. There was barely any wait time for the food to come out and it was all hot and delicious. I got the tacos de asada, which was 3 soft tacos with grilled chicken & refried beans. I'm usually not a huge fan of mexican food, however the food was great & I'd definitely go back again! read more

Good food, good prices, good service. Thank you to the person who cut me off this afternoon; without that, I would have driven to a different restaurant! Food was served hot, fresh, and fast. And tastes great! Not sure what the problem is with the few people calling it tasteless, because it definitely isn't. But it's also not masking no flavor with a ton of heat and spices, either. Definitely a place we'll return to. read more

Cold greasy food. Prices should be better because the quality sucked. Service was slow. read more

Came tonight for taco Tuesday! Ordered tacos and they were good. We decided to order one more taco after waiting 15-20 minutes for the waiter to come back and check on us while my cup was empty. We waited another 15 minutes for the taco to come out and it was cold. We ordered cheese dip and it had an awful taste. We've never had issues until tonight. We tried to explain to the manager that the service was awful and the taco was cold and cheese dip was awful. We asked if we could get cheese dip off bill and the cold taco. And the manager continued to argue with us... saying he refused to take anything off the bill. I never ask for things like this at a Resturant. He finally gave us those items off the bill as he's laughing at us and telling us to not kill his vibe. I've never been treated this way at a restaurant before! Absolutely ridiculous! read more

Wow there was nothing really special about the food here. I was expecting it to be great because to the recommendation from a friend. However it was just ok. I had the chicken fajita barrito. It had a lot of flavors, However the caso just want right read more

Have previously always loved this place, not so on todays visit. Chimichanga was floating in cheese sauce, so much so I could not eat it. Also did not realize there was a charge for the Tomatio sauce. Guess I am just use to FL restaurants not charging but feel like we should have been told. When I questioned was just told that is the way it is. When I went to pay cashier apologized & said talk to Mgr next time I came in. Then proceeded to not charge me the right amount, shorted them over $3.00. Being honest I told her which she was very appreciative. I then paid the balance due. I saying this to show I was not trying to get anything free. Just hated not being able to eat my meal!! read more

When this place first opened is was fantastic. Since then it continues to spiral downward. This will be my last visit. Food was terrible. Greasy and lukewarm with a waiter that was more interested in talking with the other staff members than actually waiting on customers. Farewell. read more

Best Mexican in the area! Very authentic, quick service and clean! My favorite two menu items are the chicken fajitas and the the chicken fajita nachos. If your looking to try and stay on the healthy side I would go for the fajita's since you can put whatever toppings you want on them. If your in the mood for cheese (and let's be honest, who isnt) then the chicken fajita nachos (smothered in a white, creamy cheese) are what you want. They also have great specials on margaritas and beer. read more
