My mother-in-law had a breakfast sandwich, my husband a breakfast combo, and my son and I each had omelets. Everything was cooked to perfection despite the place being very busy, and it tasted great. The sausage gravy on my son's food especially brought positive commentary from everyone that tried it. Hidden gem. After a couple day canoe trip and camping stopped here on our way out of seaton creek campground. Food was plentiful and well priced. Service was friendly. Had the corned beef hash and eggs w toast. People in my party also got the waffle which was excellent. Another got the pancake which was huge and delicious. Stopped in for something different and try a different place. Ordered the pricy chili, was just ok. Had the county fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. Was not to bad , normal size. My son ordered the Philly sandwich and is was rather dry and small. He also had the fries and there was a bunch of those but he had to remind the waitress for the fries. My wife and I had just finished our first backpacking trip on the Manistee River Loop near by. We were both exhausted and sore but, decided to grab some real food before we drove the 3 hours back home and Chandlers was the place I had in mind from the drive in. When we entered, we were greeted by the staff and patrons as if we belonged. The food was great and i can't say enough for the service. As we sat there looking every bit of the beat and tired we were (my wife was also not feeling well). Noticing this, one of the staff came over to my wife, put her hand on her shoulder and asked if she was ok. She asked her if there was anything she could get her to help her feel better. Really, really good pizza. It's hard to get a thin pizza that still has a chewy crust. If I lived locally I'd get this once a week! On a second night we got macaroni & cheese and the burrito. Should have stuck with the pizza. Mac & cheese was good but not remarkable. The burrito was advertised as being a whole pound, but most of it was refried beans and that's pretty much all it tasted like too. But, really, really good pizza! Staff was very friendly. We walk in sit down get ignored by waitress a lady walks in with two kids waitress takes their order and drinks and carries on a conversation with them like we don't even exist. Hidden gem! Stopped in on our drive through Michigan through some of the more scenic roads and was not disappointed! The homemade batter on the Vidalia onion rings was fantastic. My friend got the meatloaf sandwich and it was so delicious he ordered the dinner version to go. I got the chicken bacon wrap and was also yummy. I had the breakfast buffet and it was what you would expect for a small diner-average. My wife ordered 1 egg, 1 bacon and toast and it's been 45 minutes and she still doesn't have her food. I tried this for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I'm from down state and have a place in the area and wanted to try something different. Chandlers is a no frills, small diner in a remote area. But, the menu was quite large for a small place and serves breakfast all day. I had a hamburger and it was pretty decent. Wife had the fish and she thought it was very good. My kids are pretty picky and I was worried, but they ate everything and were happy with their meals. Pop is served in cans and no alcohol. Service was excellent, as waitress constantly checked on you, place was clean and food served pretty fast. It's a good place to eat in a remote area. read more
