I was anxious to get on the road ahead of the blizzard but here we are. From the first moment when we were greeted by regulars and I raised eyebrows by asking for a glass for my PBR, I knew I was among friends. Regulars had all brought in food and we were warmly invited to partake. Everything from home baked cookies to Arby's! And a world class collection of sports memorabilia. Really world class. I wish this was in my hood. But I was told it is often this way during games, so I will be bringing my new friend, who does live nearby. I totally forgot I needed to get on the road and enjoyed myself. And if you know me, you know how unique that is. So if you can, visit here ASAP. And you can thank me later.

Guess he felt it was safe to use a slur in a family owned place. Bit it even made feel uncomfortable when he said it and it wasn't addressed for one and for two considering that's part of the surrounding community. Come on let's do better bc your regulars heard it as well and it made me lose respect bc it wasn't addressed at the time by Betty or Chad who were standing there when it was said,

I was unsure if this was allowed but nothing was said upon entrance so I thought it was okay. not even five minutes into being there we were aggressively told to dump out our drinks so I go ahead and do so immediately. We went towards the bar a few minutes later to order a drink and to play pool afterwards. before we could say or do anything the bartender yelled at us to order something and accused us of things. very alienating and rude I would not go here if you don't like to be treated poorly.

There was a DJ & a dance floor, but very few people were dancing, which was disappointing. The place itself was cool with colorful lights & fun graffiti-like walls, but the aesthetic was let down by the lack of people. We enjoyed the free popcorn & I really liked my drink, the downside up, although I realize it's probably too sweet for most. Unfortunately, the cocktail & popcorn didn't make up for the dead atmosphere & we left pretty quickly. I would be interested in going again & seeing what it would be like when it's lively; I imagine it would be a fun spot when the dance floor is full!

This bar tender (white man, older, long salt & pepper colored greasey hair, not tall not short, with a plumper build in the waist) comes out to the patio with a bar receipt and pen in his hand askn loudly to my friend if hed done some thing wrong to her or whats goin on and she looked puzzled and replied no why he then shakes his hand at her and she said as she realized it was her drink receipt naw bby u kno i got u always im jus payn wit card tonight not cash i was gonna tip u once i was done for the nite. ( mind u we hadnt lit a cigarette or took a sip of our drink yet & had the whole patio lookn at us and everyone was in silence by now ) The rude man turns slings the door open muttering well if u do or dont ill be jus fine! Then someone said he was drunk, cant tend bar or handle ur poison dont drink! Then had a discussion about it inside the bar again for some reason but it back fired cause damn near the entire bar walked out and left due to the rudeness and unprofessional conduct presented by the bar tender! Im not so sure id return! No customer should be harrased or made to feel obliged to tip after jus walking into a place and who knows she could of tip'd him a $50 or $100 by nites end but he will never know now! And they say hes been a problem for a while now and costing the bar customers which is money!

Now my BFF is working a block away, so we hit it up to start off my birthday weekend and I'm definitely going to have to make it a regular stop. Happy hour deals are the most clutch here. Half off all the drinks (or at least almost all - they say there are "rare" exceptions, but I haven't encountered any. Even the specialty cocktails were half off! AND it goes until 7pm. (If your happy hour ends before 6, it's not happy.) The main bar is moody and honestly makes it kind of feel like you're transported. I believe they open the front windows during nice weather but in the winter, you're snug and cozy and the hustle and bustle of Walnut St is miles away. There is counter seating and then the other side is a long line of a booth seat with bistro tables and extra stools. The courtyard in the back is its own vibe and another transport. You're outside! No, you're inside! Kind of like Arnold's patio. There's a bar back there too. No snacks here (all the bars should have some snacks, dammit!) but it's more of a stop on the way to the rest of your night.
