I'm new to the Fresno area, so I was looking for a place to get my hair done when I found Elle's 5 star rating on Yelp. This couldn't be more accurate. I called for an appointment and they had availability within the next few days. I came in and the two people working the front desk were SO nice. Genuinely sweet and really made an effort to make conversation. Mo was my stylist, and he was absolutely incredible! He did exactly what I wanted and was fun to talk to. Great service. They got me in same day and out with a fresh lease on life...or at least the ability to see my life as my bangs had been untouched by sheers for far too long. Molly was professional and personable. She made me feel comfortable and didn't bat an eye when I came in with my 4 month old daughter in tow. She crafted a cut akin to the picture I provided which held up to my expectations even after I washed it and styled it back in the real world. Alyson did a fabulous job transforming my hair. I cut off about 9 inches, went with the layered cut and love, love what I got. What sets this place apart from any other haircut is the entire spa experience... Not only did I get my hair washed and a scalp massage, but shoulder and neck massage, forearms and hands, I felt like I was at the spa with wonderful scents music, and just A fabulous environment altogether. I have yet to have the opportunity to visit Elle Style Bar. HOWEVER, they have acquired MY stylist and they couldn't be any more lucky! Lindsey Lofstrand is such a great person, stylist, and friend. Originally I saw another stylist at the salon Lindsey was at prior.. then Lindsey came along. She has style, experience, and a great opinion. I have somewhat unmanageable hair.. it's thick in some places and I've made some questionable hair style decisions in the past (talk about a grow out!). When I sat in Lindsey's chair for the first time, I was a bit nervous. But she was so calm, cool, collected that immediately I became comfortable with her taking her tools to my hair. Lindsey cut my hair to fit my face, personality, and growth patterns.. I was amazed. My husband was the type of guy to buzz his own hair at home. Finally I convinced him to grow it out (he's much more approachable with hair). Initially he saw the same stylist that I did before switching to Lindsey. When I came home ranting and raving about Lindsey he was intrigued to try for himself. Sure enough he LOVED what she did to his hair and from then on was making regular appointments (more frequent than I did). It's too bad, for us, she moved to Clovis.. But she is surely an asset to the team at Elle Style Bar. If you get the chance to choose who's chair you sit it, opt for Lindsey! read more

I was really surprised to receive a call from the owner after I left my review. Lisa was so genuine and kind on the phone and after we spoke she encouraged me to try elle one more time. I have to say I was a little hesitant as I didn't want it to be awkward but after she insisted on either a refund or a haircut on her I decided to take her up on it. Boy was this time completely different! I can truly say I will be back and recommending Elle to all my friends. I made an appointment with Denise who I had originally requested but didn't see the first time and she is phenomenal! I've already had people ask who did my hair so I'm sending some friends your way! To top off the whole experience I went to pay for the color portion of my hair and was told it was all taken care of. I had a sew in that needed to be removed while also needing a deep conditioning treatment and a press. Lindsey and Mo worked on my hair to make it look fabulous before I left. There were many obstacles including an oddly put in sew in and very coarse kinky curly hair. I am very impressed with how they did my hair. I came in last week to get my haircut by the fabulous Sixx. She did exactly as I asked for and did an amazing job. I hadn't been to this salon till that day so I was immediately shocked by the lovely decor and very nice atmosphere. I visited today again for another haircut. This time, I had my hair done by Moses. He greeted me and walked me to my station. He asked how I would like my hair cut, and I told him. He gave me suggestions of how I could have it done. He cut my sides and back short as I asked, and I took his suggestions and let him do what he suggested. Afterwards, he shampooed and conditioned my hair. We headed back to the station and he finished up the rest of the details. He did a second round of washing, with a warm towel around my face, except my mouth and nose. We headed back again and he styled it with pomade and a blow dryer, giving my advice on how to style my hair using those and some hand techniques. We had a friendly conversation while he was styling my hair, and made it very comfortable while I was there. I am very glad that my return to Elle Style Bar was yet again a great one. read more

After moving and traveling for the past month, my hair was an atrocious mess. I have naturally blonde hair and decided to use a box red (gasp!) on my hair. (If you've ever had dark red hair with blonde roots, you know the atrocity I am talking about). I found Elle on Yelp and they fit me in last minute. Erinn colored my hair and Jen gave me a blow out and trim. I cannot rave enough about the color of my hair! I was convinced it would take 5 treatments to get my hair back blonde, but Erinn did a bunch of all over blonde highlights, and my hair looks amazing! What a gorgeous place!! This Aveda salon definitely has a big City feel to it, but with the welcoming attitude you are used to in Old Town Clovis. I decided on Elle Style Bar after reading the Yelp reviews. I also had decided to call for an appointment with Denise in particular because of reviews here on Yelp and another review site. After deciding to call for an appointment, I found out my sister went to Denise and highly recommended her. I went for my first appointment today and loved the experience. When I walked in Nicki, the receptionist, greeted me and checked me in and let Denise know I was there. Nicki was extremely friendly and helpful. I came in with a few pictures of hairstyles, but not 100% sure of what I wanted. Denise took what I showed her and perfectly cut my hair better than I imagined it would be. They salon itself was relaxing, extremely clean and organized. The hot tea was amazing too! I would highly recommend both Elle Style Bar and Denise to anyone.
