    Fresh homemade jams

Great place! We stopped here on our way to sleeping bear dunes and had breakfast. Huge portions, good food, fair price, and friendly servers. I highly recommend it.

Homemade jams for thick toasted bread, excellent! Get some to go!

A super casual, local breakfast spot with homemade foods! Glad we stopped in on our way home to give a try at the Roundabout. Friendly and prompt food service when we came in around 10am on a weekday. The fresh breads and homemade jelly/jams (cherry, blueberry, maple, strawberry and mixed fruit) were great! Plus I ordered and enjoyed a half order of homemade biscuits and gravy - very tasty with sausage and good gravy thickness. We also tried the Irish omelette with minced corn beef and Swiss - was OK but I'm more accustomed to having larger chunks of meat. Based on this I'd suggest staying with the more traditional eggs and meat like bacon or sausage. Hash browns were fresh and good, but again, definitely try their different homemade thick slices breads, heard the raisin toast was wonderful. Liked their jams so much, decided to take a few jars "to go"! So if in the area, and hungry for some home cooked breakfast, give Jennifer's Roundabout a try. Enjoy!

Classic breakfast place with extras. Homemade bread and maple syrup. Good prices. Very friendly and efficient waitress. Will be a regular stop for us. Most people seemed to know each other.

If we're going to be honest we expected the worst when walking in the door here. We figured it was destined to be a small town greasy diner with cheap food. However, we were more than wrong and thrilled to admit it. While the plates weren't shiny and it wasn't fancy the food that arrived on our table would rival many of the places in Traverse City. This local family (husband and wife) has done a wonderful job at providing top notch breakfast in a family environment. The not so trendy scene is filled with locals. It feel like you're eating at home (with someone who actually knows how to cook). Rather than frozen foods dropped in the fryer (from a distributor) they make almost everything that they can from scratch and its apparent with every bite. We have only been here for breakfast and left raving about it. The service was excellent and the food was darn good. To top it off the homemade bread and jellies (mixed berry, maple, strawberry, etc) are enough to open a bakery with. (Jenn will bake you a pie if you request it. She even makes sweet potato pie!) I odrdered a meat omelette with green peppers, onions, sausage and bacon. The veggies were sliced in house, the sausage was made on site and the bacon came from a local farmer. Meanwhile, I also ordered blueberry french toast, which is again made from scratch. So good. No surprise, we weren't hungry for lunch later. My buddy ordered a blueberry pancake and stuffed biscuits and gravy and loved both. The breakfast here was so good that it embarrassed every other diner we'd been to within 50 miles. It's one of those places that once you come you'll want to come back as often as you can.

Jams just like the old sparks restaurant.

This is a four star rating for small town restaurants. So keep that in mind. It's just good food and the service is good as well. You don't come here for fancy, but there are a few a stand outs. First off, they make homemade bread. In a town of a couple thousand people they provide homemade bread and jams for locals and passerbys. This is the first place I had gluten free bread and it's still the best. Airy and light. It's delicious. They sell homemade maple syrup, pies, and jerkys too. On my frequent repeat roster is the sparks hash. I know I can make this at home, but I don't. So I get it here. Crispy hash browns mixed with onions, green peppers, ham, and topped with melted cheddar cheese. It just hits the spot, ya know? I fell in love with bacon here. I hope they still have the same thick sliced, fresh bacon that Sparks had because that was one of the best parts about this place for me. Oh, the roundabout replaced Sparks Restaurant. But you barely know it except for the name change. Everything is almost exactly the same. Including the elves on the wall. I am looking forward to seeing if their burgers and bacon are just as delicious as they used to be. My favorite part of this last visit was when I went to pay and the lady said that my bill was taken care of. My immediate response was, "why?" And she said, "haven't you ever heard of paying it forward?" In that moment I felt a bit sad about my initial reaction, but happy that I got a nice reminder that there are good people out there. So it's my turn to pay it forward. When you're up north and in that country frame of mind, Roundabout just can't be beat.

We come here often while in Mesick camping. Jenny's Roundabout is our first stop when we come to Mesick. The breadis homemade & delicious, they even have gluten free bread & pancakes. The Homemade Jams & maple syrup are delicious, strawberry rhubarb on sourdough toast is perfection:) The biscuits are homemade, flaky & tender like they should be! The sausage gravy is seasoned & meaty, creamy & amazing. The Bacon is thick & smoky, (crispy when requested-kinda wobbly when not). My daughter loves the chocolate chippancakes. I've had the farmers & western omelettes both are always cooked perfectly generously filled with ham, cheese & veggies. I had a 1/2lb cheeseburger here yesterday which was cooked to a nice juicy pink medium, served on a homemade bun The sweet potato fries are crinkle cut & very good. I can't think of anything bad about Jenny's Roundabout except how far it is from my house.

So happy to have found this hidden gem!!! We happened to be there on a Sunday watching Michigan…read moreadvance to the final four! Crowd was local and friendly beer prices amazing! We had wings which were good but the pizza looked amazing. Will definitely stop in again on way to Beulah!

Rounding up because two of my kids said to give one star, and two said to give three stars. Here is…read morewhy. This place has potential- it's an adorable cozy hometown bar that has all the feels to be the best place in town- but boy did it drop many balls. Pro: 1: Televisions on around the space with the live football game on! Woohoo 2: jukebox where you can select the tunes. 3: they give you a small cup of crayons for kids, "and they weren't the normal red, blue, green, yellow only!" The pros end there sadly. We stopped in at 6:35 on Sunday. The restaurant was busy but not wild. We stood for ten minutes before anyone greeted us- and when we were greeted the woman said oh there's a table there you can take. So if you stop in I am assuming it's seat yourself?! After seating ourselves we sat at our table another ten minutes without menus, without being greeted. My husband and I looked at each other and laughed- maybe we're supposed to order at the bar?! I got up and got menus for our table. After another 5-8 minutes a server came over and took our order. We ordered two pizzas, a burger, nachos, and a wet chicken burrito. The food took forever to arrive- I mean forever!!!! Like I mentioned we sat at 6:50ish, and our food arrived at 8:04! Our kids were pretty over waiting and so were we. The food was very sub par- we won't be returning unfortunately which is a bummer because the bar is adorable. The nachos were gross and felt like a can of dog food had been poured onto tortilla chips. The only redeeming factor was the sour cream and cheese per our kids. The pizza was pretty awful also! And it's pizza- it's not hard to get pizza right. The pizza was so darn greasy. I couldn't eat mine and our kids only had a few bites. Such a bummer. My husband ate his burger but didn't love it. The burrito was eh- nothing to write home about. I was excited and hopeful about it. The chicken inside was a bit off putting to me. It felt like fake chicken bits which totally creeped me out. After we paid our bill we eagerly left. If you're passing through town keep going. There busy be better. My husband and I only came in for a quick easy good meal- after our time here we wish we'd cooked in.
