Potato leek soup: it had just been St Patrick's Day, so they were still offering some themed items. The soup was VERY fresh, had a very pleasant aftertaste, and the potatoes were fresh. Rich, but not too rich. Just the right balance. Onion Rings: WOW! Fantastic, and huge! Beer battered mushrooms: Equally as good as the onion rings. What I also loved about these (and the onion rings) is that they tasted just as good the next day either heated up or even ice cold. They were THAT good Turkey Catamaran Club: My wife loved this. Triple decker sandwich with very fresh and tasty smoked turkey, bacon, and mayo. My wife is not big on leftovers, but liked this so much she was sure to finish half on site and the other half the next day. Boat Builders Burger: 1/3 of a lb of ground chuck medium rare (they cooked it perfectly) with some Swiss on top. Probably the best burger I've had in the last few years. All of the above for WELL under $100. Even tipping quite generously (our server deserved it-she was a sweetheart) we still didn't come near $100. There is NOTHING for appetizers if you're gluten free so I popped an enzyme and prayed. For dinner I ordered the grilled walleye dinner with a vegetable medley and potatoes. My husband got the beef tips and noodles. All of it was prepared perfectly! For such a small place in a small town, I can guarantee a lot of the food is frozen but it was prepared well and tasted fresh. Food freshness gains 4 stars, quality pulls in 5! Our servers were very good but nothing was ever cleared from our table so there is room for improvement there. Service gets 4 stars. Cleanliness gains 4 stars, this little place was pretty clean but there is again room for improvement. The toilets are stained, and the dust is apparent on some surfaces. Especially the window sill in the ladies room. There's a dead bee on it from God knows when. But the important parts were clean. Ambiance gains 5 stars and was very unexpected! That gives this location 4 stars which is not bad! I hope this little town appreciates this lone star in their community. I would hate to see it close. I recommend stopping if you're ever driving through and I know we'll be back.

A few other people got tacos, burgers, sandwiches, in the burrito. Everyone had nice sized portions and loved their food. We did get a second round of drinks which took just as long and then had to go find our waitress to ask for our bills to cash out. Highly recommend for the food drinks, and atmosphere, but the service could use some work to become a little bit more friendly. I believe it might've been the owner, but he was super kind and came around and checked out how everyone's food tasted. Since we have a cottage right in Lake City we'll definitely be back again!
