finally got to visit this bakery and I was blown away by their baked goods!!! had the chocolate au pain, apple crumble croissant and bbq pork puff pastry. holy smokes are they masters of their craft! the croissants were so light, fluffy and perfectly flaky. the apple crumble was sweet and a delicious treat. the bbq puff pastry was the ultimate winner though as I favour savoury items! I 100% cannot wait to go back to try other goodies. There isn't a lot of parking but transmitting to Port Moody station and walking down Rocky point/brewers row to get here is a delicious feat ;)

Clockwise: Ube croissant, Reese's croissant, chocolate raspberry croissant, snickers cream puff, earl grey cream puff.

Finally had a chance to swing by their shop. I tried Elmo several times when they were doing sporadic pop ups in Richmond so it's great to see that they now have a store front. Upon entering, your eyes can't help but fixate on their marvelous case of selection and the vibrant colours of their croissants. I am a sucker for open kitchens so loved that they had that you can see all the action behind the counter as you wait your turn. We couldn't help but get a few items and but it was nice that they also had a few chairs and tables out front as we HAD to eat at least of the pastries right then and there. The staff were kind enough to advise us that the Ube croissant was still warm so that was the first one we tried. The croissant was flaky and buttery and was loaded with very subtle hints of ube filling. We also got the Ube cake and the cake had a more prominent ube flavour which we thoroughly enjoyed. The other items that we got were two cream puffs and two other croissants. The peanut butter in the Reese's croissant was a little dry for our preference but all the croissants had the same flaky buttery goodness so you can't go wrong. Of the cream puffs, we preferred the snickers cream puff. The ooey gooey caramel was chef's kiss. Can't wait to be back to try the rest of the case!

Got cake, cream puffs, croffin, koign-amann, and croissants from this place. And mmm they were all so delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more. Lots of intricate flavors that mesh really well together. Good crust for cream puff, and good flakey layers for the croissant. Cake was not overly sweet for the Asian tongue and was super nice and moussey! We really enjoyed having these desserts over Christmas break, and it was always a oooo-aaa so pretty unboxing moment. But always plus plus plus when it tastes as good as it looks. Can't wait to come back for more!

Got the Ube cake ($40) for a birthday celebration and it was SO delicious! Ingredients from the website: layers of cashew dacquoise, ube sponge, ube halaya, and white chocolate ube mousse I'm usually not a fan of mousse but holy moly the mousse was incredibly smooth and so delicious! Loved the ube sponge cake part, and really enjoyed the base layer with that cashew which gave it some more texture! Really looking forward to visiting them again for their croissants!!!

Elmo is such a lovely addition in the new developments in Port Moody. The location is super close to Rocky Point and offers such delicious pastries! We stopped by on a weekend morning and I loved everything in their display and they had so much variety. They also have coffee options as well. The space is beautifully decorated, but as others have mentioned, there is no seating at all. It would be nice to at least have a bench to sit at while waiting for the orders. The location is really just a kitchen with a counter but everything is super organized. The staff was very kind and I enjoyed both the cream puff and croissant that I ordered. Definitely on par with the other croissant bakeries around Vancouver :)

Fabulous baked goods! Their croissants are the stuff of legend! Just wish the hours extended a wee bit so I could stop there after work.

They're located in a small plaza next to a hair salon. We dropped in on a Saturday (around 1:00pm) and there was a small lineup outside. It's a tiny shop with limited selection. Service wasn't the friendliest but it's more of a grab and go spot. There are two small tables outside if you choose to linger. Small selection of pastries, bread and macarons along with a few drink options. 15 macaron flavours ($2.00 each) and two creative macarons ($3.00 each) were available. - Chocolate twist ($3.60) - J bought a twist to eat right away. I sampled a bite; flaky, buttery and fresh. - 6x Macarons ($12.00 for 6) - we opted for the passionfruit chocolate, earl grey chocolate, matcha, mango, pistachio and black currant. All sounded great but we wanted bolder, stronger flavours. Favourite of the bunch was the black currant. GM&F is a cute French pastry shop to check out if you're in the area. 3.5 stars.

I found J'Adore Les Macarons on Yelp that they offer macron class, let's do it! The instructor Connie is friendly and knowledgeable. My friend and I arrived 10 mins early before the class, the notes and some ingredients were prepared and placed on countertop. Yes, we made macarons at her kitchen. The first thing I learnt from Connie was how to pronounce Macaron. (Mac-a-ron). Macaron is referring to the French Macaron. If pronounce it macaroon, it is the coconut kind. We started with a cup of tea and tasted beautiful macarons during the class. Our group decided to make Lavender macarons with buttercream and chocolate ganache which made of 66% Valhrona dark chocolate. Connie taught us her secrets and techniques to make Parisian macarons. During the class, she vigilant in checking and measuring the ingredients. After 4 hours long class, I really enjoyed and learnt a lot. I took 18 macarons home and shared with my friend and hubby. I would recommend any macaron lover to take the class or buy the macarons from Connie

I am relatively new to them as just being introduced to them this year! Although I am a macaron noob, I've looked online and read recipes and know enough about them to truly appreciate the precision that goes into its creation. So I went to their website and signed up for a class on Victoria day. I went on my own as my friend was unavailable. Connie, the instructor emailed me promptly to let me know as soon as there are 4 people in the class, it will be good to go. The class is held at Connie's house which I liked as it was warm and comfortable and made me feel at ease. I'm just a self-taught baker making assorted cookies and cupcakes at home and have never taken a class before so I didn't know what to really expect. The intimate setting of having 4 students was awesome. She had tea for us to drink, fun aprons to wear and 2 sample macarons to taste as we learned the secrets of baking macarons. It's great for people who have tried making macarons and need to tweak something to make consistent perfect macarons. You can tell Connie is just obsessed with macarons. I love it! She has done the work, spent time learning the skill and art of them and loves sharing that information through her classes. I think she said she has been making macarons weekly for the past year and a half! That's a LOT of macarons. If you love macarons and love to bake, Connie's class is a MUST. I had so much fun, and she is so pleasant. She even welcomes emails if you have a macaron crisis at home and have questions in the future. The price is fair. $100 for instruction PLUS you get to take 20 macarons home! It was definitely worth it. The whole experience makes me dreamy for Paris and macarons. Thank-you again Connie for generously sharing your expertise!
