Myself and a group of coworkers who aren't from the area decided to grab some drinks after our company Christmas party and stumbled upon this bar while driving out of the area, so we decided to give it a try (because of course the idea to grab a couple more drinks after you've already drank quite a bit sounds like a great idea. Thank God for a DD). Looking around at the surrounding establishments, you can tell this is an up and coming area. The bar on the other hand was your typical bar I suppose. It seemed to be a good night to be there because it was karaoke night and there was some truly good entertainment. For 5 drinks, our total came out to $40, which is a steal considering it was all top shelf cocktails. My biggest gripe were the bar tables/belly bars. I like this bar because it's welcoming to all types of people and the bartenders are awesome. Drink quality is well above average, especially for the price. I also feel very comfortable stopping in with my LGBTQ friends and hanging out. I'm not one for the dance and crowded bar scene so I skip the nights when it's lines out the door but that seems to be a crowd pleaser for others and that's fantastic! Pitiful's isn't the same since COVID, but they're doing their best with protocols. Pitiful's used to be the place to go to dance the night away and not remember a thing, so understand that is the reputation among young locals. The drinks are cheap and it still got pretty full during COVID, I kept my mask on (only because it's comfortable). Set your expectations to Pitiful's being a young professional bar and you'll have a good time! It depends on what you are looking for. You would give this place a negative 5 if you want a chill vibe with respectful people all around to make conversations. It is meant as the final destination for the night, dancing your ass off with 10 shots in. I loved it when I was going out a lot. One of the handful "clubs" in Cincy; love love love the throw backs and it is literally the only type of music they play; incredibly crowded that you can barely move; can't stand it if you are sober, but pretty fun if you are intoxicated. Meh not my scene. We came here on a weekend night after we had already been out for a while. The place was much larger than it appears from the outside. It was super crowded, but was easy to get drinks. It was mostly one huge dance party, so if thats your thing, this is your place. I've been here twice now and if you ask me to go there again, it's going to be a hard no. Like, over my dead body. It's a mob scene of drunk sloppy wasted people stumbling over each other, pushing, shoving, total mayhem. The girls in particular are unbearable -- entitled, shoving left and right, impatient, spilling their drinks on you, knocking your own drink out of your hand, every manner of gnarled faces on people who should have quit the night and gone home hours ago. The music is basic with a cheesy deejay from some eh radio station and it's the kind dance floor where everyone is basically moshing around w drinks in their hands so the only kind of "dancing" you can do here is to get beer-soaked by guys and girls who have no rhythm and multiple shots in their bellies. I love this bar. It's really fun. Usually, the music is great and it's really fun to dance to. The place does get packed! Anyways... my husband and I visited on a "parents night out" and it was full of CREEPERS. Sooo many older men clearly there to hit on younger drinking women. I've been coming here for several years and it can sometimes be a fun night out but it's a low-rated/mediocre bar/dance club at best. My last experience will be my last. The type of crowd that comes here is heavily-intoxicated and not fun to be around. In the bathroom, someone was taking a video with their phone and was getting footage of multiple people's genitals. When I told several bar tenders, they did nothing to help me or stop the situation. Instead of a fun night, I left violated and crying. Mr. Pitful's is a pretty cool place. I have been here a few times, once during a bar crawl and another on a regular night out. At night they usually have a DJ playing music. Bottom line (on the top line): the venue didn't seem dirty, the drinks weren't bad, and the people weren't trashy. But I literally felt like I went back to be 19 in a college bar on a white fraternity campus. I have been ending my weekends at Pitiful's for almost 2 years now, and always have a great time. I like how there is a more "bar" side and a dance side. Since I have become a regular I have gotten to know the workers, who are all incredibly sweet. The bouncers and bartenders will always take care of you as long as you respect them. My home town is Cincinnati, I graduated from Sycamore HS in 2012 but I live in Mississippi now for school. I am home for break and was on a Santa bar crawl last night and was at the bar prior to 10pm when the dancing started. The bartender Earl was very nice but when we returned after eating I was denied access by the door man, my ID was almost broken and they threatened to arrest me for using a fake ID. I am 25, I had a University of Mississippi ID with my name and picture on it and credit card with my name on it but they told me the only way I could get in is if I could show them my birthday on Facebook. My phone was dead so that wasn't an option yet, we were wearing lanyards for the bar crawl and this really ruined the night for me and my friends. I will never return to this bar when in town, even when I move back. Their staff was rude and I will now have to pay to get my ID replaced since they have damaged it. Was kicked out for talking to a guy that was attacked at the bar. Before the situation even happened I was just talking with the other bouncers that I already knew...... As I walked up to the guy that was attacked asking if he was ok, the manager bouncer began to scream at me and to get away from him. I walked out of the bar and he still began to yell at me for being on 'property' when I was outside the place next door. He then told the cop to tell me to never come back again after the cop told the 2 guys to never come back. I come to this place every weekend, never had a problem with anyone, was always chatting with the same bouncers I knew while they were professionally working, never interfered with what they were doing. A bouncer kicked me out because I was "elbowing" him. I was doing nothing even close to that - I was forcibly leaning against him because of the amount of people present in the crowd at the venue and I bumped up against him because of this, by sheer coincidence. He was clearly eager to take advantage of his power as a bouncer, and kicked me out with no good reason. I wish I had the invidiual's name, but he denied to give me even that ..
