My family visited this gem after a fishing trip in Manistee. The Yelp reviews were not wrong! The setting is simple and quaint, clearly frequented by locals, and the food did not disappoint. My mother-in-law had a breakfast sandwich, my husband a breakfast combo, and my son and I each had omelets. Everything was cooked to perfection despite the place being very busy, and it tasted great. The sausage gravy on my son's food especially brought positive commentary from everyone that tried it. I love that breakfast is served all day, they have raisin bread, and they serve multiple flavors of homemade jam. The food was terrific, and the young lady waiting tables all on her own did so with a kind and humorous demeanor. She did not blink an eye when my husband retrieved the coffee pot, refilled his mug, and proceeded to circulate the room, filling others'. Bottom line: If you are in the area, this is the place to seek breakfast, read more

Great food here!! Burgers and pizza are my favorites to order. The only disappointing thing is the coffee. It's really weak tasting. read more

Stopped in for something different and try a different place. Ordered the pricy chili, was just ok. Had the county fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. Was not to bad , normal size. My son ordered the Philly sandwich and is was rather dry and small. He also had the fries and there was a bunch of those but he had to remind the waitress for the fries. Place is small and friendly. read more

My wife and I had just finished our first backpacking trip on the Manistee River Loop near by. We were both exhausted and sore but, decided to grab some real food before we drove the 3 hours back home and Chandlers was the place I had in mind from the drive in. When we entered, we were greeted by the staff and patrons as if we belonged. The food was great and i can't say enough for the service. As we sat there looking every bit of the beat and tired we were (my wife was also not feeling well). Noticing this, one of the staff came over to my wife, put her hand on her shoulder and asked if she was ok. She asked her if there was anything she could get her to help her feel better. A small human moment of empathy i have rarely encountered in a public place. Thank you for your "North Woods" hospitality. Great place to eat and great people. read more

Chandellers Cafe is an amazing restaurant for breakfast. their potatoes are great and the black coffee isn't too strong which I love.

Great burgers and fries. All the food is top notch and the service is excellent. Friendly and home town. We really loved this place and we be going back every time we are in the area. read more

Really, really good pizza. It's hard to get a thin pizza that still has a chewy crust. If I lived locally I'd get this once a week! On a second night we got macaroni & cheese and the burrito. Should have stuck with the pizza. Mac & cheese was good but not remarkable. The burrito was advertised as being a whole pound, but most of it was refried beans and that's pretty much all it tasted like too. But, really, really good pizza! Staff was very friendly. Ambiance is small town cafe but we took our food to-go. read more

Food was yummy! even though what we ordered seemed basic, the nacho's chips were homemade and fresh, the toppings were also fresh. The homemade chip with the BLT were so good. We also order the blueberry pie, which didn't disappoint! read more

Clean, friendly and good, down home diner food. Come here when I make my quick trips to this beautiful area.

Excellent breakfast spot! I had the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. It was all very good. Biscuits were toasted and buttered. Their bacon is thick cut and high quality. They also have homemade jam. Friendly staff to boot. We will definitely be back. read more

Good food and service-I love the corn beef hash. if you are in the area you have to stop and try it, you won't be sorry.

Hidden gem! Stopped in on our drive through Michigan through some of the more scenic roads and was not disappointed! The homemade batter on the Vidalia onion rings was fantastic. My friend got the meatloaf sandwich and it was so delicious he ordered the dinner version to go. I got the chicken bacon wrap and was also yummy. The owner, Mandy, and her staff were wonderful, friendly and attentive. It will be a must stop on future trips. read more

Just left your restaurant without ordering and we won't be back. It was our favorite restaurant. We walk in sit down get ignored by waitress a lady walks in with two kids waitress takes their order and drinks and carries on a conversation with them like we don't even exist. We will let our family and friends know not to go there cause of poor service and we always tipped good. read more

This was my first time at this restraint and I will be back. My husband ordered the country fried steak which came with mashed potatoes and gravy. I ordered the Ruben with fries. My husband wasnt a fan of the mashed potatoes that came with his meal. Our waitress was Heather and she was great, very friendly and attentive. We will be back. read more

I had the breakfast buffet and it was what you would expect for a small diner-average. My wife ordered 1 egg, 1 bacon and toast and it's been 45 minutes and she still doesn't have her food. It's maybe 15% full so no excuse for that. Finally getting it in a to go box. We'll give them one more try for lunch or dinner but definitely not on a holiday. read more

I tried this for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I'm from down state and have a place in the area and wanted to try something different. Chandlers is a no frills, small diner in a remote area. But, the menu was quite large for a small place and serves breakfast all day. I had a hamburger and it was pretty decent. Wife had the fish and she thought it was very good. My kids are pretty picky and I was worried, but they ate everything and were happy with their meals. Pop is served in cans and no alcohol. Service was excellent, as waitress constantly checked on you, place was clean and food served pretty fast. It's a good place to eat in a remote area. read more
